Chapter Text

At CCG, Nikolai and Natasha were walking to an area of the HQ, a meeting room because Sergei called them.

Natasha: What do you think it is, Niko? - Natasha asked curiously, and Nikolai just shrugged.

Nikolai: I don't know, maybe he wants to inform us of something, after all, Sergei only calls these meetings when Gregory tells him to - Nikolai said calmly, he knew his friend wouldn't call them without a reason - Maybe it's new investigators, I overheard Gregory mentioning it briefly when I went to talk to him.

Natasha: Rookies, huh? This is going to be fun, I hope we get new sharpshooters - Natasha said with a slight smile, she hoped to see more gunners like her.

They both continued walking peacefully until they finally reached the room where Sergei was, and inside, some new faces. Sergei, upon seeing his friends, immediately smiled.

Sergei: Nikolai, Natasha, I'm glad you came.

Nikolai: Anytime, Sergei, but what's the reason for being called? Is it to introduce new investigators?

Sergei: Exactly, new special rank investigators and some rookies, as well as some old friends. The first one I want to introduce is an old acquaintance of yours, Olivia Morozov - Sergei said while looking at a woman with brown hair, though if you looked closer, you'd see it was black at the roots. She had an eyepatch on her left eye, while her right eye was a very dark color. Her hair was medium length and voluminous, reaching her shoulders, and slightly messy, giving her a fighter's look. She had bangs symmetrically parted in the middle, falling to the sides and showing her forehead. Her uniform was what was expected of an investigator: a black overcoat with a red formal suit underneath and an emerald pendant, as well as black gloves. Nikolai smiled upon seeing that woman.

Nikolai: Olivia? I'm glad you haven't died yet - Nikolai said, approaching his old friend, who stood up and shook his hand.

Olivia: It takes more than mere ghouls to get rid of me, and it seems you haven't died easily either. The last time I remember hearing about you was about that explosion.

Nikolai: Like you, I have someone waiting for me at home, so I can't die.

Natasha: You guys know each other? - Natasha asked curiously, she had never seen that woman before.

Nikolai: This is Olivia, an old friend of mine. I met her when we both hunted her Кинки (quinqui). Speaking of which, have you been using her well?

Olivia: You know me, Nikolai. I never miss a shot, and if I missed, it's because I wanted to - Olivia said confidently, and Natasha was curious about what she was hearing.

Natasha: Is your Кинки (quinqui) also a rifle?

Olivia: Yes, it's an honor to meet you, Nikolai's squire, the fearsome snake eyes. Although I think it's an exaggeration to say you're the best shot when I'm here - Olivia said with a smile, and Natasha was curious but soon laughed a little.

Natasha: I like you. I hope your bullets are as precise as your words. Maybe a competition in the future?

Olivia: Just don't cry if I win.

Natasha: I say the same.

Sergei: It's good that you're already getting along, after all, Natasha, she will be your new partner - Sergei said with a smile, and Natasha looked surprised.

Natasha: Wait, what?

Sergei: Olivia is a special assistant, and since you're one of the few sharpshooters, we decided there was no better time for a promotion than now. Congratulations, Natasha, you are a special investigator - Sergei congratulated his friend, and everyone in the room applauded a little.

Natasha: I... a special rank... wow - Natasha said surprised. Nikolai put his hand on her shoulder. Even though she was wearing a mask, Natasha could tell he was smiling.

Nikolai: You deserve it, Tasha. You've always been one of the best among us using a rifle. I believe Olivia is in good hands - Nikolai said in a proud tone of his partner, who smiled.

Olivia: It's a pleasure to meet you then, partner - Olivia extended her hand with a friendly smile, and Natasha immediately shook her hand.

Natasha: I promise to do my best to help you, Olivia.

Sergei: Well, a duo is formed. Nikolai, I'd like to introduce your new partner. He's a contact of mine from Spain. His name is Hansa Cervantes - Sergei introduced Nikolai's new partner. He was a man with long dark hair that reached his shoulders, an eyepatch on the right side, his left eye was a very dark blue. He wore a black overcoat and underneath, clothes resembling a priest's. He had a golden crucifix necklace and blue gloves and a scarf of the same color. He stood up and went to Nikolai.

Hansa: A pleasure, Mr. Rasputin.

Nikolai: Uno gusto conocerte senõr Cervantes - Nikolai said, and Hansa was surprised by that.

Hansa: Hablas Espanol?

Nikolai: I learned it on my travels. I hope you're ready for the chaos that is Moscow.

Hansa: Don't worry, Spain is also quite chaotic, but I'll be at your disposal, Mr. Rasputin.

Nikolai: Please, we don't need so much formality. Just call me Nikolai.

Hansa: In that case, you can call me Hansa.

Sergei: Very well, the duos seem good. Now we have 3 special classes, 2 are from the old guard while 1 is new.

Nikolai: Interesting, who would that be?

???: It would be me, sir - a woman stood up. She had long silver hair and green eyes. She wore a white t-shirt and a black overcoat, as well as reading/vision glasses. She appeared to be shorter than Olivia and quite young, surprising Nikolai - My name is Hanabi Karabi, sir. I was transferred here by order of the Japanese CCG. It's an honor to meet the legend of Baba Yaga - Hanabi said, and everyone almost choked on air.

Nikolai: Baba.....Yaga?

Hanabi: Yes, sir. Isn't that what you're known as? - Hanabi asked, a little worried. Did she mispronounce it?

Nikolai: My dear, my name is Santa klaus. Baba Yaga is the most feared ghoul here - Nikolai explained calmly, and Hanabi then turned red with shame.

Hanabi: A thousand apologies, sir!!!!!!!! I didn't mean to offend you!!!!! It's just that I thought since Baba Yaga is a more frightening name, it would be correct to state that's what the ghouls call you, because I heard they're afraid of you - Hanabi tried to explain her mistake. Nikolai chuckled a little, finding the young girl's attitude adorable.

Hansa: I won't lie, Santa Claus isn't scary at all.

Olivia: I admit, without context, it's a pretty idiotic name.

Hansa/Hanabi: Context?

Olivia: I'll tell you at lunchtime.

Nikolai: You have to be patient. People exaggerate the story sometimes.

Natasha: I don't think the problem is the story, but rather you killing a lot of people with your own hands, even ghouls - Natasha explained with a weak smile, remembering what Nikolai had done. Hansa and Hanabi looked at them in surprise.

Hansa: Wait.....you've killed normal people before?

Nikolai: I was a soldier above all else.

Sergei: Me too.

Natasha: I was a thief and I slit the throat of a madman who tried to abuse my sister.

Olivia: I killed the bastard who tried to hit my brother.

Boris: I heard people talking about murder? - Boris entered the room with Mikhail - I killed a guy with his own guts, that was funny.

Mikhail: I beat a guy up and then burned him alive.

Hansa: What the heck, did I join a group of psychopaths?

Hanabi: Buddha help me, I don't think I should have come......but it was my chance to meet Nikolai-Senpai. - Hanabi felt a slight fear of the duo that appeared, but then she looked at Nikolai and remembered her reasons for going to Russia.

Sergei: Are we really talking about this? Please, stop being childish......because you all know very well that no one compares to Nikolai when it comes to killing someone - Sergei said, looking at Nikolai, who was looking at the table playing with a pen - Nikolai.

Nikolai: Huh?.....sorry, I got distracted.

Natasha: 'He's adorable when his ADHD kicks in.'

Hanabi: 'Kawaii.'

Olivia: 'Still a bit of a dummy, old friend?'

Sergei: 'Sometimes it scares me that he's the best investigator.'

Hansa: 'He seems a bit absent-minded.'

Nikolai: What is it?

Sergei: Nothing, comrade. I'm just saying that we should build new bonds with our partners. After all, I even got one, but he's already waiting for me outside. We have an investigation to do, and you do too. Nikolai and Hansa, you will investigate something related to the Wendigo. We believe he may still be in the city. Search the more urban areas. Natasha and Olivia, you will investigate the area of a bloodbath that occurred in the workers' district. Hanabi, I have already assigned your partner. He's waiting for you at the workshop to get his weapon. He's a first-class agent, so be patient with him. His name is Viktor, one of our best students. I trained him myself. And finally, Boris and Mikhail, I want you to investigate more about the Crown. He was spotted in the more affluent areas. Understood? - Sergei asked, and everyone immediately agreed - That's all, dismissed.

With that said, everyone left, each duo to their assignment.

In the central area of the HQ, Nikolai and Hansa were walking towards the exit, until Nikolai heard someone call him, he turned to the side and saw Gregory along with another man, he was as old as the CCG leader, he wore a left eye patch and the right one had polycoria (double iris), white hair and beard due to age, his hair was quite long, covering his nape and combed back, a fuller beard than Gregory's, he carried a rosary with a cross and a bible attached to his waist, he wore a brown overcoat but underneath he wore clothes that looked like a priest, besides having several scars, the most striking being the claw mark on his mouth, Nikolai was surprised to see that man.

Nikolai: Professor Vladimir?

Vladimir: May God have him, my boy, you seem to have grown even more - Vladimir said, approaching Nikolai, who also approached and extended his hand.

Nikolai: It's a pleasure to see you, it seems the Lord hasn't taken you yet.

Vladimir: It seems the Lord still has plans for me on this earth, and as a believer, I must do His will, but what about you, my dear disciple? Have you been doing well? And our adorable little saint? I heard a ghoul invaded your home on Christmas, I swear in God's name if one of those demons did anything to that little soul, I will crucify him - Vladimir spoke with a certain disgust when remembering the ghouls, but also concern for Sofia.

Nikolai: I'm fine, and Sofia is recovering from the trauma, thank God the ghoul got scared when he saw I arrived, it seems divine punishment came early for Yule and a ghoul killed him - Nikolai explained the story differently, after all, he couldn't tell the truth.

Vladimir: It seems these demons can do good deeds, not even they like to see poor souls tormented - Vladimir said, letting out a sigh of relief, he then took two chocolates from his pocket and gave them to Nikolai - Here for you and Sofia, enjoy.

Nikolai: Thank you, professor.

Vladimir: For you too, my young man - Vladimir handed a chocolate to Hansa, who was confused but accepted.

Gregory: You and your habit of spoiling the young, even though Nikolai is already old - Gregory said, letting out a light laugh, and Vladimir looked at him with a smile.

Vladimir: What can I say, I like to reward my students.

Nikolai: The professor has always been kind to his students, but now I'm curious, are you the other special class that Sergei mentioned?

Vladimir: Yes, after hearing about the Красные Пожиратели (Red Devourers), I decided it was time to return, I can't let such a young generation die without doing anything, and also, if I'm going to die, I want it to be while protecting people, that's better than dying like an old man sitting in a chair.

Gregory: What an exaggeration, I wouldn't complain about dying sitting in a chair with a good drink - Gregory said, walking out of the place, Vladimir laughed a little seeing his old friend.

Vladimir: Of course you would think that, you drunkard, I'm surprised the drink hasn't killed you yet - Vladimir said, following Gregory, Nikolai and Hansa looked at them curiously.

Nikolai: Are you going somewhere?

Gregory: Yes, we have a very interesting case, we decided to help a little instead of standing still, it will be good to move our arms a bit.

Vladimir: You mean arm, right?

Gregory: Shut up, princess feet, let's go - Gregory said while pulling Vladimir by the collar of his overcoat, the priest laughed seeing his friend's reaction.

Hansa: They seem like good people.

Nikolai: They are, they argue a lot but they are great friends, but well, enough wasting time, we have an investigation to do, let's go - Nikolai said and then started walking again and Hansa followed him.

In the upscale areas of Moscow, Boris and Mikhail were investigating a place rumored to be a hideout of the "Red Eaters." This supposed hideout was an abandoned morgue. When Boris and Mikhail arrived, they were surprised by it.

Boris: A morgue? Seriously?

Mikhail: A good place, after all, we would never look in the obvious - Mikhail said as he got out of the car with Boris, Mikhail holding his briefcase and Boris adjusting his gloves - All set?

Boris: I hope to find something to kill here, otherwise I'll complain to Sergei.

Mikhail: What a great mood for someone who just became a special class.

Boris: And you, a special's assistant, but you're always in a good mood, right? - Boris said with a smile, and Mikhail laughed a little - Let's go, let's see what's in this morgue.

Soon, both entered the abandoned building. The entrance was as expected: dirt and papers scattered on the floor, broken things, worn-out tables like the chairs, lots of dust, and a ceiling falling apart. They searched the place, room by room, paper by paper. There didn't seem to be much besides reports of bodies and autopsies.

Boris: Nothing interesting, any luck?

Mikhail: None, just reports and more reports... Look, they treated the body of one of the Union's leaders - Mikhail said, picking up an autopsy paper, Boris turned to him with disinterest.

Boris: Anyone from our time?

Mikhail: Hmm... no, just some random guy... useless - Mikhail then threw the paper away and went back to searching - But Boris, can I ask a question?

Boris: Ah, sure, go ahead.

Mikhail: Do you suspect Sofia? - Mikhail asked without waiting, Boris was startled by the question and immediately turned to Mikhail.

Boris: What kind of question is that?

Mikhail: Well, I just thought it was strange. Sofia is blind, and she has very keen senses, which is funny, sometimes it doesn't even seem like she's blind. Not to mention that she can barely eat normal food, usually almost vomiting if she eats a plate of normal food, and not to mention that she can smell people. Even you, who are a professional at surprising ghouls, even you, who are known for being practically a shadow, are easily found by her. I don't know, Sofia seems very suspicious to me - Mikhail said calmly as if he were talking about something trivial, he wanted to see Boris's reaction... any reaction.

Boris: ... Actually... Sofia is a half-ghoul, that's why her senses are enhanced - Boris also said calmly, he went back to looking for clues while Mikhail froze, looking scared.

Mikhail: What?...

Boris: Sofia is a half-ghoul, Anastasia is a ghoul, I even suspect she is Baba Yaga, but I have no proof, and to be honest, it doesn't really matter to me - the Rasputin continued calmly, opening some drawers - Have you tried Nikolai's meatloaf?

Mikhail: Never.

Boris: It's made of human meat, but he mixes it with lamb and a lot of spices to disguise the taste. As for why Sofia is so deteriorated, it's because Nikolai poisons her so her RC cells aren't picked up by detectors. But the last time I saw her, I noticed she ate more calmly, she didn't even get sick, so Nikolai must have started decreasing the toxin amount - Boris said without showing anger or indifference, he just stopped and looked at Mikhail, who seemed in shock - What's wrong?

Mikhail: How... how can you say so much without seeming scared? You just revealed that Sofia is a hybrid, although I think it's an exaggeration for you to theorize that she's Baba Yaga's daughter.

Boris: I said I just think so, but I guarantee she's a ghoul, after all, only a monster would love a Rasputin. I guarantee that if Natasha knew the real Nikolai or "The Butcher," she wouldn't want to be near him.

Mikhail: The Butcher? First time I've heard that.

Boris: You don't think I'm going to give you all the information, do you? I don't want you to tell everything to the Red Eaters... you treacherous snake - Boris said with a smile, and Mikhail froze - What's wrong? Did you really think I wouldn't know? You should know that none of us trust you. Nikolai is suspicious of you, Sergei has already sent me to look for more about you, and I found you exchanging information with Бабочка (Butterfly), but I haven't revealed anything to the CCG yet, because I know you're also trying to bring Nikolai down, and luckily for you, I also want to kill him - he said calmly while staring at Mikhail, who was surprised.

Mikhail: You... want to kill Nikolai?

Boris: Yes, we've never gotten along, and with him gone... well, it doesn't change anything, I just want to kill him.

Mikhail: Do you mind if I ask why? After all, it's not common for a brother to want to kill his brother - Mikhail asked confused, and Boris just smiled.

Boris: As I said... I hate my brother.

Boris replied with a smile, and Mikhail was surprised by this. Boris just said they would discuss it further later, after their work period. Mikhail agreed, as this would be a difficult subject... a plan on how to kill Nikolai.

In the workers' districts, Natasha and Olivia were walking inside a chocolate factory. They looked around and saw bodies upon bodies, some on stairs, others in machines.

Natasha:God...so many dead...precisely in my favorite chocolate factory. Krásnaia chápotchka will make me think of this massacre now - Natasha said, seeing the bodies. She was already used to it, but now every time she ate a bonbon, she would remember this place.

Olivia:Your favorite brand is Krásnaia?

Natasha:Yep, the best of all. Do you have any?

Olivia:For me, all are worthwhile. If it's sweet, it's worth it for me. But if I had to choose, it would be Rulada, an excellent chocolate.

Natasha:Wow, they make a very good hot chocolate mix with it.

Olivia/Natasha:And a Rot Font to go with it is so good - both said, drooling a little thinking about so much chocolate. Olivia happened to look to the side and noticed a chocolate bar next to them. She approached without Natasha noticing and picked up the bar. She slowly began to peel the wrapper off the sweet, trying not to attract Nat's attention-

Natasha:You're going to share that, right? - Natasha said, appearing behind Olivia. The latter looked back a little with her good eye, seeing Natasha extending her hand - Give me some.

Olivia:.......NOM!! - Without delay, Olivia swallowed the entire chocolate in one bite. Natasha looked at her in surprise and then grabbed Olivia by the collar.

Natasha:You scoundrel!!!!! You could have shared at least a little piece!!!!! It's my favorite chocolate!!!!! - the shooter yelled while shaking her partner frantically, who was finishing swallowing the chocolate.

While Natasha was angry about the chocolate, a strange sound echoed throughout the factory. Both stopped and went to investigate. As they followed the sounds, they noticed the bodies scattered around, but something seemed strange. Stopping to notice, none of them showed any signs of being bitten, which was strange. They were killed but not devoured. They continued walking until they reached another area of the factory. They heard sounds of something being thrown, someone grunting with anger, and even screaming. Natasha quickly pulled out her musket, and Olivia also pulled out her rifle, which was a dark SVD Dragunov with some iron details. They kicked open the door and aimed their rifles. They soon saw the Ghoul with its Кагуне (Kagune) exposed. It had two wings resembling a butterfly. Both looked at it in surprise. The Ghoul soon turned to them. It was a mess: disheveled hair, clothes, and hands stained with blood, as well as vomit staining its mouth. Before it could do anything, Olivia and Natasha shot at the same time, hitting one of its eyes. Natasha was reloading, but Olivia shot three more times at the ghoul's head. After Natasha reloaded, she shot the ghoul in the heart. Its body fell to the ground with a crash. Both just stared without showing much emotion.

Olivia:Job done, and look, it's another ghoul of the type we use. Who knows, maybe we can make a Кинки (Quinqui) new one for you - Olivia said, looking at Natasha, who was reloading.

Natasha:Thank you, but we have plenty of Укакус (Ukakus) at base. I just prefer this musket.

Olivia:You prefer a Кинки with a musket design? Why?

Natasha:Because Nikolai gave it to me. He made my weapon himself - Natasha said with a smile, and Olivia looked at her in surprise.

Olivia:Wait, he knows how to create a Кинки?

Natasha:Not exactly. Nikolai doesn't know how to create Кинкис, he knows how to make prototypes. So much so that I actually shouldn't have a rifle, but an assault rifle. I asked for a Кинки in the mold of an AK, with a blade that could be attached and detached, and well, he delivered this - Natasha showed her musket, and Olivia looked at it in shock - But he did all the work. I remember his hands being very hurt and swollen due to the poison. I couldn't say no, besides him saying he would say he was going to make a new Кинки for me. So until then, I promised to use this musket until the day he gives me something new - Natasha said with a calm smile. Olivia listened to that and also smiled.

Olivia:That...is pretty adorable. I didn't expect you to be so attached to Nikolai. Of course, I've heard you've been partners for a long time, but I didn't expect a near romance in this.

Natasha:Actually, we had a history even before the CCG. He's the reason I'm alive right now, actually - Natasha said as she approached the Ghoul to make sure it was dead.

Olivia:What do you mean he's the reason you're here?

Natasha:It's a long story...want to hear it?

Olivia:Go ahead. After all, since we're partners, I think sharing stories helps us build trust.

Natasha:You have a good point. Well, let's go.
.
.
.
*This was a good few years ago, my parents were revolutionaries and well....the union found out.....and you know well what happened, after losing them it was just me and my little sister, Sofia.....we were very close, but as you expect, two young girls alone in a regime like that, we lost everything easily, the money ran out and the taxes soon made us abandon our home, we lived on the streets for a long time and to make matters worse it was precisely in winter......we were going to die that night, but God sent two angels that night*

Natasha was hugging her sister who had more orange hair but still had green eyes, she tried to cover Sofia with her coat and cloaks that she still kept, a horrible cold surrounded her, snow on her body, death approaching.

Natasha:'God.....please.....someone.....help us......help....my sister....' - Natasha thought.....a prayer she hoped would be heard, even if only her sister was saved, she wanted at least her to survive....

*I remember I fainted from the cold, and then I remember a warm sensation, I thought I was dead, but when I opened my eyes I.....was in a room, my sister was sleeping beside me, and on my other side.....Nikolai and Anastácia*

Natasha:Where.......where am I? - Natasha asked while trying to stand up, but she couldn't.

Nikolai:Take it easy, you're still very weak, we brought something for you to eat, my name is Nikolai and this is Anastácia.

Natasha:I......my name is Natasha and this is my sister, Sofia.

Anastácia:You must be hungry, here we made a stew for you, could you wake your sister? - Anastácia said with a smile while picking up a tray that was on top of a desk.

*I begged God for salvation, and he sent me two angels, my sister and I were saved, and from there he invited me to join the revolution, he told me the truth about the Union, and then he trained me, alongside him and Sergei we managed to overcome many difficulties, we were unstoppable together*
.
.
.
Natasha: From that day on, I was always Nikolai's partner, so much so that I almost never wanted to become a special class investigator, but now that we have few competent fighters, it seems my requests can no longer be heard - Natasha spoke while checking the ghoul's body, ensuring it was dead.

Olivia: So..... you've loved Nikolai for years now?

Natasha: Yes.

Olivia: Have you told him?

Natasha: Not yet, I mean, I used to ignore this feeling because he was in love with Anastácia and they soon got married, but after she died, I started to get closer to him, unfortunately we hardly ever had proper time, as we had to take care of Sofia.

Olivia: Your sister? Did something happen to her.

Natasha: No...... Nikolai's daughter, he named her Sofia in honor of my sister..... - Natasha spoke with a melancholic tone, Olivia didn't take long to understand that tone.

Olivia: I'm so sorry for your loss.

Natasha: Thank you..... but now, speaking of something good, the reason why *krasnaia* is my favorite chocolate is because Nikolai always gifted me with them, my sister and I loved it when he did that, that's when I developed a certain addiction to Nikolai's cooking, you should try it someday, especially the sweets he makes - Natasha spoke with a smile and Olivia chuckled a bit.

???: But why do they call you "Snake Eyes"? Since snakes aren't known for their vision.

Natasha: Oh no, that has nothing to do with vision, I have a small mutation in my eye - Natasha showed her eye more clearly, looking carefully they noticed a slight difference in her pupil, the black part resembled the eyes of a serpent, in addition to the emerald green - The "snake eyes" thing is a joke between me and Sergei, I call him 'brown boy' and he used to call me 'snake eyes', hence the nickname stuck with me, unfortunately Sergei became known as the wall.

Olivia/???: Hahahahahahaha that's hilarious - Olivia and the stranger were laughing... until Olivia stopped.

Olivia: Wait a second..... Who is this here???!?!?! - the investigator stopped and looked to the side, it was a woman wearing a red cloak and a white mask decorated with red flowers, Natasha immediately recognized who it was.

Natasha: ......Бабочка (Butterfly)......

Бабочка: Privet - the ghoul waved at them calmly, just as Natasha and Olivia pointed their rifles at her - .......How rude....

Natasha and Olivia were about to pull the trigger, but the butterfly was faster and grabbed both rifles, pointing them upwards, making them both shoot into the air. She then kicked Olivia hard enough to make her drop her weapon and fly a bit away. Natasha immediately pulled her musket down and cut the Ghoul's hand slightly with the bayonet. Without delay, the butterfly revealed her Кагуне, being of the Укаку (Ukaku) type, they resembled dark butterfly wings with red veins. Natasha was reloading her musket and was about to fire, but to her surprise, the butterfly fired first at the musket's barrel just as Natasha pulled the trigger, and it immediately exploded in the redhead's hand. Olivia, after recovering, grabbed her rifle and fired non-stop at the butterfly, who dodged by jumping from wall to wall until she tried to advance on Olivia, but she turned her rifle and used it as a club, hitting the butterfly and making her crash hard on the ground. She quickly recovered and moved a little away from her.

Бабочка: What a heavy rifle, huh? It even feels like a Кукаку hit me on the head - the Ghoul said, running her hand inside her cloak and noticing blood - Damn strong hit.

Olivia: You don't think I'll reveal my secrets that easily, do you?

Бабочка: No, but it's worth a try - she was about to advance, but then Natasha appeared behind her and tried to stab her, but she was faster and grabbed Natasha's arm and then threw her over her shoulders, but before Natasha fell, she moved and it was the butterfly who ended up falling - Shit!!

Natasha immediately tried to thrust her bayonet into the ghoul's heart, which she held with extreme ease. She then pushed Natasha away and without delay, she ran off, climbing the walls until she reached the window. She stopped for a second looking at the two, but before she could jump, Olivia shot at her. The butterfly felt her muscles paralyze and a horrible burning sensation, she saw small sparks coming out of the hole made by the bullet.

Бабочка: 'An electric bullet?!?!' - she thought as she fell out the window, without delay Natasha and Olivia ran out of the factory.

Outside, they searched for the butterfly, but to their surprise, they found nothing. Natasha and Olivia looked around for the ghoul, but there was no sign of her.

Olivia: What the hell?!?!?! Where is she?!?!?!

Natasha: She disappeared?! Are you going to tell me she can actually fly.

Olivia: Are you kidding me that they can fly now!!!! - Olivia said irritably while staring at the sky, expecting to see the butterfly flying, but she saw nothing - That bitch flies damn fast!!!

Natasha: .....Shit..... well, she escaped, let's get the other body, I'll need a new Кинки - Natasha said looking at her bayonet and then sighing.

Olivia: Look on the bright side, we just killed a Укаку, so we can use his Кагуне to create a new Кинки for you - Olivia said with a smile and Natasha chuckled a bit.

Natasha: Yeah, I guess I was lucky.
Both soon went to get the body, and on the wall, the butterfly finally revealed herself, pollen surrounding her.

Irina: That was close...... I thought if I got rid of Natasha's rifle, I would be safe, but who would have thought the new investigator had electric bullets..... I need to go back and inform Anastácia - she stood up with a little difficulty, on the way she took off her cloak and threw the mask away - Better this way.

In a more remote area with smaller buildings, Nikolai and Hansa were inside a car, they were going to their objective without saying much because they didn't have much to talk about, Hansa thought about what to say until a question came.

Hansa: Nikolai, what's your favorite color? - Hansa asked randomly in an attempt to strike up a conversation, Nikolai looked at him a little surprised, but thought for a moment.

Nikolai: I think green, after all, it reminds me of good things, agricultural fields, trees, a bit of salad, Natasha's eyes, green tea, and so on.

Hansa: Interesting, I expected red because of, you know? Santa Claus and everything.

Nikolai: Oh no, I don't like red, the only exception is Natasha, otherwise I hate any red, it brings me... memories - Nikolai said while looking away, Hansa noticed this and became slightly worried, thinking he had ruined the conversation - But what about you Hansa? Do you have a favorite color?

Hansa: Well, I think I really like gray and blue, gray reminds me of rainy childhood days, I remember sitting by the window watching the rain hit the glass, it was my greatest childhood pastime, and blue reminds me of the sea, it's beautiful and it calms me down - Hansa explained the reason for his favorite colors and Nikolai laughed a little.

Nikolai: Too bad we don't have a beach here Hansa, we'll owe you your swim.

Hansa: Haha, too bad, but tell me, how far are we from the place they said they saw the Wendigo?

Nikolai: 1 hour, thank God.

Hansa: You don't like riding in cars, do you?

Nikolai: No offense Hansa, but cars make me anxious, after all, we are too exposed to any attack, by the time we manage to get out, we are already being subdued - Nikolai said a little nervously while looking out the window, Hansa looked down and saw him tapping his foot lightly.

Hansa: A bit paranoid, don't you think?

Nikolai: Too much, I know... but I didn't get this scar on my mouth easily - Nikolai took off his mask and showed his mouth.

Hansa: I've always been curious, sir, forgive my rudeness, but how did you get that scar?

Nikolai: It was a long story, in short, they tried to blow me up in a car, I survived but with certain sequelae, like this mouth and burns on my body, my partner unfortunately died.

Hansa: I'm sorry for your loss.

Nikolai: May God have the soul of the poor fellow, it was his first week, but since that day I have avoided cars, I only ride with Natasha because she knows how to escape, and with you out of politeness - Nikolai said while covering his mouth, Hansa listened to this and returned his attention to the road.

Hansa: I understand, but don't worry Mr. Nikolai, I guarantee we won't be caught by surprise while we're in this car, after all, believe me when I say that God has blessed me with very good luck.

Nikolai: I'll trust your word Hansa, but if the car explodes, I won't pay.

Hansa: Oh, but you will.

They both laughed as they continued their conversation, when they arrived at the place where the Wendigo was supposed to be, the investigation began, but it didn't take long for them to realize that there was nothing there, they continued investigating a little longer but found nothing.

At the CCG, Sergei was with Hanabi, he was accompanying her.

Hanabi:Mr. Smirnov, are you sure you want to leave a first-class investigator with me? - Hanabi asked, a little worried, as she didn't know if she could keep a first-class investigator safe.

Sergei:I appreciate your concern for your partner, but I assure you Viktor is a competent man. Speaking of whom, try not to comment too much on his appearance, okay? - Sergei said, and Hanabi was confused. He soon opened the door, and in the office, a man wearing a CCG uniform and a classic Russian hat stood with his back to Sergei and Hanabi - Viktor, I've come to bring your superior, meet Hanabi Karabi, your new partner.

Hanabi:It's a pleasure to meet you Viktor, I hope we can get along well - Hanabi said in a polite tone, and Viktor soon turned to her. His face was hard to describe, the most striking feature was his eyes, which had burns as if he were staring into the person's soul. The left side of his mouth had a scar that showed his teeth. His eyes were cold as if they had no life, and his skin was slightly pale. Hanabi looked at him in surprise - 'He's quite scary......'

Viktor stared at Hanabi, without saying a single word. Hanabi became slightly nervous, thinking she had said something wrong or done something that bothered Viktor. He put his hand inside his trench coat and took out a... Russian doll. A Russian doll that resembled an elderly lady wearing a pink sweater with the inscription Бабушкина любовь (Grandma's love). Hanabi looked at it in surprise. She took the doll.

Hanabi:.....Thank you, she's adorable - Hanabi said gratefully and noticed Viktor smiling - You're not one for many words, are you?

Viktor{I can't speak, I lost the ability to speak after an accident involving a bomb} - Viktor made hand gestures explaining his lack of words, but soon he stopped to think that perhaps Hanabi wouldn't understand him.

Hanabi:That's a terrible thing, I'm so sorry about that Viktor-San - Hanabi said in a melancholic tone. Viktor looked surprised but then smiled.

Sergei:I see you two will get along very well. Your first mission will be simple, miss. Viktor will show you our areas and what ghouls are like in Russia. I hope you enjoy yourselves - Sergei said in a calm tone, smiling as he saw the new duo.

Viktor soon signaled Hanabi to follow him, and she did. After they both said goodbye to Sergei, they left. Soon, the investigator also moved to another room. He entered and found a man with short, messy black hair. His face was burned on the left eye and a bit above the mouth. He was blind in his left eye. His right eye was a more orangey tone. He wore a CCG uniform, carried a briefcase in his right hand, and in his left hand, he held a gray cape, a black tie, and red gloves.

Sergei:Mr. Klein, sorry for the wait. I hope the others treated you well - Sergei said with a smile and a polite tone, as his friend turned to him.

Friedrich:No problem, Mr. Smirnov. I used this time to get to know the base - Friedrich said in a polite and very low tone. He soon looked around - Isn't Mr. Rasputin here?

Sergei:No, young man, he's already left. But if you don't mind, I'll be your partner today - Sergei said in a playful tone, and Friedrich laughed.

Friedrich:No problem, sir. Please show me the extermination sites - the German said with a smile, and Sergei indicated the way.

Both left the place with Sergei going to show Friedrich around. The CCG was rebuilding... but perhaps... terrible times were coming.

Notes:

And that was the chapter, I thank Tristan, Dark and Nexus for the character ideas, being Olivia (Tristan) Valdmir (Dark) and Hansa (Nexus), if you missed seeing these two in action don't worry, in the next chapter we will have more of them, and it will be very interesting things, curiosities.

1: Nikolai has ADHD and extreme paranoia, he rarely gets distracted but he has extreme paranoia of feeling like someone is following him or Sofia.

2: Natasha always knew the musket was a terrible trinket, but she kept it because she accepted it as a gesture of Nikolai's love, which was not very wrong of her to think.

3: Irina had the ability to use a pollen that makes people see things or not see things.

4: The luck Olivia talks about with Natasha is that they killed an Ukaku-type ghoul, and they are rare to find in Russia, as they canonically are the kagunes that consume the most RC cells, and since Russia is a frozen land, you can imagine, right?

5: Boris hates his own brother, because he knows Nikolai is a monster who pretends to be a saint.

6: Mikhail was not the one who made the call to Gregory, this character will still be introduced.

7: Nikolai hates the color red because this color reminds him of his father, and he hates his father.

8: Viktor is a very kind and loving man to others, but everyone is afraid of him because of his appearance.

9: Friedrich, for those who saw the notices before the "question and answer" special, he is the protagonist of Lappen, Vorony takes place a few years after the creation of the German CCG, Sergei and Nikolai were of great help.

And that's it, I hope you enjoyed it and see you next time.
