At least he had actual friends to bring home for the first time ever. She’d definitely be thrilled about that.

A small ball hovered in her hand, shining with a silver-blue light. It floated there, getting brighter and brighter before dimming again. Wisps of cloud swirled at its center. It was pure magic.
And the breath was stolen from Arthur’s lungs.
“I thought you’d recognize it. He said it was warm. He said it reminded him of home.”It has been one year since Merlin's death when Arthur meets Morgana on the battlefield.
Somehow, between all the guilt and shame, he discovers that his sister knew Merlin better than he ever did - and ever would. -

Summary
Merlin wakes up in Ismere with no memory of who he is after Morgana knocks him out. The Diomare calls him Emrys and, believing that is his name, and that he is a dragon lord, he calls. He's surprised when two show up, healing one, while giving the other a shock.
He's dropped off at an abandoned house where he precedes to make a life for himself. He ends up with more than he bargained for when a woman shows up begging him to take her magical children in. It keeps happening and before he knows it he has six children relying on him and looking up to him.
Along the way, knights pass by on patrol and quickly identify his new home as a sanctuary and take rest there on occasion while passing through.

He had been alone so long. Twenty years without a soul left in the world who cared about him. He was the Great Dragon, Triple Goddess be damned. No longer would he let Merlin risk his life alone, unprotected and uncared for.
There was only one clear course of action left.
Assume human form and move to Camelot as Merlin’ long lost half brother. It was mostly true, anyways.
There was no way for this to go wrong, he was sure.

"That we didn’t grow up with servants," Elyan snorted "I know it’s a scary thought but...we can actually survive a hunt without Merlin’s stew." He said. Gwaine gasped in fake shock.
"We don’t need a servant," Arthur piped up immediately, chest puffing out in defiance "Hell, with how Merlin is, I’ve pretty much been without a servant for years!"
"Great!" Percival said and jerked his head "Then let’s go."
