Work Text:
When was the last time anyone hugged Dylan? Casper would pat him on the shoulder, sometimes, when he still visited. The other researchers would huddle outside Dylan's cage and take their little notes. Security never touched Dylan except to restrain and/or sedate him.
So the first time Jesse hugs him, Dylan tenses up. Adrenaline floods his veins. He tears himself away and fights a reflexive urge to retaliate.
"Dylan? Are you okay?" asks Jesse, in the same tone she used when her little brother skinned his knee. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," mumbles Dylan. He tries to hug his sister back.
