Despite being somewhat content with the daily routine she was following when working behind the desk, Raven could feel irritation creeping up on her at random points throughout the day while working for the big, well-known corporation: Joja.Co. Her hands often cramped up after a good few hours of nothing but typing, the desks were a little too high, the fluorescent lights were way too bright, the color scheme of the place was horrendously dreary, and the only sounds in the workplace included typing at various speeds from various corners of the office, the droning of the AC and a few displaced coughs every now and then.
Despite how exhausted she’d be by the end of the day, she could hardly sleep at night. She was nocturnal by nature, anyway. Alas, such was the struggle of being a capitalist society’s wage slave.
So Raven couldn’t have been happier when she opened her drawer for a neatly tucked away pen to jot down a note and spotted the letter left behind for her from her grandfather.Raven Grimm, the new farmer in town, is promptly greeted (after days of procrastination) by a dark haired man with a welcome bouquet. He's kind, mild-mannered, and a good friend.
Or so it seemed at first...

Contrary to what everyone in the ton claimed, marriage was an ugly game and love was a fool’s deception used as a cover to hide that truth.
You could see it very clearly, even when those around you could not.
In your opinion, anyone who believed in the existence of love was either naïve or pitiful and you were neither of those. If this was indeed a game, you were going to win it, regardless of how many feelings were hurt in the process.
People called it heartless. You called it smart.
Love was a plague on people’s hearts, a lie at best and a trap at worst, and you were determined not to let it catch you off guard ever. Even the night before your debut to the society, you laid in bed wide awake, repeating your plan in your head over and over again until the shadows of the night were chased away by the first rays of the sunlight.
But the ironic thing about that perfect plan of yours?
Life had a different one in the works.
