“What’s wrong?” you demand, cold dread sinking in the pit of your stomach as Lucifer appears behind Charlie with a golden scroll clutched in his hands.
“Heaven wants a meeting with me and Charlie,” he says grimly. “First thing in the morning. I just got the summons.”
“Okay…?” You glance warily at Alastor, who shrugs back at you, equally nonplussed. “They probably want to talk about what happened with the Exorcist attack on the hotel. We figured that’d happen eventually.”
“But it’s not just that.” Charlie lifts her anxious gaze to meet yours. “The Seraphim asked specifically for you to join us.”
Alastor’s grip on you involuntarily tightens even as your heart stutters to a halt.
[Sequel to Moonlight Sonata - feel free to read without reading the original, but fair warning that context for Reader's character and backstory will be very much lost otherwise!]

Sometimes he would raise the delicate hands of noble ladies to his lips for a brief kiss, but it was all out of propriety. He rarely touched others, but what was even rarer was others touching him. The only ones who dared were his knights, and even they only smacked his shoulder or patted his back in friendly roughhousing. Gripping each other’s arms before battle was the most heartfelt touch they exchanged. Lingering soft touches were not done. Any lingering touch on his person could be interpreted as political movements. After all, Arthur’s body wasn’t his own. It never had been. He was Camelot’s first and foremost. Even above his own needs and wants.

Supper secured and stuffed away in his trousers, he looks up to find the silver-haired stranger in the corner, the one person who hadn’t heckled him. The man is objectively gorgeous, with fascinating hair and a body that makes Jaskier’s mouth water a little.
Oh yes, he decides quickly, he will be climbing this stranger like a tree.
He’s a little wrong-footed when he works out that the stranger is a witcher with big scary swords Jaskier’s heard horror stories about, but after a quick moment of thought, he also thinks about how very many things the fae elders have been wrong about all his life and decides to ignore them once again. The witcher–Geralt of supposedly Rivia, even though Jaskier can tell from his accent that that’s a lie–tries to get rid of him, but Jaskier is nothing if he’s not determined, and he’s simply too damn interested to get scared off easily.
The witcher has clearly not realized that Jaskier is something to be hunted, and Jaskier, well, he’s never excelled at silly things like self-preservation.
