Jinx drops it to chest level, and turns the corner quick, pressing it into the man’s chest. She cackles, “Gotcha—!” Then gasps. Oh. The breath knocks out of her lungs. It’s Ekko. Her grip on the pistol falters, fingers loosening around the trigger.
A big, gloved hand gently presses into her wrist, pulling her hand down, and trying to pull the pistol away too. With the mask on, she can’t tell what kind of expression he has. No big brown eyes she can see through. “What are you still doing here?” She hisses, resisting against his grip. “Scram!” It should be his warm fingers on her skin, she thinks.
No! No, get a grip! Everyone is just in that warehouse! If they saw her with the ‘firelight’s leader’, she’s done for.
