It was almost like he wasn’t in control of his body as he rose from the stuffy booth and headed across the bar. He’d hoped as he got closer that maybe his eyes would stop playing tricks on him and that it really wasn’t who he thought it was.
The laughter from the group of men tapered off and the one he was staring at looked up to meet his gaze. Sure enough, there were no tricks of the light here, the man was one hundred percent Thragg.
“What the fuck are you doing here?”
It’s only somewhat awkward when Mark sees Thragg across the bar after being convinced the Viltrumites weren’t on Earth. It’s definitely more awkward when he has to come up with an excuse for being in the bathroom with the man for thirty minutes.

Summary
Grace has to handle First Contact with an alien planet with what meager Eridian his one set of vocal chords can make.
This Is Fine. This is totally, completely, utterly fine.(Grace sounds like a pebble. This, alongside Eridian's extended lifespans, kicks off a chain of misunderstandings that Grace would find utterly mortifying if he knew what the heck was going on.)

Summary
The arrival at Erid is a momentous occasion. Rocky is excited and thrilled. Ryland is overwhelmed. But the reunion is happy, beautiful, amazing.
Or that's what it should have been. Except Rocky gets hurt, Ryland is left to try and communicate with an alien planet, and everyone is scrambling to figure out how to do this. To Grace, this is incredible but also bittersweet - he got Rocky home safely with the taumoeba, now he just gets... to starve. To Erid, this is insane - how did Rocky show up in an alien spaceship with a child???

Ryland Grace is stuck trying to speak Eridian, immediately makes himself sound like a child, and Rocky's world and family scramble to help this strange pebble. Misunderstandings galore, alongside hurt/comfort and angst and fluff.

Summary
Grace is unprepared for the level of love that all of Erid seemed to have for him. It was vaguely terrifying, but also.... nice? To be cared for. To be wanted.
It gets worse when they find out the circumstances of him ending up on the Hail Mary.
When his declining health necessitates a trip back to Earth, he is faced with a planet that loves him so fiercely and wonderfully that it finally starts to break through his crippling lack of self worth and bloom into something incredible.
And Earth? Earth has to deal with an Erid that is polite, protective, and most of all, pissed.
