Work Text:

Husk is cleaning out the arts and crafts supplies like Charlie told him to do, when he notices all of the broken crayons in the crayon bin were gone. Not replaced, just…gone. That was a bit odd and made him raise an eyebrow, but maybe someone had planned on putting in new ones later or forgot to replace them.

In the end, it wasn’t really his business to make a fuss about, so he left it be, not even finding it worthwhile to mention it to anyone.

When mere minutes after a crayon breaks it disappears, Husk begins to become interested. It doesn’t make much sense to him for someone to just want broken crayons, but it’s not the absolute weirdest thing he’s ever heard of.

But he can't keep himself from wondering what the fuck is going on.

Husk is walking into the room where Charlie keeps the art supplies when he notices a little Vaggie holding a small handful of broken crayons.

Vaggie makes a little surprised noise, looking like she's getting ready to bolt out of the room, as if she's been caught in some horrible crime.

“Woah, hey kid-” Husk said, gently taking her arm- enough to stop her for now, but not enough to restrain her if she does decide she still wants to run. “What are you doing?”

Vaggie looks up at him like a kicked puppy, and he smiles gently. “You're not in trouble, bug. What's happening, huh? What's all this for?”

“Me and Niffty collecting,” Vaggie murmurs.

Husk hums at that. “Is there a reason for that, or?...”

Vaggie blinks up at him. “Cause no one likes to use them, ‘sides Niffty.”

“And you've been doing all this?” Husk asks.

“Mhm.”

Husk hums in acknowledgement. Yeah, it made sense for Niffty to want the broken crayons, especially if she was regressed as well. Really, he didn't know what else he expected.

Notes:

Husk uses the pet name bug for Vaggie because I'm a Vaggie fictionkin and the Husk fictive in our system calls me that -august
