9/22/24 - this is kind of a softcore action love story with lots of family feels, pack feels, and relationship building. No sex, not needed as the rest of the story was fine without it defined. 9/19/25 - there’s some epic domestic fluff in this. 😁 6/13/26

10/4/25 - Stupendous story!! I balled my eyes out at the ‘cocoon’ scene. Idk, the Stiles and his mother’s thing and me losing my mom earlier this year just did it. So…aside from that…great characterization, humor (totally laughed out loud a few times), pack building, and machinations. Oh, and ooo, I liked the Derek and Lydia pairing, that was nice. Really enjoyed this. 6/11/26 - I like the Peter in this. He’s softer.

Derek pulled the chair closer to the bed and sat down, eyes scanning every detail like he couldn’t decide what to focus on. “What’s going on?”
Stiles didn’t answer right away. He looked out the window for a second, his expression tightening, and when he turned back, his voice was quiet.
“Bone cancer,” he said. “Osteosarcoma, to be specific. I’m on my first round of chemo. They started it last week.”
~~~~Derek returns from Mexico and realizes things have gotten much worse since he left.

9/8/25 - Yep, absolutely gorgeous story. I was crying right there with Derek as he pleaded and begged the Nemeton/territory to help him save Stiles. Oh, and Peter’s speech to Scott was gold. …As I read through the second half I realized the growth that each of the characters experienced and the family/pack closeness they choose with each other is that old revenge adage - to live your life to your best, the fullest. ___And yeah, the petty part of me would love to see Scott glimpsing the five of them as a happy functioning pack family. Like others have mentioned (and I think Peter alluded to), just because your an alpha presently doesn’t mean it’s always; the Nemeton giveth and taketh as needed by the territory. 6/11/26

Stiles was so excited to start his first year at Berkeley; he was close to his dad, but far enough away to not be involved in Beacon Hill's supernatural shenanigans, and he was surrounded by like-minded people who shared his passion for higher education.
That, like so many things in life, was all soon derailed by one night with a pretty face.
Finding his life has suddenly been turned upside down, Stiles takes comfort in his pack, and in one unexpected pack member in particular who just can't seem to help himself from assisting Stiles during his trying time.

8/31/21 - The beginning is really tough, but I absolutely enjoyed the normalcy of the rest of the story. Although I kept waiting for the next horrible event (which there was none), I appreciated the pace and respect all the characters had for each other and each other’s boundaries. Definitely worth more reads. Last read 10/30/22, 4/2/25 - such a great ending. 6/9/26
