“He doesn’t have friends?”
“He has friends, but its different. He needs to feel safe with you, and he won’t feel safe if some stiff in a suit is breathing down his neck every second of the day. Prince Harley is more than a job.”
“And you think I should apply for the position?” Peter asks slowly. “That I would be good at it?”
“I think you’ll be great, kid,” Barton answers. “You’re a good friend to everyone who knows you, and you have the skill set to properly protect. Harley will need someone like you, especially since we haven’t found his attacker. Let him live his life, but protect him above that. Royal bodyguards don’t just protect the physical body of the Starks. You protect the whole person.”

Peter finally looked down to see Harley Fucking Keener, Iron Lad, the boy who had caused his shoulder to be throbbing in pain all night, looking away with a slight tint to his cheeks. Peter opened and closed his mouth, no sound coming out.
And he sat back down.
OR: Peter had been living on the streets, dealing with your average homeless vigilante stuff. Things got a bit more complicated when the Avengers started to chase him down.

Summary
"With great power comes great responsibility." Yeah, right. More like, with great power comes stab wounds and bloody sheets and a hero complex that could take down even the strongest of men. And Peter, well, he isn't the strongest of men. Not to mention that Peter's hero complex doesn't exactly extend to himself.
May still doesn’t know that he’s Spiderman. Because of this, she also doesn’t know about his increased metabolism, hunger, strength, sensitivity, everything. He didn’t really notice, for the first few weeks, until he hears May on the phone with one of her work friends discussing how she didn’t realize how much teenage boys eat. Peter immediately stopped eating.
Flash knows something is up. He knows the signs, or at least he thinks he does. And he's going to get to the bottom of things, one way or another.
