After the events of No Way Home, Peter is completely alone, the entire world having forgot him. Unfortunately for him, that means Nick Fury sees him as an dangerous, unknown enhanced individual and sends the Avengers to bring him in.
(not totally canon compliant, Natasha is alive but Tony still died in the snap, Bruce and the Hulk are not merged like they were in endgame, Steve never stayed in the past so he's normal not old, and the event of No Way Home all happened [lowkey I just forgot about some of those things happening until I was already like 4 chapters in, sorry lol])

Sure. In retrospect he was being a bit dramatic, and maybe scaring everyone in the tower over someone eating his leftovers wasn’t the smartest thing to do. But as J. Jonah. Jameson said on the daily, Spider-Man was a menace. And Peter Parker was a food aggressive bitch who holds a grudge.
