LO CH 21
When Janine grasped it, something felt off in the texture of the hand. Years training specializing in noticing minute details led her to instantly realize that the person in front of her was hiding something, but she couldn’t tell just what it was. Releasing the “hand”, Janine escorted the group out of their training facility and headed toward the actual Gym they were supposed to go to.
I’ll need to mention to father that this Ash Ketchum has had subterfuge training of his own and probably has excellent disguise experience as well. Janine thought. Which Clan is he from? I don’t recognize the name, but that itself might be false or made up. She went on.
Keeping up a basic conversation of the few things they were allowed to talk to outsiders about, Janine kept up the thoughts in her head about just who this “Ash Ketchum” might be. He’s got an incredible sense of smell, he wasn’t fazed by the numbers we displayed against him, and he’s obviously hiding something because that handshake wasn’t normal. Janine continued. It was an incredibly soft grip, so it could have been a glove, but he wasn’t wearing any that I could see.
The problem is that my eyes could have deceived me. She went on. My hand definitely felt something, but I think only father and aunt Aya would be able to figure out more. Annoyingly, they are still much better than me at finding out people’s secrets than I am. Janine internally grumbled as she brought the group to the other abandoned facility that was used for the Fuchsia City Gym.
