Camelia stands—it is only polite—and does not grimace when Izunia sweeps his bedraggled hat off his head in order to perform a ridiculously flowery bow. It is something far more suited for Niflheim’s imperial court than a private dinner in Altissia, and she strongly suspects Izunia does it purely to irritate her.
“First Secretary,” Izunia says, his voice thick with faux supplication. “Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to accommodate a meeting on such short notice.”

Summary
Cowering next to the throne is none other than Noctis Lucis Caelum, crown prince of Lucis. There’s a crude metal collar around the boy’s neck, attached to the throne with a heavy chain. He’s in no better state than Ravus, face dirty and clothes torn. He’s looking back at Ravus, eyes big and glistening. His legs are splayed uselessly to the side, while he holds himself up on his arms.
Joining the Niflheim military was the first impossible choice Ravus had to make. It's not the last one.
