Chapter Text
Midoriya Izuku wasn't surprised when Aizawa showed up at his home the morning after All Might defeated All For One, he was just surprised he'd taken so long. Izuku had honestly been expecting to be arrested the morning after the League attacked the camp. He wasn't even surprised when Aizawa held handcuffs out for him before he got in the car. "Quirk suppression cuffs, right? Cute," he said with a smirk as he happily let Aizawa put them on and take his phone. Aizawa just growled at him, angrier with him now than he'd ever been, even though Izuku had complied with everything he demanded.
Izuku, is everything alright? Something just happened.
Everything's fine, Aizawa just finally decided to question me, Izuku responded to his truest friend, greatest love, and the main reason he was in this situation.
If you need rescue, just let me know.
You won't come yourself, will you?
Nah, I'll call my baby brother first and let him get Toshi. But if they fail, I reserve the right to come and kill Eraserhead. Then we'll go on the run and turn vigilante.
Charmer, Izuku responded with a smile. That was so like his beloved, to threaten murder while still respecting his dream of being a hero.
"Get out," Aizawa demanded. Much to Izuku's shock, he recognized the police precinct he'd been brought to: the same one he'd gone to after Shigaraki had threatened him at the Kiyashi Mall the previous month. "There's an officer inside with a quirk that allows him to know when you're lying. You will answer every question we have, or I will see to it that you're expelled and blacklisted from every hero school in the nation."
"You didn't need to tell me that last part, Eraserhead. You've been trying to expel me since the first day," Izuku replied. As they arrived at the interrogation room, he gave a smile and wave. "Hi, Detective Tsukauchi! It's good to see you again."
The detective stared in shock. "Midoriya? You're the student we're questioning? What's going on?"
"Long story, but it will probably come out during the interrogation," Izuku explained, his smile never wavering.
"Right, Aizawa, you can head to the other room. Midoriya, you're coming inside with me." Izuku did as he was told and took a seat on one side of the table while Tsukauchi took the other side. "Okay, first off, how long have you known Dabi?"
"I don't know who that is," Izuku responded.
"Don't lie to us!" Aizawa shouted from the other side of the glass. "Several of your classmates saw you talking to him!"
"I talked to several of the villains, but the only one who's name I knew was Muscular. So you're going to have to be more clear as to who Dabi is, sir," Izuku responded, putting every bit of disdain he could into his response.
Tsukauchi shuddered a bit at the mention of Muscular, probably due to what Izuku had done to him during their … was it fair to call it a fight? The villain had never come even close to laying a finger on him, after all, while Muscular would be hard pressed to ever use his quirk again. "This is Dabi," he stated, showing Izuku a picture of the villain.
Izuku's smile grew wider as he looked at it. Touya honestly looked amazing in the picture with the black trench coat and pants with the white shirt. And seriously, Dabi? What was with the Todorokis and their simple names? "Oh, him? I've known him all my life, but I only met him when I was … six, I think?"
"Are you saying that you know who he is?"
"Of course I know who he is! I told you that we met when I was six, do you really think we'd have not told each other who we were then?"
"When was the last time you were in contact with Dabi?"
"About fifteen or twenty minutes ago."
"That's impossible!" Aizawa yelled again. "I confiscated your phone! Tell the truth!"
"He was telling the truth," Tsukauchi countered. "And if you interrupt again, I'll bring charges against you for taking a minor's phone without probable cause. Now, did you tell Dabi anything about UA?"
"Of course I have, I talk to him all the time, including what UA is like. We've talked about my classes, teachers and my classmates. He doesn't have a good opinion of Aizawa, considers him too lazy."
"Did you tell him about the USJ visit or the training camp?"
"Not ahead of time. I didn't even know where we were going until we got there. Now, why don't you ask the question I know Aizawa really wants the answer to?"
Tsukauchi had no clue what the boy meant by that, so Aizawa demanded "How does Dabi have your quirk, and why couldn't I erase it?!"
"It's simple, Cremation is his quirk, not mine. As for how that is, and why you can't erase it, isn't it obvious?" With that, Izuku turned his palm up and, despite still wearing the handcuffs, created a ball of blue fire. "Todoroki Touya is my soulmate."
Tsukauchi paled at that. "Wait, Todoroki Touya? Any relation to Endeavor?"
"His eldest son, and my classmate Shoto's eldest brother."
"But why would the son of the number two hero turn villain?"
Izuku's smile turned into an evil smirk at that. "Now that is the right question, Detective, and I suggest that you find the answer before the next Billboard Chart is revealed. Because if you don't, then, well, Touya will tell the entire nation and our new number one hero will have a lot of explaining to do."
