Michael never considered himself to be good with girls, or people in general for that matter, if his pathetic attempt to ask Jena to the snowball in 8th grade meant anything. So you could expect that he was very surprised to find a ‘Happy Birthday’ card inside his locker.
The card was a warm tone of pastel yellow, it had a simple drawing of a birthday cake with ‘Happy Birthday!’ written neatly in different colors; it smelled faintly of sweets, with a few citric tones. Inside the card was a letter with no signature.-Mileven Secret Admirer AU, created completely by me cause i found the idea cute.

So there was that reason that work wasn’t boring, too. There was Richie’s soppy campaign of making cow eyes at the back of Eddie’s head as he passed, gently pressing Betty for details about his personal life (“I don’t think he has one. He had this awful fiancé a few years ago, but we’re all glad that’s over”), and chasing the incomparable high of a quiet, muttered “Thanks, Rich” whenever Richie picks something up for him from the copier.
Richie is a wannabe stand-up comic daylighting as the receptionist at Eddie's office. Eddie is a tightly-wound corporate asshole. They are both disasters. Or: five times Richie watched Eddie and one that Eddie watched him back.
