Work Text:

Nik's eyes shut tightly, a small, somber smile as she turned her head away, her long hair swaying behind her. "So, it's like that, huh?" She murmured, voice barely above a whisper. Chive took a step closer. Her expression was pained. "I'm sorry, but I've found someone else." She explained. Nik held her hand out. "Stay there." She commanded, her free hand flying to a cup that lay full on the table beside the girls. She whipped around, shoving the cup to the dark-haired girls chest. "Drink." Chive seemed startled, before carefully taking the cup into her hands. "Why?" She asked. Nik didn't answer. Chive supposed it couldn't hurt. Besides, Nik wouldn't brew something that would harm her in any way. It wasn't in her nature. So she held it to her lips, taking a small sip, then another, and another, until the cup was empty. "It was a love potion." Nik finally spoke. Chive's grip on the cup loosened, then she let it fall to the ground. Shocked she was, as—

"Sayori?" Monika"s voice rang out, and Sayori, startled, slammed her book shut. "Eh! Monika, you startled me!" She pouted, glancing between her and the book. "And made me loose where I was." The bookmark lay beside the book on the desk. "Sorry, Sayori!" The brown-haired girl apologized. Sayori put on a smile. "It's okay! No biggie!"

She stood up, her gaze staying with Monika's. "Were you gonna tell me something?" Sayori asked, cocking her head like a confused dog. Monika smiled. "I got a bag of chips, but I don't think I can finish it. Wanna share?" Monika pulled a bag of chips from behind her back. They were Barbeque flavor, Sayori's favorite. She grinned. "You know I do!"

_

After sharing those chips with Monika and returning home, she flopped onto her bed, letting out a long exhale. She didn't bother changing out of her school uniform first.

The book she was reading... That idea stayed in her head. Love potion. The thought sounded almost ridiculous to her. Almost. Maybe she could make her own. And sense it seemed MC liked the other girls more than her, maybe she could get him to drink it! She sat up, pulling out her phone and searching one of the most dumbest things she's ever googled.

How to make a love potion

-

She knocked on Yuri's front door, ingredients in hand ... How did she get the purple girl's address? ... Don't worry about that. "Hello?" She called out, knocking again. It took about a minute before she answered. "Sayori?- U-Uh-" Sayori slipped past Yuri's form into the house. "Your gonna help me make a love potion!" She announced, a big, goofy grin on her face. Yuri paused. "How did you even get my address?.." She asked, fiddling with a strand of hair and breaking their eye contact. Sayori giggled in response, then looked around. "Where's your bathroom?"

"Down the hall to the left. Why?"

"Like I said, your helping me brew a love potion!"

"....okay.."

They walked down the hall. Sayori swung the door open. Antibiotics lay on the counter, and Yuri sped in front of Sayori, collecting it in her arms and opening a drawer. "...Sorry I left these out. I wasn't expecting visitors." She shoved them in the cupboard somewhere random and shut the doors in a hurry. "That's alright, Yuri! Ehehe~" She let her... Questionable ingredients onto the surface next to the sink. The 'ingrediants' consisted but were not limited too: Random chemicals, food dyes, baby oil, shampoo, and... A lone strawberry?

"...Sayori, where did you get the recipe? This, not to be rude, looks like a call to poison control and a ride to the hospital."

Sayori pouted, crossing her arms and darting her gaze away. Yuri dare say she looked like Natsuki. "Nunya!" She squeaked.

"Sayori."

"Tiktok..."

Yuri sighed. But she pulled two seats from the corner of the room, offering one to Sayori as she sat onto her's. Sayori took the seat with joy, dropping the pout. "Who are you making the potion for?" Yuri asked. If Sayori said- "MC!" ...great. Yuri felt a sour feeling in her chest, but shook it off. "Okay." She glanced over the ingredients, having to lean over the counter slightly to see past Sayori. "So... Why amist all of those... Non-exible substances, is a strawberry?" Sayori grinned, maybe even letting a giggle out. "Flavor, of course, Yuri! I want it to be strawberry flavored!"

Yuri forced a smile. "Okay then..." She paused, then stood up. "I suppose we need a cup, and maybe a blender?" Yuri asked. Sayori nodded. "Yeah! Then we can get started!"

Yuri went to get the necessities, and then they both got to work on creating Sayori's strawberry flavored love potion.

-

Sayori cheerfully stopped the blender. "It's done!" She chirped, swishing the questionable hot pink-colored liquid around before pouring it into the cup presented in front of her. Yuri watched as Sayori pulled her phone from... Somewhere, and scrolled through her contacts before muttering a small 'ah-hah!' and pressing the call button on what Yuri supposed was MC's contact. It rang a few times before the man picked up

"Hello? Sayori?"

"Hii MC! Soo I made something, and I want you to try it!" Her grin widened.

"..."

"What is it?"

"A surprise!"

"...Sayori, you know I don't like surprises..."

She giggled. "Too bad! Umm, I'm at Yuri's house, so I can tell you the address. By the way, say hi!" Sayori thrust the phone to Yuri, who stuttered before speaking. "H-Hi....?" She forced out. MC greeted her back. Sayori told MC her address, which, she'd admit, felt greatly embarrassing to her for whatever reason. She turned her gaze toward the potion again. She felt the urge to take a sip.

Sayori must've noticed when she hung up, since soon enough, she was snapping her fingers in Yuri's face. "Yuri? Yuuuri??" She called. Yuri flinched away and looked up at the girl. "O-Oh! Sorry..." She apologized quietly, her eyes drifting down to the floor. Sayori sighed. "It's fine, jeez!" She paused, hand drifting to Yuri's chin, lifting it up to where the melancholic girl could look her in the eyes. "You okay? You've been distracted this entire time." She asked, frowning lightly. Yuri lost herself in Sayori's eyes. A feeling arose, bubbling and fluttering in her chest, she couldn't describe before she shook it off and looked away. "Yes, I'm fine." She murmured, a small smile playing at her lips. From the corner of her eye, she watched Sayori tilt her head and smile again. "Whatever you say! Just tell me if you need anything, Ehehe!" She giggled. The feeling came back.

Strangely enough, she found Sayori so very, very adorable. Maybe even more than MC. She watched Sayori's lips, how they moved... They made her feel deliciously dizzy. "...Kiss me..." She muttered without thinking. Once both realized what she said, spontaneously, their faces went red.

"E-Eh!?
"I-I-"

They were silent for a moment. Yuri's eyes were shiny when she watched as Sayori leaned forward, lips slightly parted and aiming towards hers. Her heart raced, almost able to taste Sayori's sweet mouth, and—

The door creaked open.
"Sayori? Yuri?"

Sayori pushed Yuri away instantaneously, and Yuri, off guard, fell from her chair onto the ground. Pain shot though her back, which she relished. Sayori clasped her hands over her mouth. "Yuri!" She squeaked, ducking down and offering Yuri support to stand up. "I'm so sorry!" She apologized repeatedly after that, helping Yuri to stand up. After a few moments, Yuri was back on her feet.

MC glanced between the two. Slightly skeptical he was, but did not comment on how he saw a glimpse of the two so close. "The drink I was gonna try?" He mentioned awkwardly. Sayori grinned. "Oh, yeah!" She took the cup from the counter and offered it to MC. He swooshed it around. "What is this even?" He asked, examining the liquid as it stirred. Sayori giggled nervously. "That's the surprise!"

The girls watched with anticipation as MC took the cup to his lips. A moment passed before the potion slipped through his lips. Only Yuri noticed how his face contorted to one of disgust. She glanced over at Sayori. She still hasn't noticed. Yuri sighed.

MC finished half the cup before he pulled away. "Now can you tell me what this is?" He gestured to the cup. "A love potion." The girls said in unison. MC blinked. "Huh? A love potion?" Sayori nodded. "Strawberry flavored!"

They watched him as he set the remaining liquid onto the counter, and he leaned on the wall. "Are you okay?" Yuri asked, stepping forward. MC sighed. "Fine. Just... Feeling a little dizzy." He slid down the wall. Sayori went to sit by him. "You sure?"

...

A minute passed in silence.

MC let out a breath, band closed his eyes.

He didn't breath back in.

"MC? " Sayori spoke his name. "Hello?" Yuri darted forward to MC's body, hand flying to check his pulse. "What are you doing." Sayori asked flatly, voice low in concern. Yuri responded with a hush. "I don't feel a pulse." She whispered. "Call an ambulance."
