This current situation is not merely causing Angel to suffer. It is killing him. And for some reason, some inexplicable, unfathomable and no doubt ludicrous reason, Alastor cannot allow that to happen.
Alastor is back at the hotel, but Angel Dust is not. He is back with Valentino, and although the pain of his friends at his absence is a delightful thing to behold, Alastor is certain that Angel's pain will be all the sweeter and he pays him a visit to find out. The suffering of others is something to be enjoyed like a fine wine, so why does Angel's suffering taste so wrong?

“Twenty-one,” Ciel answered, his voice steadier than he felt.
“William,” Sebastian warned again, pressing his fingers briefly to his temples. “You’re giving him the wrong impression.”
“Am I?” William tilted his head. “Because from where I’m standing, he looks just as flustered as you do.” His gaze sharpened playfully. “Tell me, Ciel—did you happen to leave your cozy little booth tonight because Sebastian was here?”
