No, no, no, and no! It couldn’t be happening!
Marinette denied it and internally begged. (Please!) she kept telling herself, staring at Adrien’s eyes in utter disbelief while all that came out of her mouth were apologies. One after another, spoken in a rush.
The first time she said sorry, she stared at her hands and what she had done. She couldn’t believe it—she stood there stunned, her eyes so wide it looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
The second time, she pulled her trembling hands back without being able to look at him.
The third time she looked at him, and even though she seemed like a pervert scrutinizing him with her gaze, she couldn’t help it, blushing intensely.
The fourth time she closed her eyes, covering her face with her palms.
The fifth, she wished the earth would swallow her whole.
The sixth…
"D-don’t worry, i-it wasn’t your intention." Adrien said, his cheeks tinted red, along with his neck and ears, which looked like they were burning, as he pulled up the pants that SHE had pulled down.
"It-it was an accident, I’m so sorry! I-I…"
Looking through the gaps between her fingers...
"I know, stop apologizing, Marinette." he replied with a smile that turned into a slightly awkward expression due to the situation. A few seconds later, he offered her his hand to help her up.
She looked up, removing her hands from her face, starting to believe she was hearing angels singing and that Adrien had wings and a halo. How could he be so kind? He should hate her! But nooo, he was offering her his hand to help her up and even asking if she was okay.
And what was she doing?
Staring at him like a pervert after pulling his pants down. She took his hand timidly, wondering in her mind: Why hadn’t she collapsed to the ground?
Well, she had— but why did she have to drag Adrien’s pants down with her?!
Clumsy, clumsy, clumsy.
And she knew she was, and that she always committed the most embarrassing actions, but she never thought it would be this bad—or at least not involving other people.
Until today.
Although it certainly wasn’t her fault! It was Chloe’s fault, because if she hadn’t tripped her, she wouldn’t have stumbled and, by reflex, grabbed Adrien’s pants.
Uhh!
She closed her eyes as she stood up, trying to ignore that this had happened at the school entrance, that everyone had recorded it, that everyone was watching, and...
That she couldn’t get the image of Adrien’s boxer shorts out of her mind!
And it wasn’t like she was a pervert (completely), but while watching him walk in front of her, she couldn’t help remembering that his underwear was red with black polka dots. Just thinking about it made her collapse face-first onto the ground again, completely red from head to toe and once again losing consciousness.
At least this time she hadn’t dragged Adrien’s pants down with her.
