Divertime: This Time Around
Fics in which characters deliberately change the timeline (& thereby their or other people’s lives)
i.e.: Mostly time travel - generally covers a significant portion of the timeline (late to early/pre) - (sometimes) focusing on (ultimately) altering a climactic event
occasionally (canon-altering) time loops,
(Occasionally precognition/memory loss/gain)(Occasionally non-time travel major event alteration; mostly infinity war.)

Summary
The six stones balanced each other, acting like the weights on a loom to stabilize the fabric of reality. The threads of each of their powers were needed, and Thanos had destroyed them. It was little wonder the entire universe was rotting away - there was no real recovery happening even after five years. New growth was constantly smothered by new problems, and not just in New Asgard. The Guardians of the Galaxy reported the same on every world they visited. The strife caused by the sudden loss of half of all life - not just peoples but the living plants and animals they ate, the seeds held in grain stores, and the flora and fauna that kept ecosystems in balance with the space they inhabited - was causing more death, misery, and violence even now.

If the creators of the MCU can just show us Old Man Rodgers and imply that Captain America made a parallel timeline that is the best of all possible worlds for himself then I can show you the brodinsons doing it for themselves too.

Summary
Glancing from his hands-tiny and small, unnatural and wrong- to the rest of his body.
Small
He’s clad in green, soft sleep robes-old familiar ones- and the realization hits him along with immediate denial.
He has to see.
He stumbles towards the closet where he remembers the door being a reflective sheet of gold-a garish, hideous thing- and stares at his reflection.
Bright green eyes and a ridiculously pudgy youthful face stare back at him.

“OK, hypothetically, you get sent back in time one year. Does that make a difference?” Strange asked. “Two? Three? Could you live through the worst experience of your life again to preserve enough of the timeline to continue? Could you stand aside and let someone you love live through a bad experience in their life?”
“OK. I get it. Bad idea.” Tony smirked at Strange to cover for his unease. “So. Plan B?”
Strange grinned but there was a serious glint in his eyes. “How about we make it plan Z?”
“Last resort, huh?” Tony shrugged. “Yeah, why not? Let’s go with that.”
