Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Introduction and the Masters Eight?

Chapter Text

The Pokemon World is a vast and expansive world inhabited by both humans and magical creatures called Pokemon. Humans and Pokemon co-exist with each other, some prefer to battle together, seeking the thrill of the adrenaline that it causes, and some others prefer to team up with Pokemon to become Coordinators, focusing more upon the beauty aspects of Pokemon and the brilliance that their moves could entrance and awe the audience in Pokemon Contests and Pokemon Performances.

Now, we head to Pallet Town, located within the Kanto region. A nice, quiet countryside town that is surrounded by nature and also holds the honour of housing the world-renowned Professor Oak's laboratory.

Inside Professor Oak's lab, we see a small gathering of people; Professor Oak himself, his grandson and Ash's rival/frenemy Gary Oak, Tracey, former Gym Leader—well, part-time Gym Leader—Brock Harrison, former Gym Leader, Misty Waterflower—Ash's best friend, and travelling companion through his adventures in Kanto and Johto—our lead character, Ash Ketchum himself, along with his mother, Delia Ketchum.

The reason for the small gathering was that Professor Oak decided to hold a small get-together and party for Ash's most recent accomplishment: Becoming the Orange Islands Champion, even though it was an unofficial league, it still was a very handy accomplishment; one that Ash could brag about—not that he would do so—for years and years to come.

"So, Ash," Professor Oak started, finally speaking up for the first time once the pleasantries had been settled, and everyone had settled down. "What does it feel like being crowned victor of the Orange Islands?" He questioned the young trainer who had already made him so proud.

Ash blinked, before quickly swallowing the mouthful of cake that he had shovelled into his mouth as soon as he got the opportunity. "It feels a bit weird…" Ash admitted, before feeling the weight of Pikachu settle on his shoulder. "It feels like I'm still dreaming about that… it's just a shame it isn't an official league…" he murmured at the end.

"Ah c'mon Ash, even if it's not an official league, it is still a wonderful achievement," Misty spoke out quickly, flashing a slight smile towards her secret crush.

Brock grunted, nodding his head at Misty's words. "Indeed, not many people can say they are the Orange Islands Champion, Ash,"

"Pheh!" Gary suddenly exclaimed, gazing towards Ash with a hint of jealousy, yet also a hint of pride. "Just wait, maybe I'll challenge you for that title after a bit of revenge for beating me in the Silver Conference!"

Instead of backing down from said challenge, Ash suddenly had a determined glint in his eyes, before looking over his shoulder to face Gary—who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and a smug smirk upon his face—and he proudly declared. "Anytime, anywhere!"

"Pika! Pika!"

For Delia, she couldn't help but titter lightly, her eyes closed with a brilliant, maternal smile on her face as she gazed at her darling little boy. She sniffled lightly and wiped her index finger beneath her eyes.

They grow up so fast~

However, just as Ash was about to reach for yet another piece of cake, there was a sudden bright flash of light so bright that it caused Ash to immediately squint his eyes closed. Idly, he could hear the cries and exclamations of surprise coming from Pikachu, his mother, friends—and Gary Oak—and Professor Oak too.

A few moments passed, and Ash slowly opened his eyes once the bright light finally faded. He shook his head to regather his senses, but then he tilted his head in confusion ever so slightly when he noticed a massive screen on the other side of the room.

His mouth dropped open before he closed his mouth with an audible *click, and he blinked in confusion. "What… the?" He muttered to himself.

"Pi…ka?" Pikachu murmured, sharing its trainer's confusion, although one could see sparks quickly forming from his cheeks, just in case he needed to protect his best friend and the others.

"How did a screen appear? And out of thin air too…" Brock spoke out, shock apparent in his voice as he slowly approached the massive screen.

"I don't know…" Misty murmured, a spark of concern and trepidation in her voice. Out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed that the Oak's, and Delia were also looking at the screen, equally weary and confused as they were.

Although she could see Professor Oak muttering under his breath, his fingers clasped upon his chin with a narrowed gaze as he tried to put an explanation to this unforeseen, and unbelievable event.

However, unknown to them, at least currently, that all over the world, from around the Kanto region, all the way towards the Galar region, screens like this were appearing everywhere and everywhere.

From malls to city squares, office buildings, Pokemon School, and even homes of regular, everyday people.

However, for those that were in a space not able to hold such a large, and intimidating screen, a much smaller, twenty or so inch screen followed them around everywhere, always following their eyesight, and staying just far enough away that they couldn't be touched by an outstretched hand.

It didn't matter where you were, one or two of these screens appeared everywhere, making it very hard for someone to not notice a giant, floating black screen that looked somewhat akin to a wavering portal in fantasy novels.

For those in positions of authority, such as the police departments, Pokemon Centres, the Internation Police, Regional Champions, and their Elite Four members were dealing with an influx of calls, having to try and deal with the rapidly rising panic of the populace, along with having to quickly try and figure out whether this was an attack or not.

Silver Town, Kanto-Johto High Command

Within the highly guarded, yet also prominent building in Silver Town, the PLA Office was currently in a right panic and buzz; the PLA President, Charles Goodshow, and the Elite Four members of both Kanto and Johto—Koga, Will, Karen, Bruno, Agatha, and Lorelei—and the Champion of both Kanto and Johto, were in an important meeting about upcoming plans for the next year's Indigo League, and the Silver Conference.

But then the meeting instantly derailed, and everyone was on guard as soon as the massive screen suddenly appeared within the room, on the far side of the wall so that everyone could see it.

"What the actual fuck is this!?" Lance exclaimed in shock, his hand having shot towards his Dragonite's Poke Ball from sheer instinct. "What is the meaning of this?"

"Whatever it is… it's happening everywhere, all across the regions, not just in Kanto or Johto," Lorelei spoke out, placing her phone back inside her skirt pocket, having just been bombarded by different images on social media of these screens everywhere, ranging from Kanto, all the way to the Galar region.

Bruno suddenly grunted, folding his arms, yet a bead of sweat could be soon on his brow as he glanced towards the screen that took up half of the furthest wall of the room. "We should stay alerted… whatever this is, it could be dangerous,"

Many heads nodded at this, agreeing with Bruno's sentiment upon the matter.

The sound of a phone being placed back into its docket caused many pairs of eyes to shoot towards the PLA President, who had a small grimace upon his aged face. "The International Police is still looking at whatever this is… but one thing is for certain, it has caused a huge panic for the public."

Koga, who was closest to the screen, reached out hesitantly to try and touch the screen, but he gave a small noise of shock as his hand simply phased right through the screen, like it wasn't even there. "Whatever this is… we can't even touch it…"

Humming in thought, Lance quickly pulled out a small cellphone from his pocket—something that looked ocmpletely unlike any other cellphone in the general public—and said. "I will contact the G-Men, we have to see if the situation is dangerous, and take action accordingly."

"Indeed," Charles spoke out. "I have already contacted the International Police, and the Ranger Union, they are looking over what is causing this as high priority."

Ever Grande Stadium, Hoenn Region

In the spectacular, and aweinspiring Ever Grande Stadium, the Hoenn Elite Four, which consisted of Drake, Sidney, Phoebe and Glacia, with the Steven Stone, the Regional Champion, and Wallace, the former Regional Champion, and current Contest Champion, were looking at the giant screen that had appeared before them, each of them wearing baffled expressions, but one could easily see how tense and alert they were.

"Have you found anything on why this is happening?" Steven spoke out seriously, glancing towards his Elite Four, and his best friend. However, upon seeing them shake their heads, a frown made its way onto his face as he steepled his fingers together and leaned forward so his elbows were on the table he was sitting at.

"Nope." Sidney spoke out. "Sorry, champ, even the president had said they don't know whats causin' this mess neither."

"Darlins, from what I'm seeing on the net, is thats its happening everywhere. Not just in Hoenn," Wallace pointed out, briefly turning his phone so the others could see the various images and news outlets reporting on this unknown phenomenon.

This only caused Steven to frown even further. "What of the contest circuits in Lilycove happening today?" He asked, pointing his question towards Wallace.

Wallace merely sighed tiredly, his shoulders drooping in disappointment. "They were going to start soon. However, all the screens suddenly stopped working and spazzed out." He said, remembering what had occurred before he quickly rushed here as quickly as his Pokemon could. "Then, a large screen appeared within the sky of Lilycove, nearly covering the entirety of the city."

"I see…" Steven murmured. "I hope whatever this is, that its not dangerous." He then glanced towards Phoebe and Glacia. "Pass on a message to the gym leaders in the cities; to tell them to make sure no public panic is further exacerbated, and inform the news channels that the high command is looking over the situation.

"Of course, sir," Glacia said, dipping her head in respect towards her champion.

Phoebe meanwhile gave a brilliant, if a little nervous smile as she quickly stood up from her post, and gave a playful twirl. "Right'o sir!"

Petalburg City, Hoenn

Inside the residence of the Maple family; the family of four, which consisted of Caroline Maple, Norman Maple, the Normal type Gym Leader, and their children, eleven year old May Maple, and eight year old Max Maple, were just finishing up their evening meals, however, with the giant screen appearing within their dining room, it caused everyone to stop, and just stare in apprehension.

Although for Max, he was looking at the screen with relative curiosity for someone his age. "Dad, what is that?"

"Well, it's a screen, Max," Came May's rather snarky response, showing her personality that came up in unknown situations to her.

A tick mark formed on Max's temple, before he gave a stink-eye towards his sister. "I know that, May! I meant what is a screen doing in our dining room!"

In a classic move to showcase petty sibling rivalry and arguments, May simply stuck her tongue out towards her younger brother, causing Max to growl at that action.

"I don't know, Max," Norman spoke out, quickly breaking off whatever argument was soon to follow between his kids. "But whatever it is, your mother and I promise you that it doesn't harm any of us,"

Glancing out the window of dining room, a concerned look overcame Caroline's features. "It doesn't help that another screen is towering over what seems to be the entirety of Petalburg City."

Lily of the Valley PLA Office, Sinnoh

"Is this the work of a Psychic type?" Bertha spoke, tearing her gaze away from the screen, and towards Lucian, a fellow Elite Four member who happened to have a specialty towards Psychic-type Pokemon.

Lucian, meanwhile, had a frown upon his face as he gazed at the screen. "No, I don't think a Psychic-type Pokemon has enough power to make these screens appear. Plus, my Alakazam doesn't detect any psychic energy emitting from this screen," He admitted, before giving a faint smile and nod towards his ace Pokemon, and returning him to it's Poke Ball. "Not even the famed, and mythical Latias and Latios could be able to do this."

"Well, whatever it is-" Cynthia said, stepping into the room with an unreadable expression set upon her face. "-I just hope we get answers soon… it might be something big if its happening all over world, until then, make sure to monitor any suspicious happenings in Sinnoh, the last thing I want to find out that this is a scheme of Team Galatic!"

Lucian, Bertha, and the other two members of the Sinnoh Elite Four, Flint and Aaron nodded their heads, each of them wearing a frown upon their faces as they thought of this potentially being a scheme of Team Galactic.

Veilstone City, Sinnoh

In a rather modest, yet spacious house, sat two brothers on the living room couch; one of them was looking at the screen with his usual serious, and rather uninterested expression, whilst the older one was looking at the screen with a hint of trepidation on his face.

These two were Paul, who would become Ash's rival in about two years' time, and the one sitting next to him, was Reggie, his older brother.

"What the hell is this thing?" Paul uttered out, still staring at the black screen that was covering up their television in front of them.

Reggie simply shrugged his shoulders. "I wish I had an answer for this one, Paul…"

Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh

In a comfortable, modest abode in the small, semi-rural area of Twinleaf Town, we see a mother-daughter duo looking at the screen with a worried expression. Well, on the daughter's face, her concern was more evident and readable, compared to the subtle frown and furrowed brows of her mother, who was in the kitchen looking over the bench top into the living room.

"Mom, what is this?" Dawn asks, gesturing with her head towards the giant screen at the front of the wall, although her hands were currently occupied; currently scritching and petting the sleeping Glameow on the armrest of the couch she was sat on. "I was reliving some of your past contest performances, when the television cut out, and suddenly this appeared in front of it.

Johanna sighed, putting down the small plate that was filled with a small helping of fruit and berries. "I don't know dear, but whatever it is, its happening all around the region." She said, before glancing outside the kitchen window, and frowning once again as she saw a massive screen literally hanging over the entirety of the small town.

Vertress City, Unova Region

The PLA HQ—Unovan Brance—in Vertress City, we see the Unova Champion, Alder looking rather serious for once, sitting comfortably, although rather tensly in plush looking seats behind him, sat his Elite Four members, Shauntal—the rather eccentric and bookwormish—Ghost-type member, Marshal—the rather loud and boxing lover—Fighting-type member, Caitlin—the so called 'Sleeping Beauty' of Unova—the Psychic-type member, and Grimsley—the rather stoic, and withdrawn—Dark-type member, looking at the screen before them.

Within a certain restaurant in the Unova region, Cilan and his brothers were also looking at the screen, all of them having confused and puzzled expressions upon their faces.

"So, it appears that this thing is happening all over the world…" Alder spoke out, rubbing his chin with his index finger and thumb.

Shauntal nodded her head, putting her pen down on the table, "Yes, Champion, and we have yet to find out an explanation about this."

"Then keep me, and the region informed on any update." Alder spoke out to his Elite Four members, who nodded their head, before turning his attention back towards the black screen that was wavering slightly. "Just what are you?" He muttered.

"Do you think it could be the work of a secret organization?" Caitlin spoke out after finishing a rather cute yawn as she tiredly rubbed her eyes.

"If so!" Marshal quickly spoke out, his fist clench and raised. "We should take action, and strike them down now!"

"For now, we wait," Alder said, glancing towards Marshal and subduing him with a mere glare—something that was quite rare coming from Alder—"The PLA President has informed the International Police, and Ranger Union, whilst Lance has contacted the G-men; they are quickly scouring and working out what exactly is happening, and the cause of it.

Village of the Dragons, Unova

In the biggest, most grand building in the Village of the Dragons, we see a certain future Dragon-trainer, Iris, with the Village Elder—having been in the middle of an important lesson—and surprisingly enough, the aged Opelucid City Gym Leader, Drayden looking at the big screen, which had surprising appeared out of nowhere in the village that lacked many electronic essentials, the entire village rather living without the hassle of the overabundance of modern technology.

"Elders… why is a screen here?" Iris asked, concern clear in her tone as her Axew quickly buried itself in her hair with a small "Xew!"

For once, the Elder looked completely out of answers. Her mouth opened and closed a few times, before she exhaled sharply through her nose, before sending her gaze towards Drayden. "Anything?"

Drayden simply frowned, and crossed his arms over his chest. "I wish I had answers, Elder." He grunted out, keeping a cautious gaze upon the screen.

Lumiose City, Kalos, PLA Kalos Branch

In the highrise that belonged to the overarching governmental building of the PLA, this Kalos Champion, Diantha quickly rushed into the meeting room, having quickly excused herself from the middle of a movie shoot when these screens suddenly started appearing everywhere in the Kalos region.

Overall, she was a little frustrated, at having to rain check this movie shoot—which had already been delayed three times in the past few months—but the importance of this sudden phenomenon and her duty as regional Champion quickly overtook the frustration that was threatening to boil over within her.

Of course, she was a little surprised to see her Elite Four members—who took a more active role in the region leadership than her—already being gathered, and from what she could see, there was a few stacks of paperwork going over the rules, additions and changes being made to the Kalos League later on this year.

"Champion, it's great to see you once again, although I wish it was in better circumstances." Malva spoke out respectfully towards her regional Champion, bowing her head ever so slightly towards the Champion and star actress of the Kalos region.

"Thank you, Malva, and indeed." Diantha said with a small nod, before turning towards the Water-type Elite Four member, Siebold. "Have we got any answers yet?"

Siebold merely shook his head. "I'm afraid not." He answered earnestly. "We can only wait for further reports from the International Police, and the PLA."

Diantha sighed wearily, knowing that this was going to be a pain in the ass to deal with the reprecussions of the event, and the amount of paperwork she had to fill out afterwards…

Why did she have to become the Champion of the Kalos region? Oh right… it was also her dream…

Damn it… and she also just couldn't retire without any warning… drat.

"What surprises me, is the fact that we can't even touch these things!" Wikstrom, the Steel-type Elite Four member, and someone who values honor and chivalry a bit too highly, reached forward. However, his hand simply phased through

"It makes me wonder…" Drasna spoke out, her voice soft, yet easily carrying through the room. "If this is a work of Arceus, or maybe someone from the Creation Trio, like Dialga and Palkia…"

Having always been a bit more… religious than other folk in the region; hailing from Sinnoh's Celestic Town, Drasna's grandparents had always told her stories, folklore, and even myths about Sinnoh's dieties of Dialga and Palkia, whilst the more rare and highly controversial topic of Giratina too.

But looking at the screen in front of her, it truly made her wonder if this was an act of God, or from the Dieties themselves to show something that needed to be seen to the masses; and what better way then to bend the very fabrics of time, and space?

"Honestly…" Malva spoke out, biting the inside of her cheek. "It… honestly might be the case…"

As much as she loathed to admit it, as she didn't get along with Drasna that well, their personalities and values just too different from each other, she had to agree with the Dragon-type Elite Four member.

Even if it did mean that she was never going to let this down from said Dragon-type Elite Four member.

Lumiose Tower, Kalos

Inside of the private homestead located on the top of Lumiose Tower, thirteen year old Clemont—the newest Electric-type Gym Leader of the Kalos region—and his seven-year old sister, Bonnie, whom was hugging their father, Meyer, were all looking at the screen that had suddenly appeared within their home.

Although Bonnie was a little fearful, and Meyer who was looking at with curiosity and apprehension; Clement was the total opposite, geeking out over the sudden appearance, his face right up close towards the thing and muttering under his breath. "I still can't find the scientific reason behind this…"

Yeah… no fear in that one right there…

"Daddy, I'm scared!" Came Bonnie's high-pitched whine as she hugged her father's leg even closer to her body.

Suddenly, a large hand came down and ruffled her blonde hair, causing her to pout slightly, but still lean into the touch. "Don't worry, everything will be alright Bonnie!" Meyer said, before muttering under his breath so lightly that Bonnie didn't hear it. "I hope…"

Vaniville Town, Kalos

In the small town located in the south of Kalos, we see another Mother-Daughter duo within their homestead, who were looking a little gobscmaked at the sudden appearance of a wavering screen in their living room which seemingly overlapped with their television.

However, the young girl, who only just turned twelve years of age, was a little scared and had launched out of seat, and started to babble out nonsense, whilst he mother managed to keep herself calm, before focussing on calming her daughter down.

"H-how… w-what?" Serena muttered out. "H-how did that screen appear?"

Hugging her daughter closer to her body, Grace placed a small, calming kiss on her daughter's scalp, which seemed to do the trick as Grace felt her daughter's body relax into her own. "I don't know, dear, but all I know-" She started, before catching a glimpse of another screen outside the window, and probably a few others around the town as well. "-Is that we aren't the only ones facing this problem."

Gloire City, Kalos

Inside of a massive, grandiose stadium in Kalos; a certain young Kalos Queen and her ever faithful instructor were located. The latter was annoyed that the performances had been cancelled indefinitely due to the screens appearing out of nowhere and throwing a mass panic around, and even worse was the fact that no matter what they tried, the screens that didn't appear out of thin air were no longer working, meaning they couldn't even broadcast anything!

"What in the name of Arceus is happening!" Palermo screamed out, her anger palpable at the current moment. "This has ruined everything, we can't perform, nor can we broadcast anything… the poor revenue…" She ended up trailing off into a soft whisper at the end, her heart clenching at the prospect of all the hard work not being paid off in a gratuitous fashion.

Meanwhile, the youngest Kalos Queen had a small sweatdrop appear on her brow, and she tittered awkwardly at her mentor and instructor. "Well, there is nothing we can do about it…" Aria spoke out, although inwardly she was sighing in relief as she finally got a chance to relax, and not have a slave driver constantly hound on her to become better, or for her footwork to be perfect down to the smallest of inches.

Although, she was also curious, yet worried about the phenomenon that had appeared before them.

Melemele Island, Alola

On Melemele's island, we found a particular Pokemon school, where the regional Professor, Professor Kukui was teaching a small class of children ranging from ten to thirteen year olds. His current class was about a brief introduction and general basis of the Hoenn region, after last weeks' class of the Kanto and Johto region.

As Alola was still mainly considered to be a mere vacation destination rather than an 'official' league by most other regions, simply because of the lack of the League System, nor a regional Champion—something that would change within the future, whether near or far—Professor Kukui, and Samson Oak—the cousin to Professor Oak—decided that it would be best to slowly introduce the younger generation of the Alola region, and expose them to the customs of the other regions, just in case they ever made a League System that will more align with the other regions, whilst also trying to uphold the customs of the Alola region.

However, whilst in the middle of the lesson—which was going over the importance of Mt. Pyre of the Hoenn region—everything suddenly flickered and dimmed. Of course, that sent the young children into a panic.

He could see Lillie, one of the most shy and withdrawn girls in the class start to cower in fear like she had just interacted with a Pokemon—something Professor Kukui, and Samson both prayed would be solved or diluted in the future—whilst Kiawe, having taken the unofficial role of 'big brother/best friend' to the younger kids having to keep his cool and try to calm the others down.

"Now, now!" Professor Kukui called out, extending his hands out in an inviting manner, hoping to placate the scared children. "There is nothing to be afraid of, not when Samson or I are here,"

"That's right!" Samson spoke out, nodding his head firmly in assurance. "Nothing will happen to you kids!"

"B-but, Professor!" Lillie squeaked out, her eyes peaking out from behind her blonde fringe, her lips quivering

"Sometimes there are just things science can't explain," Mallow, the second oldest child of the classroom spoke out, doing her best to gently rub Lillie's back to calm her down.

"As much as I had to admit, that is true," A rather plump boy by the name of Sophocles said, his partner, a small little Togedemaru also chanted its name in affirmation towards the plump boy.

Aether Paradise, Alola

The very same thing was happening within the Aethir Paradise, screens and computers were glitching and spazzing out like a rogue Rotom had hacked the systems. However, much to their relief, it seemed as though nothing was malfunctioning and causing havoc within the impressive facility.

The Kahunas of each island had all been interrupted in theri daily activities as well; their main concern was the wellbeing on the nearby Pokemon, and the local population of the nearest town and or village they were nearby.

Unseen to all of the Alolan population, however, was that deep on each island, each of the Tapu's that protected their chosen island, and the Alola region as a whole, had started acting weird; often becoming lost in thought, or their eyes randomly glowing as they chanted their own name.

Deep down, they knew something was happening, and whatever it was, it was going to be for the best. A deep, paternal voice echoing deep within their very souls; their very beings saying that this was for the best, and not to cause worry.

But each of them had a question floating through their mind, and for the life of them they couldn't figure it out.

What was the 'Chosen One'? Was it a who, or was it an it?

And why did this voice, that they instinctively knew to obey and listen to, why was it so calm?

Hammerlock City, Galar

In the medieval fortress like city of Hammerlock, the Galar regional Champion was waiting for his best friend—along with the person that was the closest thing to a rival—Raihan. He and Charizard were simply enjoying the beautiful weather that was gracing the region for the day.

However, suddenly Leon's entire body tingled; almost akin to a sixth-sense making itself known in his body, and he suddenly became guarded. His ace Pokemon, Charizard, noticing his trainer's sudden demeanor change, suddenly became much more fierce looking, his narrowed eyed gaze glancing in every direction, wary of any danger that might be in the area.

Then, with a sudden 'glitch' happening in the very air before them, caused both of them to be on guard, with Charizard already priming himself up to unleash the strongest of Flamethrower he could produce.

However, Charizard blinked upon seeing a massive screen suddenly appear right in front of him. Glancing out of the corner of his eye, Charizard nearly snorted upon seeing Leon's gaze towards the object.

Being near starry-eyed, yet cautious, which really was a humorous mix, if Charizard was being honest.

"Charizard, be ready," Leon said, his voice losing the mirth he normally had, truly showcasing his persona of the 'Undefeated Monarch' of the world. "If there is any sign of danger, full permission to unleash on it."

Charizard grunted in acknowledgment to his trainer's request, before turning his attention back towards the screen, smoke started to gently escape his nostrils as the flames ignited within his body.

With Leon, he quickly grabbed out his Rotom phone, before quickly going into a messenger app that had each of the Galarian Gym Leaders—even the ones that had previously rotated out at the start of the year—and gave a voice message that was instantly heard by all twelve of them. "Make sure everyone is ready to counter any attack should they arise. If you are in the vicinity to the public, please calm everyone down!" With a small click, his voice message ended, before he put the device away, and stared at the screen in front of him. "As the Champion of Galar… no, for my home region, I will not let anything harm it!"

All around the world, everyone watched with baited breath, their attention unable to be swayed away from the massive screen—or screens—surrounding them. The apprehension, fear, and curiosity bubbling within them was reaching breaking point as they continued to watch the black screen, waiting for something… anything to happen.

Even within the deepest lairs and most unobscure buildings in the world, the evil organisations, their leaders and their Admins were watching the screen, unable to formulate any world ending plans, or plans to cause havoc or trying to find their respective Legendary Pokemon.

However, the sound of static soon rippled through the very atmosphere itself, causing everyone to tense up. Then, suddenly the screens in front of them flickered to life, before in large, white lettering, a simple sentence appeared.

And that single sentence only furthered people's curiosity and intrigue.

Five years in the future…

Silver Town, Kanto-Johto High Command

"Five years in the future!?" Agatha, the most experienced, and most powerful Elite Four member of the Kanto region exclaimed. "Is this some kind of joke?"

Will merely hummed, his glasses glinting slightly in the light, his intrigue piqued. "So we are going to see the future?" He questioned, ignoring the most displeased look that Agatha was sending him.

Bah, she might be experienced, but she was still an old coot!

Lance, meanwhile, looked stunned. Even taking a step back in shock. "B-but, how is that possible!?" He exclaimed. "Immediately contact the Professors, and ask them if this is possible or not, surely there has to be some explanation for this!"

Pallet Town, Kanto

"Woah!" Ash exclaimed, his eyes wide and shining. Pikachu on his shoulder also looked intrigued, leaning forward so much that he nearly toppled off his perch on his trainer.

"F-future?" Gary started, looking wide-eyed towards the screen. "Does that mean it will show us the future? Gramps, is this a joke, or is it actually possible?"

Professor Oak, for all of his knowledge on Pokemon, and some of the more finer details in each species, simply stood there, stunned, his mouth almost resembling that of a Magikarp with how much it opened and closed. "It shouldn't be possible…" He said. "But… knowing that these screens appeared all over the world, and are following us… I don't think it's impossible anymore…"

Looking around the room, he saw Tracey sitting on the couch, sketching down the very scene before him with spectacular detail. Delia Ketchum was looking at the screen confusedly, but somehow now clutching Ash closer to her body. Misty and Brock were sitting on another couch that had been moved from another part of the lab, also looking confused, but intrigued.

Suddenly, the writing on the screen faded away, before it showed a video, that left everybody entranced.

A very large, and advanced looking, absolutely stunning stadium that belayed the abilities of modern architectures and building techniques was shown, filled with thousands upon thousands of cheering people, both trainers and regular, everyday people, and even in the Media section, it was nearly filled to the brim with reporters, all with various sorts of Pokemon from across the regions filling their sections.

Across the world, everyone looked on in amazement, taking in the truly breathtaking scene of such a modern looking stadium—many of whom couldn't pinpoint where in the world this stadium was located.

At least, until the name of the Galar Region appeared just underneath it, surprising many as they weren't aware of the newly established region.

Meanwhile, those in the Galar region felt a swell of pride well up within their chests—along with a hint of confusion—at having their most glorious stadium in all of the region, being located in Wyndon, being shown on the screen.

Silver Town, Kanto-Johto High Command

"The Galar region?" Will murmured, adjusting his glasses ever so slightly as he stared at the screen, smiling slightly at just how packed the stadium was. Obviously something big was happening, or was about to begin.

"I've never heard of the region myself," Bruno admitted. "But that stadium looks spectacular, truly a modern marvel."

"The Galar region, located North-East of the Kalos region." Lance told his Elite Four members, who nodded gratefully at the information given to them. "I've never visited it, but I have heard plenty about it." He added on. He then shot a glance towards Goodshow, who was looking at the screen with a proud smile upon his face. "Does this stadium actually exist?"

Charles Goodshow nodded his head. "Yes, Wyndon stadium, the PLA has recently made stronger ties and connections with the Galar region, and the Champion is said to be extremely strong." He admitted. "But, if this is from the future, then why are they showing us this?"

"Do you think someone from the Galar region is responsible for this? To showboat or to finally put their name out there to the masses?" Lorelei questioned.

Goodshow simply shook his head. "I don't think so. Officials have informed me that even this is happening the Galar region itself, and people are expressing their confusion too."

"So it's true… they are showing us something from the future… but the question is why, and what is this?" Agatha questioned, gesturing towards the packed stadium. Never in her long life had she ever seen a stadium so packed.

With Ash and Friends

"Wow!" Ash cried out in awe, his eyes filled with stars! Then a massive, excited grin formed on his face as he quite literally started to buzz in his seat. "That stadium is so awesome! Imagine battling in that!"

"Pika!" Pikachu cried out, his tail going ramrod straight at the thought.

'Oh, Ash, never change~' Delia mentally cooed, having gotten over her hesitation upon seeing her son's sheer excitement.

"The Galar region?" Misty questioned, having never heard of that region before. "Have you heard anything about it, Brock?"

However, much to her annoyance, Brock also shook his head. "No, I don't," he answered with a frown. "I might search about it, I knew it existed thanks to being a Gym Leader, but apart from that… nothing."

Misty simply sighed, before shaking her head as she noticed that Ash and Pikachu were looking a bit too intently at the stadium.

With Cynthia, and the Sinnoh Elite Four

"The Galar region, huh?" Cynthia murmured, momentarily breathtaken by the beautiful sight showing in front of her.

"Have you heard anything about that region, Cynthia?" Flint, the excitable and rather rowdy Fire-type Elite Four member questioned.

Cynthia nodded her head. "Yeah, and I do wish to visit the region in the future, maybe they have some fascinating history or ruins to explore." She added on, unable to hide her excitement from such a potential.

"By looking at the stadium, and the amount of people gathered-" Aaron spoke out, his voice tinged with excitement. "That something big is happening in this very stadium!"

The screen then shows two figures running into each other. Though their faces were not visible, but from the video that the screen showed, it showed the two figures to be running someone, then their voices were heard, sounding rather youthful, but with a hint of matureness to their tones, signifying their slightly older age than one would expect.

"You almost got it!" A girl's voice exclaimed in the video.

"Huh… oh, hello…" A male voice called out, however, whatever name was spoken too wasn't revealed, the sound cutting out in a particular choice of editing.

"Pika!"

"So, we are both in the Masters Eight, huh?" The male voice said, excitement clear in his tone.

"Right, and I have been looking forward to seeing you!" The girl's voice said, her tone equally as enthused as the males.

"Same for me! Since we've come so far since…" The male's voice trailed off, his voice becoming distorted once again.

"I gotta win!" They both shout at the same time, their voices reaching fever pitch.

All around the world, the phrase of 'Masters Eight' had caught the attention of many, many people. Whether it be beginning trainers, newbies, veterans. Even the contest stars, and Pokemon performers were intrigued by such a thing. However, the phrase certainly caught the Elite Four members, the Regional Champions, and most certainly Charles Goodshow off guard.

And as the video continued to play, people were very disappointed as they weren't able to see the faces of the figures in the video, although they were given the briefest of respite upon hearing their voices, signifying that one was a girl, whilst the other was a boy, and that one of them seemed to have a Pikachu with them.

For the Elites, and the Champions, they were a little disappointed at not having the opportunity to see who these two individuals were that were in such a tournament, nor who to keep a special eye on when their journey's began, or if they have begun their journeys.

With Ash and Friends

"The Masters Eight?" Misty said, a confused frown on her voice. She certainly wasn't aware of such a thing, and she was a Gym Leader… well, a semi-Gym Leader when her sister's weren't being pains in the ass.

"Hmm, it might be something only in the future, I think." Brock murmured. Then, his mind replayed one of the voices in the video, or more specifically, the male's voice. "Though why do I feel like one of those voices is somewhat familiar?" He questioned, more to himself then anything as he continued to ponder.

"Yeah, I felt like that too…" Misty said, that voice also giving her a really big nagging feeling within her gut.

For, Ash, Delia, Gary, Tracey and Professor Oak, well, they were too entranced on the video for their own good, not even realising the males' voice they heard was Ash's, just a bit more deeper than what it was now.

With Lance and the Kanto/Johto Elite Four and Goodshow

"Masters Eight?" Lance asked, glancing towards Goodshow, who was most likely to know of such a thing, being the president of the PLA and such.

"Some sort of tournament in the future, I think." Bruno spoke out, humming slightly at the prospect, before turning his attention towards Goodshow. "Mr. Goodshow, do you know something about it?" He asked. However, he didn't get a reply as Charles Goodshow was staring intently at the screen. "Mr. Goodshow?"

"H-huh?" Goodshow muttered, having been ripped out of his thoughts by Bruno's voice. Looking around, he saw that he had multiple pairs of eyes on him. "Listen guys, we have to watch this." He said, with a serious tone, while on the inside he was confused as hell, and filled to the brim with questions. 'The Masters Eight… is it related to the project in which I'm trying to plan for the future? If so… that means it should be a success if this indeed showing the future!'

Once again, the screen showed Wyndon Stadium once again. A pokeball symbol with different designs were on each side of a crown, which had a blank name plaque to crown the most strongest trainer. Then, an announcer's voice was heard, who must've been in his mid-to-late thirties, with his voice seemingly magnifying the electric atmosphere of the stadium itself.

"Yes, Wyndon Stadium is standing room only! Filled to the brim with resounding voices of an eager crowd expected heated battles!"

Almost to prove the point of the announcer, the entire audience applauded and cheered the loudest they possibly could. If there was a roof on the stadium, it was more than likely going to be blown off with how loud the cacaphony of voices were, almost like the sound of a small gathering of Exploud all using Boomburst all at once!

Seeing, and hearing the electric audience, and the bubbling excitement of the crowd really made all the trainers, ranging from beginner to veteran really intrigued about this event. If the excitement of the audience was this palpable, then it must be an extraordinary thing to witness, and many of them were even jealous that they weren't there in person to experience it—even if it hadn't even happened yet.

In the Galar region, Leon who had relaxed a significant amount as he realised that no harm was going to happen to his beloved region, couldn't help but tremble in excitement, the sheer energy of the crowd seemingly inhibiting his being. And knowing that this was most likely reserved for only the strongest of trainers from around the world, really set his blood pumping. He just hoped that whomever else was in this tournament was able to prove to be a great challenger to him.

A challenger who could give him the thrill of battle, and make him experience the fear of losing in battle. It had been so long since people had been able to take out more than two of his Pokemon in battle.

For those around the Galar region, the people were also looking on at the screen with great interest at how excited their future people, and visitors looked. Obviously this was a big event, so grabbing this much attention could only ever be a good thing.

Then, another thought was running through their minds that made them even more excited! It came to a realisation that if this was the biggest tournament, then that meant that they could see their idol champion in action once again. No matter how one-sided his battles were, the people of Galar absolutely loved and adored Leon, and many of them hoped that his younger brother Hop would be able to live up to the legacy that Leon was undoubtedly leaving behind for him to inherit.

However, sadly, with their location on full display, and the implications about this 'Masters Eight' tournament, also brought on the not so good attention. Because, now, they had acquired the attention of Team Rocket, the admins and Giovanni basically salivating at the prospect of stealing such powerful Pokemon belonging to these trainers.

Once again, the announcer's voice was heard once again; his booming voice enrapturing the watchers once again with his energy.

"The Pokemon World Coronation Series, Masters Eight Tournament! Featuring the top-ranked Masters Eight; it will determine the top Pokemon Trainer, making it the greatest tournament on the planet!" His voice boomed, only to cause even more cheers of great excitement, and if possible, one could even hear the grin he was displaying through his words alone. "Now, the question on everyone's mind… who will be deemed the World Coronation Series winner, and the Pokemon World Champion!? Let's start off by introducing the Masters Eight, who have secured their positions amongst the thousands of trainers around the world!"

After hearing just how prestigious the Masters Eight—or the Worlds Coronation Series—truly was, it gave way to a whole load of shock and awe for the world watching the screens. People simply couldn't fathom just how big, and important this tournament was.

For more than a few overly arrogant trainers though, they had an excessive amount of greed shining within their eyes, and they started drooling at the prospect of earning such a title.

However, upon having the title of Pokemon World Champion; to become undoubtedly the strongest Pokemon trainer from around the world, all across the regions… it certainly set a buzz within the world.

As the screen paused at the end of the announcement, people were starting to become very antsy, and impatient as they all wanted to know just who the strongest eight trainers in the world to qualify for such a prestigious tournament were; and besides, the inherent intrigue about this very tournament giving birth to the most strongest trainer in the world left everyone excited to see it play out, with many already thinking about just who would become their new idol; or for many boys and girls to gain new celebrity crushes, or even hero worship on.

With Ash and Friends

"You mean they are going to show us the eight strongest trainers from all over the world… in one place? AWESOME!" Ash cheered out, his fist shooting up in the air as he shot to his feet. With stars in his eyes, he couldn't help but let loose an excited grin. "I hope we get to fight on of them in the future buddy, and hopefully one day we will become strong like them!"

"Pika! Pi!" Nodding his head cutely, the electric mouse copied Ash's raised clenched fist. He too wanted to fight the strongest trainers, and show them, and the world their strength!

"Now, Ash don't forget we are going to see the top eight trainers in the world. They competed among thousands and thousands of trainers, so I think they will be very strong." Misty, always being the party pooper decided to bump in, although her it caused a painful sensation to ripple in her chest as she noticed his towndrodden look. But it was necessary; she and Brock needed to nip Ash's arrogance—even if it wasn't to Gary levels—in the bud. "If you want to become like them, then you need to get serious, and train the hardest you possibly can… then, maybe, in the future you will be able to reach that level too."

"Misty is right, Ash." Brock said, giving a brief nod towards Misty's direction, before he gave his advice on the scenario. "This is five years in the future, with around possibly eight to over a decade in experience. If what I'm guessing is true, then they might be regional champions too." He gave a sigh. "Though I would like if I would say that I'm not excited and curious to know who the strongest eight are…"

"Me too…" Misty said with a sigh. "I wonder if any of them will be Water-type specialists…"

"Pokemon World Champion… the one who stands above the rest… that does sound… very appealing, I must admit." Brock said, unable to help himself from daydreaming himself in that position, even if he knew he had no chance to become such a thing.

Not when his interests to become a Pokemon Doctor become stronger and stronger by the day. But maybe one day he'll be lucky enough to work on that future trainer's Pokemon, even if for a moment.

"This whole tournament will give birth to the most powerful trainer in the world… simply amazing." Professor Oak spoke out, before his eyes started to glisten with unshed tears and he let out a sniffle. "Man, why is it always the younger generation~"

"Uhm, Professor…" Tracey muttered with a small sweatdrop appearing on his brow.

"Gramps…" Gary muttered, palming his face at his grandfather's antics. As much as he repressed that side of his, sometimes the aged man's childish side came out at the weirdest of times.

"It doesn't matter if I'm not strong now!" Ash suddenly declared, having finally recovered from Misty's jabs—even if they were true—a look of determination washing over his features. "I will become stronger with my Pokemon! Then one day, we will become World Champion, right buddy?"

"Pikachu!" The small electric rodent cheered out, jumping on his trainer's shoulders, his heart thumping within his chest, fully ready to become the strongest Pikachu there was to battle the best trainers, and the strongest Pokemon of the world.

Brock and Misty couldn't help but watch with amused expressions. They suspected it would take Ash years to reach Champion level at his current progress. However, there had been a small increase in his capacity as a trainer during his Orange Island adventures.

No doubt this would spark an indomitable fire within his belly that would refuse to be extinguished.

And they will most certainly be with him every single step of the way when he finally achieves that dream of his.

'I know you will, Ash…' Misty thought to herself, a faint tint of pink on her cheeks as she quickly gazed away from his determined expression.

Curse her mind for thinking he was… attractive when he was serious like that.

Curse her fluctuating hormones and puberty!

Although, neither of them, nor the rest of the room know of the surprise that would be dropping on them within the next few minutes.

Behind them, Gary Oak clenched his fists silently, a wave of determination surging forth. 'Whoever they might be… I will be sure to be able to fight on of them, and even if this is in the future, then I will try my damndest of be one of those… I want to test myself with those eight strongest!'

With renewed vigor surging forth in his body and mind, Gary Oak decided then and there, that he will continue to pursue his dream of becoming the strongest. The battles with Ash proving that having a rival will only increase the intensity and burning desire to become even stronger.

With Lance

Silence. That was the only thing that was greeting the ears of those within the PLA meeting room after that stunning announcement of the announcer for the Masters Eight tournament.

To say each of them was stunned would be like saying Meowths were grinning like cheshire cats.

However, suddenly, the silence that enveloped the room was broken by a loud cheer. But that cheer wasn't from Lance, or any of the Elite Four members. It was coming from someone they expected least; Charles Goodshow.

"Yes! I can't believe it… the project World Coronation is a HUGE success!" Goodshow continued to cheer, even going as far to do a little jig that bemused everyone.

Seeing such a old timer acting like a mere child sometimes was just something that tickled their hearts in just the right way.

"What do you mean, Charles?" Agatha spoke out.

As soon as that question was uttered, Goodshow immediately stopped his little happy jig, and looked towards Agatha and the gathered Elites of Kanto. "The Master Class tournament… I've been planning it with the other PLs for a few months now… where eight of the strongest trainers all unite in one place to battle it out…" He explained. "We planned this to be the biggest tournament in the history of Pokemon tournaments… I just can't wait to see the outcome of this!"

"So that really does mean we are seeing the future unfold before our very eyes…" Karen spoke out for the first time, before a smile upon the lips of the normally cold and stoic Elite Four member.

"Yes, and the winner will be crowned the World Champion, the strongest trainer in the world…" Goodshow uttered.

Turning his attention back towards the screen before them, Lance clenched his fists tightly. "The Masters Eight… the most powerful in the world…" Feeling the eyes of everybody in the room on him, he couldn't help but exclaim his next statement. "I want to test myself with the eight strangest trainers of the world. Let me show them the might of the Kanto and Johto Champion!"

"Knowing you and your determination, Lance, I wouldn't put it past your future self to be apart of history in the making." Lorelei spoke out fondly to her Champion.

Koga, the ever disciplined Poison master of Kanto, and former Gym Leader nodded his head. "What would be amazing is if these eight trainers pitted against each other were from different regions; it would bring a lot of regional pride and competition against each other.

Ever Grande Stadium, Hoenn

Steven, Wallace, Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia and Drake sat there, stunned at the massive tournament that would be playing before their eyes. Even they could't help but realise the sheer amount of implications this very tournament held, not only for the competitors, but for all the regional trainers themselves.

"The Masters Eight, huh?" Wallace spoke out. "Eight strongest trainers in the world, duking it out in a grand fashion, in a grand stadium, in front of adoring and excited fans…"

"This is seriously a huge deal!" Phoebe exclaimed, jumping up from her seat and giving a cute twirl. "I mean, the eight strongest gathered from all over the regions… not only will they showcase their strength, but represent their regions with pride…"

Drake grunted, crossing his arms with a smirk on his face. "Yes, I can't wait to know who they are."

"Indeed… I sure hope that I'm competing in this tournament. The eight strongest trainers in the world, no doubt showing their bonds that they have with their Pokemon to the world…" Steven spoke out, his eyes glinting. "Just thinking about this gets my blood boiling; my desire to face such bonds urging me to fight them, I simply cannot wait!"

Petalburg City, Hoenn

"Wow…" May murmured in amazement at hearing such a tournament being a real thing. Even if she didn't like Pokemon because of a childhood incident involving a Mightyena—something that always made her teased by bullies, and her once upon a time friends—she couldn't help but just… completely enraptured by the idea of such a tournament.

Unseen to her, both her mother and her father saw this starstruck look that May was giving; and they were hoping that this was the beginning of a new leaf for May.

They couldn't bare to see her being so lonely without any friends. Even with the therapy that she went through as a child, it still seemed that no matter what, there was just that lingering piece of self-doubt and hatred of Pokemon that remained within her subconscious.

"Just wow… I hope to see many great battles!" Max said in childish excitement, his eyes larger than the glasses he had resting on his nose. "I hope that Steven Stone is in this tournament, and will kick some butt!"

Lily of the Valley, Sinnoh

"The eight strongest trainers in the world… competing in such a competitive, and highly skill environment… how interesting." Cynthia spoke out, taking the words right out of her Elite Four members mouths. She then let out a small giggle. "I hope I'm in this, I want to prove to myself, and for the people of Sinnoh that I am the strongest trainer. I want my reputation to be backed up by my skills!"

Veilstone City, Sinnoh

With the two brothers in Veilstone City, Reggie watched as his younger brother sat silently on the couch, looking at the screen with a serious look on his face. He then watched as Paul clenched his fist, before muttering in such a soft voice that even he nearly missed it. "The Masters Eight… I want to fight those eight strongest master trainers…"

Reggie couldn't help but chuckle at his younger brother. As much as his personality did rub the way wrong way for a lot of people, Reggie still loved him for who he was. "I know you would, Paul." He said. "But remember, they are the eight strongest trainers in the world; that means their power is at an unpredictable level, you will have to train a lot in order to achieve such results like they have."

Paul simply nodded his head. His mind set on his newest goal that would swiftly become more important than trying to beat Cynthia to become the newest Sinnoh Champion.

If this was happening in five years, then he really needed to work, and train hard. Maybe he should scout out the nearby areas for strong Pokemon to befriend and catch.

Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh

"Oh my gosh, this is so exciting!" Dawn squealed out loudly, causing Johanna to wince slightly from the high pitch of her daughter's voice. "I wonder if there will be any majestic Pokemon on display!"

Johanna sighed and gave a small titter of amusement towards her daughter. "I'm sure there will be, Dawn." She said.

"When these battles happen; I wonder if I can remember them to try and incorporate into my Pokemon performances!"

"Even if you aren't able to, this will truly be a one in a lifetime chance to learn, and watch the very best at what they do," Johanna explained towards her daughter, who nodded her head and turned her attention back towards the screen, eager to see more from the future.

Vertress City, Unova

"Heh, to think that Mr. Goodshow actually managed to get the idea to fruition." Alder murmured to himself; shaking his head. Sure, he was intrigued by the prospect of having the chance to compete in such a tournament.

However, he could feel his age catching up to him, and he was sure it wouldn't be long until the next generation would take over the mantle he has held for nearly a decade.

At least then he will be free from responsibility as the Unovan Champion, and be able to constantly do his passion of exploring with even the risk of some urban exploration.

After all, what is life without a little bit of risk and ambiguity?

Village of the Dragons, Unova

"Wow!" Iris exclaimed in awe, her eyes shining. "I wonder if we will get to see any Dragon-type Pokemon in action!"

"The eight strongest, huh?" Drayden murmured, before he felt his lips twitching upward as his gaze travelled towards the excitable little girl before him. 'I wonder…'

Lumiose City, Kalos

The Kalos Elite Four members were chatting up a storm about such a tournament being held, probably being even more grand than what their annual conferences were, and even their best parades that usually go by yearly would easily be put to shame attendance wise with the numbers that this tournament was pulling off.

Of course, there was also the fact that every once in a while, either Malva or Siebold had to knock some sense into Wikstrom—who was breaking off into a river of manly tears, and shouting about the honorbound and chivalras nature of this tournament for the Masters Eight.

Diantha meanwhile, was just staring at the screen, an intense look found on her face.

Meanwhile, Drasna was just staring at the screen, a small smile on her face as she rested a hand upon her cheek. For some reason, she just had a feeling that everybody's world was going to shift drastically over the course of this showing.

Oh how right she would be~

Gloire City, Kalos

"Well, now I very much am pleased about the interruption to our schedule." Palermo spoke out. "I'm very eager to see what is awaiting for us in the future."

Aria nodded her head. Although she wasn't too knowledgable on Pokemon battles, and only knew the basics, she was certainly intrigued by the prospect of this tournament. Maybe there would be a thing or two to learn from this for her use in the future for Pokemon Perfomances.

Lumiose City, Kalos

"Oooh!" Bonnie squirmed in her seat, her entire being nearly vibrating off of the plush seat. "I wonder if there will be any pretty girls to look after big brother!" She shouted.

"Bonnie!" Clemont exclaimed, red-faced in embarrassment from his sister.

"Ack!" Meanwhile poor Meyer was clutching at his heart; a depressed cloud forming over his head at the thought of Bonnie saying such things as such a young age, and more than likely not realising the implications of her words.

Vaniville Town, Kalos

"Wow… what an event…" Grace murmured to herself. It was set in perhaps the finest stadium that she had ever seen, and no wonder why.

The tournament itself was life changing and revolutionary too!

Melemele Island, Alola

"The eight strongest trainers… my word, what a show this will be!" Professor Kukui exclaimed, his eyes widened ever so slightly.

"Yeah, and one of them will be crowned World Champion… certainly a wonderful spectacle that will Solrock'nroll us!" Samson exclaimed, his face somehow contorting to horribly mimic the meteorite Pokemon, causing the children of the class to sweatdrop at the antics of the… eccentric Oak. Then, his face turned curious. "Do you think Alola will compete in this?"

As much as the students wished for that to be the case, they knew that when it came to regional standings—if Alola even did compete in events—they always ranked either last, or second last. Which was a shame, but becoming a trainer, or at least a serious trainer wasn't exactly the biggest focus of the tropical islands.

Professor Kukui shook his head. "I doubt it. We don't have a league, nor a champion yet." He answered honestly, even if it did hurt to admit out loud. "I don't think we have a trainer that could match the power of the eight strongest in the world…"

"But, Professor!" Kiawe spoke out. "Just think about all those strong Pokemon that we get to see!"

"Yeah, but whats the point if Alola isn't in it… there is no 'team' to cheer for…" Sophocles muttered, ever the debby downer in these situations.

"Maybe the Masked Royal will be in it?" Mallow threw her opinion into the mix, causing both Kiawe and Sophocles to pause at that tidbit. "I mean, we all know how strong he is."

"I agree with Mallow!" Kiawe said, his fiery determination lighting up once more. "The Masked Royal would surely be in the top eight, or at least close to there to cause an upset!"

As Kiawe, Sophocles, and Mallow cheered about that prospect, Lillie, who was sat next to Mallow, wasn't so sure. "I don't think so… he is strong, but I don't think he is powerful enough to face those trainers… they might even be regional champions…"

Lana gave a depressed sigh as she rested her cheek on her wooden desk, her Poplio trying hard to cheer up it's trainer. "I wish someone would be there to represent us…"

That line of thought was shared by most, if not all of the Alolan populace. They were intrigued by the tournament, however, the chances of someone competing for their region was slim to none. After all, they were still a 'new' official region, but they were still mostly known for being a nice vacation spot, and not well known for battling.

Somewhere in the region, Gladian was looking at the screen seriously, his Type: Null standing guard right beside him.

The rest of the Island Kahunas were also looking at the screen, waiting for the eight trainers to be announced to the world for the first time.

Hammerlocke City, Galar

After hearing the announcement, Leon was surprised. However, that surprise soon turned into eagerness. A wild grin stretched across his face as he eagerly awaited for the tournament to start, whilst the lingering bits danger and cautiousness turned to smoke quicker than his Charizard frying a Sitrus Berry. 'If I'm in this… all I wish is for a battle to get my blood pumping once again! Make me feel in danger of losing my 'Undefeated Champion' title!'

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of being left on such a cliffhanger, the screen stirred to life once more, and the announcers voice once again rang out loud and clear.

"Now introducing the Master Eight trainers! Starting from Rank Eight: He is known as the very first, and current Champion of the Alolan Region, and holds the title of the Battle Frontier Conqueror!"

As the announcer was introducing the very first trainer, a large pillar of blue light appeared on one of the eight platforms that would lead directly to the stage, and slowly but surely, a figure slowly started to make itself known, although still being unable to be seen through all the light.

Across the world, many leaned forward in anticipation at finally meeting the first participant to the tournament. For the more veterant trainers, and maybe for those unaware of Alola's existence, they were very surprised to hear that they had an established league, and apparently had a trainer so powerful that he was participating in the Masters Eight.

Sure, he might've been ranked eight—or last—but it didn't matter how one got there, he still had their invite to this tournament.

Somewhere in Hoenn

"Hmmm… Battle Frontier Conqueror, eh?" A rather large, rotund man wearing a blue hawaiian shirt spoke out, his eyes hidden behind sunglasses, but one could see his eyebrow raise in surprise. "Maybe I need to pay more attention to this… and get the Frontier Brains watching too…"

With that, he pulled out his Rotom phone and quickly speed dialled all of the Frontier Brains that fell under his jurisdiction.

Pallet Town, Kanto

"Wow, what remarkable achievement!" Professor Oak said, surprise clear in his tone. "To think the Alola region will finally have a league of its own, and have their very first Champion. I bet Samson is shocked by this…"

Silver Town, Kanto

"So, it looks like we have another Champion to eventually welcome into our ranks…" Lance said, nodding his head.

"I'm surprised as well. I didn't think that Alola would change too much from their current traditions; but it looks like they are opening up to other cultures and traditions too…"

"To think, he is their very first Champion, and on top of that having completed the Battle Frontier, which not many people have done before, and to be strong enough to be ranked inside the Master Eight, he must be quite strong."

The other Elite Four members, Lance and Goodshow nodded their heads; they were certainly eager to learn more about this trainer.

Alola

All over the Alolan region, the people were beyond shocked at hearing the announcer. Not only were they going to have a fully established league in the future—which did have some pushback from the old traditionalists—but they will also have their very first Champion in the future!

That champion in the future also being one of the Master Eight trainers representing their region!

They hoped that whoever this Champion was, that they could showcase the power of the Alolan region, to put them on the map for not just being a vacation spot.

However, for some Island Kahunas, they were hoping that them having a League System, and a regional Champion was the right thing. Traditions were still very important to the people, and culture of Alola.

But maybe, just maybe, the League System had a healthy flair of Alolan culture interwoven within it.

Melemele Island, Alola

Hearing the announcement, Professor Kukui looked to be thoroughly flabbergasted. Unable to comprehend the words that the announcer had so plainly said, he sat down on his chair, holding his face in shock. "It actually happened… we have our very own league established… but we also have a Champion… said Champion is also in the Masters Eight…"

To think… this will all happen within five years time… how incredible!

"Well, miracles do happen!" Samson Oak proudly yelled out. "Alola has representation in this prestigious tournament! Hopefully with him, Alola will reach even greater heights!"

All Kukui could do was nod his head. "Now I'm very intrigued about this person… let's just see what our future Champion can do, eh?"

"W-what!" Sophocles and Lillie exclaimed in near perfect synch. "So we will really have our own regional Champion in the future…"

"Amazing!" Lillie whispered. "I just hope whoever he is, he is a nice person…"

"I hope whoever he is, he makes the region proud of him! Show them the power of the Alolan pride!"

"To secure a position in the Masters Eight! He must be so powerful! Oooh! Hopefully he is cute, too!" Mallow blurted out in her excitement.

Just as the impatience was reaching fever pitch across the world, the screen continued displaying the future once again.

"Hailing from Pallet Town in the Kanto region, the Alolan Champion, at the age of sixteen! Participant ASH KETCHUM!"

As the announcer finished calling out from his script, the figure of Ash Ketchum finally emerged from the pillar of sparkling blue light; his trusty Pikachu on his shoulder. Both of them were waving towards the crowd, and the cheers that the Alolan Champion got were loud enough to nearly burst eardrums.

Grinning, Ash glanced at his trusty Pikachu on his shoulder and gave an excited grin. "Let's do it!"

"Pika!"

Upon finally learning of the very first—and last ranked—participant of the Masters Eight, to say that people would be shocked and surprised would be a massive understatement.

The identity of the very first Alolan Champion, surprised many people, especially considering that he looked to be quite young to be in such an important position. However, many did note that whilst he did look young, he still did have this oddly charming, boyishly good looks. And with his demeanor on screen, they could tell that he was incredibly easy going, and looked very approachable and didn't have this haughty attitude about him either.

However, many were also staring in disbelief, especially for the fact that whilst he may hail from Pallet Town, he was the Alolan Champion. However, whilst he may instantly be a cult figure and hero in the Alola region—even if some might've been irked about not having a 'home-grown' Champion representing them—the Kantonians were smiling, happy to have a technical representation of this young man, even if he did belong to Alola by title.

Secret Garden, Alto Mare

"Coo! Brriiii~ Coooo~" An excited blur of pink and white shot around the secret garden whipping up fallen leaves and blades of grass everywhere, her cheers were so happy and pure that it made the lone female accompanying the excitable Pokemon smile.

"Latias, I know you're excited, but calm down please? You're going to ruin my drawing," The girl, known as Bianca lightly scolded the energetic mythical Pokemon, and lone guardian of the Soul Dew.

"Cooo…"

Calming down just enough, the beautiful, and very cute Psychic/Dragon-type Pokemon slowly hovered next to her best friend Bianca, eyeing the very rough outline of the older Ash Ketchum—the boy who had not only snagged her heart, but also her best friends—and couldnt help but have a light tint of pink appear on her cheeks as her arms folded back into her body.

Shaking her head from those, her golden eyes fell back onto the screen, taking in every single inch of Ash on the screen.

Oh how she missed him! And how she wished she didn't need to stay back in Alto Mare to guard the Soul Dew…

If only there was others of her species around… then she and Bianca could see the world outside of the water city…

Unseen to her, a soft glow suddenly enveloped her, before a slight golden crest lit up just above her back, signifying her wish had been heard by the creator of all, and her wish would soon come true.

"I wonder when you'll come back, Ash…" Bianca murmured softly to herself, a slight dusting of pink on her cheeks as she remembered the cute trainer from so long ago.

She was still so jealous when she realized that not only did Latias use her form in her disguise, but also managed to kiss him on the cheek, and still her personal drawing from her bedroom!

She was going to use that for… for…

Her cheeks suddenly gained a volcanic level of red, and Bianca suddenly felt a swirl of lightheadedness, and was quickly caught by the Latias floating next to her.

Pallet Town, Kanto

"WHAAAAT!" Brock and Misty exclaimed at the same time, both of them looking at the screen in total disbelief upon seeing—and hearing—Ash would be the regional champion of the Alola region. They were simply wide-eyed, gaping like a fish, almost looking like they had seen Arceus descending into the mortal realm for the briefest of moments.

Ash meanwhile was too stunned to react for a moment. His mind trying to process what he had just heard and seen. Then, it wore off, then his heart started to hammer in his chest with resounding force to put even the strongest of Hammer Arm's to shame.

Taking a shaky, breath, he suddenly blurted out the statement that finally came to mind. "I'M A REGIONAL CHAMPION!?"

"Pi! Pika! Pika!" Pikachu cried out, cheering with his trainer.

"I can't believe I'm also in the Masters Eight!" Ash said excitedly, stars shining in his eyes. Pikachu, who somehow still stayed on his perch cheered as well, looking starry-eyed at seeing himself on the screen.

Even after five years, he was still a Pikachu; surely the strongest of his species by now!

"I-I can't believe it…" Brock said. "Ash is a regional champion…" He was still feeling completely befuddled at this.

Misty nodded her head. "A member of the Masters Eight too, he has surpassed most elites and veteran trainers…" She was still in shock and awe as she watched the screen, showing Ash happily waving towards the crowd, and laughing at the same time as he relished the praise of the crowd.

She couldn't help but think he just looked downright handsome in the future, whilst still having that boyish cuteness of his, it made her chinks dust a bright pink.

"To think, we were just ridiculing him for wanting to challenge the members of the Master Eight…" Brock said, referring to their previous bouts towards the young raven-haired trainer. "Turns out he is one…"

"You know what that means, right?" Misty suddenly asked, peering towards Brock, who simply nodded his head. "We have to make sure he is fit to be a Champion, and give him a hard time training, but we also must support him until the very end because he is our friend, who will one day fight for the title of 'World Champion'."

"Indeed."

The other members of the watching party within the lab were still frozen upon such a revelation. Professor Oak had just dropped his glass of water that he was holding upon seeing Ash being introduced as the Alola Champion.

Tracey toppled over from his spot on the couch, his sketch long since forgotten on the table in front of them. Gary, meanwhile was completely frozen where he stood, in complete shock at seeing the boy who he always called an idiot competing in the Masters Eight tournament, and not only that, but as a regional champion too.

Just how far did Ashy-boy leave him behind?

However, for Delia, she was smiling the biggest smile that one had ever seen, even larger than the one she had the day her darling little boy was born. Unable to help herself, she started cheering and clapping excitedly. "I knew you always had it in you, son!" She cheered out. "I'm glad you managed to chase your dream this far,"

Then, quite suddenly, Professor Oak started to give a hearty laugh. "Well, what do you know… I knew you had potential in you Ash. To see a trainer from Pallet Town competing in such a tournament, what a huge honor! Congratulations, my boy!" Professor Oak exclaimed, before looking towards the still cheering raven-haired youth, pride undeniable in his voice.

"Wow, I knew he would be a great trainer… but to think it would be of this magnitude… incredible!" Tracey spoke out, finally plopping himself on the lounge once again, and reaching out to grab the sketch that had been forgotten on the table, a new found passion burning within him.

He just had to continue sketching it!

"Just seeing him there and stage makes me proud, not only is he representing Kanto, but Alola as well!"

"Ash… for your sake you better not be slacking off!" Gary said, finally coming over his shock as he looked towards the raven-haired youth. Clenching his fist, he continued. "You have to win for the sake of the Kanto region!" He added on, before a thought seeped into his mind. 'If he is there… then what happened to me? Have I truly been that surpassed by the one who had only just gotten my acknowledgment?'

With Lance

"The Alola Champion is from the Kanto region?" Lance uttered out in surprise, blinking owlishly at the sight of the Alolan-Kantonese Champion. "That is quite shocking to hear."

For Lorelei, she was looking a bit too strongly at Ash Ketchum on screen, her eyes narrowed. Something about him was familiar to her. Then, it suddenly came to her. "Wait, I know him!"

Upon hearing Lorelei's statement, the other Elite Four members, and even Lance himself looked at the redhead with curiosity, wondering just how she knew of this kid.

"Yeah, me too," Goodshow admitted, his eyebrows raised as he gazed at the trainer, simply surprised to see him there. "He participated in the Indigo League last year, and made Top 16, then competed at the Silver Conference and got Top 8." He revealed to the Elite Four members and Lance. "Last I heard, he took a small detour and participated in the Orange Island Championships, and even managed to dethrone Drake, becoming the unofficial Champion of the archipelago islands."

"Wow, the kid certainly does have potential," Bruno admitted. "If I ever did meet the kid, I wouldn't mind taking him as an apprentice, or perhaps leaving him with some words of encouragement."

"He certainly does have potential." Lorelei admitted. "We battled in the Orange Islands just recently, and while I might have won, the kid certainly did display an aptitude towards battling… to see him in the Masters Eight, and as the Alola Champion in the future is quite surprising, yet also great to see that he did wind up fulfilling his potential."

"But the question remains, why Alola?" Agatha spoke out, taking note of his achievements for herself. Perhaps it would be time to catch up with Samuel Oak, her old friend. "Why not just stay in Kanto, or our neighbours of Johto?"

"Either way, we have to find him." Lance spoke out, his voice easily carrying through to the rest of the Elite Four. "To become a Champion at the age of sixteen, he is no doubt the youngest Champion to be known, although that might change. Then, to become so strong, and because he is from one of my regions…" Lance trailed off. "Yes, I have to find that boy,"

Ever Grande Stadium, Hoenn

"He is just a teen!" Sidney exclaimed, finally recovering from the shock at seeing such a young trainer in the tournament. "To reach such a position at such an age, being amongst the strongest in the world… remarkable,"

Phoebe nodded her head at Sidney's statement. "Indeed, the potential that he has is astounding."

"It looks like it, however, we can never judge someone by appearance or age." Steven spoke out sternly towards his Elite Four's. "Just by looking at him, I'm quite sure he has been through more than anyone can even think about, and I'm sure he must have quite a few unorthodox trips up his sleeve,"

"You really think so?" Glacia softly spoke out.

"Yes, even I can see it," Drake said. "The look in his eyes… the marksmanship of a true veteran trainer,"

Petalburg City, Hoenn

"Wow…" Max was in awe at seeing such a young trainer competing at such a large scale tournament, only reserved for the elite of the elite. It was safe to say that Max had just found his new idol; even though his main cheering point would be anyone from the Hoenn region.

"Look at that, honey," Caroline spoke out, reaching out and gently rubbing the back of her hand over her daughter's, getting her to snap out of her reverie. "If he is only sixteen there, that must mean he is around your age now."

All May could do was dumbly nod her head. For some reason, her attention just kept getting drawn back to this Ash Ketchum fellow, even though she had no clue who he was.

Norman just sat there, silently as he gazed at the screen. He couldn't help but admit that he was curious about this trainer, to be so young, and to become a regional Champion at such an age. It meant that there must've been something special about him.

Lily of the Valley, Sinnoh

To say that Cynthia was shocked was an understatement. Once upon a time, Cynthia had once been the youngest Champion to be ever be crowned, coming in at just eighteen years of age, and two-hundred fifty-six days old. But to see someone who was two years younger eclipse her record set a small smile upon her face.

However, her sentiment wasn't shared by her Elite Four members. In fact, some of the comments that she heard really rubbed her the wrong way.

"This is a joke right?" Aaron spoke out, sheer disbelief in his voice.

"It doesn't look like it," Flint spoke out next, a thoughtful frown on his face. "I doubt this kid is strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the best of them."

Bertha simply shook her head in the background, knowing Flint's and Aaron's ego, they just wouldn't accept it; even if facts were repeatedly slammed into their head with the power of her ace Pokemon, Hippowdon.

Just as she went to open her mouth, she was surprised to hear Cynthia's speak her opinion, with just a tad bit of venom within her tone.

"Aaron, Flint, stop," Cynthia uttered out, her voice causing both the Bug-type, and the Fire-type Elite Four member to stiffen. "Remember, we must never judge simply by age or appearance, we don't know this boy personally, but there is always a story to be told."

Lucian simply shook his head, feeling the same sentiments as Bertha and Cynthia. Although with his natural prowess in the arcane psychic energy, even he, through the screen could feel the abundance of energy this Ash Ketchum boy had.

It was almost like being next to constant source of heat, while only being a small ice-cube.

Unova

Across the Unova region, people were surprised to see such a young participant representing two regions in the tournament. It certainly made the younger generation have that fire that burned ever brighter within their guts.

To see someone from their generation, or slightly younger, being able to achieve such wonderful achievements, then why couldn't they as well?

Alder for his part, was seen smiling at the screen, feeling a bit of pride for the newest generation that would slowly but surely make things their own, to continue on building what they had already built before hand.

Vaniville Town, Kalos

For a certain blonde girl, she was completely shocked upon finally recognizing the face that was staring at her from the screen. "Wait, ASH!?" She screeched out, her face turning mighty red as she remembered the times that she was at Professor Oak's Summer Camp, and having a meeting with Ash that thoroughly changed her life, and the memories it brought to always linger within her mind.

"Ash?" Grace questioned, although she was a little bemused at seeing her daughter acting like this in front of her.

Serena nodded her head, a fond smile on her face combined with her flushed cheeks. "Yeah, he is the same boy that saved me in the woods when I went to Professor Oak's Summer Camp!"

"Really?" Grace said, a little surprised at how small the world seemed to be at times. Then, she looked at the screen with a calculating look; a look that all mother's have when they are regarding a possible love interest for their daughter. She couldn't help but nod her head, before a teasing smile fell upon her lips. "So, this is the same boy you love and couldn't stop talking about for a week straight…"

Hearing her mother's words, the blush on Serena's cheeks suddenly went volcanic, and one could swear that steam started to erupt from her ears. "MOM!" Serena screeched out in embarrassment.

Alola Region

To say the people of the Alola region were a mixture of complete enrapture, but also a hint of confusion, and perhaps filled with a hint of doubt would be easy to say. Knowing that not only was their Champion a teenaged boy, but the fact that he came from the Kanto region, instead of one of their own islands, it did cause a bit of intrigue, but also caused a select quarter of the population to be rather displeased by that notion.

However, they managed to quash that feeling down when the intrigue surrounding this boy continued to fester onto their minds, and earnest excitement started to fill their very being.

How was this kid, who wasn't even an adult yet in their laws—but somehow was in Kanto, even if they didn't agree to that particular bylaw—would handle the pressure of this competition, and facing competition that was just as strong, if not stronger than he was?

Pokemon School, Alola

"There he is… the Champion," Professor Kukui spoke out with a grin, already feeling Alolan pride flare up within him. It also didn't help that he also had a soft spot for Kantonese people, considering he went on his journey through that region.

"Looks like it." Samson Oak said, before a thoughtful grin came across his features, before he suddenly clicked his fingers. "Oh, that's the boy that my cousin has been talking about to me!"

Professor Kukui hummed in thought. More than once or twice Samson Oak had regaled some stories about this mysterious trainer that Professor Oak had so much pride in. To think that one day in the future, he would become the Champion of their region.

Such a small world.

"Still, even if he doesn't win this tournament, he has already done so much for us. Not only being a representative of our region, but also putting the region on the map battling wise by being one of the eight strongest in the world…" Kukui said, although he didn't have too much hope for the boy, he wouldn't let it get him down in the dumps, that just wasn't his style.

Glancing towards his class, he took note that each of his members seemed to be looking at Ash with awe. Even Kiawe, which really surprised Kukui, considering that kid was perhaps the biggest stickler for the Alolan traditions out of the rest of his class, considering his family, and his upbringing on a farm.

"So this is our Champion?" Kiawe muttered to himself, staring intently at the form of Ash Ketchum on the screen, then he nodded his head with a small smile. "He looks strong, even if he is our age."

"I agree, he looks strong," Sophocles agreed. "But can he win?"

"So cool!" Mallow squealed out. "Although I wish it was the Masked Royal, and not some unknown trainer to me! But I will still cheer my heart out for him!"

"Yes, I will cheer my best too!" Lillie spoke out shyly, tapping her index fingers together as a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. "He looks cute…"

"Oh~ Does Lillie already have a crush?" Lana spoke out teasingly, gently nudging the poor blonde in the ribs lightly.

"Lana~" Lillie whined out, hiding her face with her large sunhat, much to the amusement of Professor Kukui.

"Now, ranking in at seventh!"

Just like last time, a large pillar of glittering pink light suddenly emerged, just to the right of the young Alolan Champion.

"With the goal of becoming a Dragon Master, coming from the Village of Dragons in the Unova region! Welcome, the seventeen year old Unovan Champion: Iris!"

With the announcement finished, the pink pillar of light fizzled away beautiful, before Iris emerged from her stand, jumping in excitement, her beautiful dress sparkling underneath the sunlight as she waved to the crowd and basked in the praise being launched her way.

"Thank you, all!" Iris yelled out, twirling around on the spot. Spotting Ash out of the corner of her eyes, she spun around to face her friend, and gave him a determined smile, to which returned one of his own, and nodded their heads towards each other.

World

Once again, around the world, the Pokemon Masters tournament surprised everyone with the fact that yet another young trainer—this one only being slightly older than the Alolan Champion—was in the tournament. Not only that, but she was the Unovan Champion, meaning that Alder had finally been defeated in a title battle.

However, as the scene between Iris and Ash played, it made many people question the relationship between the Alolan Champion, and the Unovan Champion. How did they know each other?

Pallet Town, Kanto

Seeing the byplay between Ash and Iris, Misty felt a little pinprick of fear make itself known in her heart. She turned her attention towards her crush, and asked. "Do you know her, Ash?"

However, much to her relief, Ash shook his head. "No, I don't know who she is…"

"Maybe sometime in the future they will know each other, although I must say, she looks to be quiet excitable and another bundle of energy, much like how Ash was during his Kanto journey." Brock said, with a small chuckle as he remembered a few certain spontaneous eruptions from his young friend.

"Still, despite her childish attitude, she must be quite strong to overthrow Alder; I wonder how far she will go as a trainer, and for her dream."

With Lance

"Another teen…" Bruno said, surprised at the fact there was another teenager in the competition.

"So she wants to be a Dragon Master…" Lorelei spoke out, before throwing a knowing glance towards Lance. "Just like you, Lance, and Clair."

Pleased that there was another Dragon-type enthusiast amongst them in the future, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, lets see how strong she is, and if she has the potential to achieve her dream,"

Agatha meanwhile, had a slight frown on her face. "That childish attitude doesn't help with her position, but I can always be wrong…"

Unova

All across the Unova region, people were surprised to know that another Champion would be crowned in their region in the next few years. They might not know Alder a great deal, but they knew that he was a strong trainer, having successfully held onto his title for the past decade.

So for this young teenager to overthrow his position, she must be quite strong, and that alone made the people of Unova cheer even louder, knowing that they had such a strong trainer coming through the ranks.

However, not everyone was happy about the news; this particular person would soon to become a certain Alolan Champions rival for when he travelled through the Unova region.

With Alder

"So, she is the future Unova Champion, huh?" Shauntal spoke out, gazing towards the young teen. "She is quite young too."

Caitlin took a sparring glance towards Alder. "How do you feel about this, Alder?"

"I find myself quite intrigued, if I'm honest." Alder replied to his Elite Four member. "I knew that at one point I would be beaten sooner or later… but I think that the time has come for me to retire." He admitted, much to the shock of his Elite Four members who didn't know about his approaching retirement. "But, I think the region will be in good hands… I think when this is over, I will travel to meet this girl myself, and teach her, if possible."

"They did say she was from the Village of Dragons." Marshal pointed out.

"Then, I'll surely find the future Unovan Champion there, and teach her a little bit of discipline,"

Marshal, Caitlin, Grimsley, and Shauntal shuddered at that. Like Alder was one to speak about discipline, not when he had childish bursts himself, and could really grate on peoples nerves—like the Sinnoh Champions—without even trying.

Village of the Dragons, Unova

"Eek! Axew, look!" Iris shouted, pointing towards her on the screen. "We are going to be the Unova Champion in the future, and compete in the Masters Eight!"

"Ax! Axew!"

The village elder, and Drayden were both surprised to see the achievements of Iris in the future. Drayden couldn't help but shake his head fondly. "Looks like she really improved in the future,"

"It seems like it," the village elder spoke, a faint smile upon her aged face.

"Well, I think it's time we start to instruct her on how to act like a Champion then… one thing she needs is discipline and calmness." Drayden admitted, seeing the bundle of energy that was Iris on the screen in the future. 'That boy…' he thought to himself, before glancing towards Iris. "Iris!" He called out, causing the young girl to look at him in confusion. Gesturing towards Ash Ketchum, he asked. "Do you know anybody by the name of Ash Ketchum?"

However, Iris shook her head. "No, I don't know anybody by the name of Ash Ketchum," she answered earnestly.

"I see…"

"Now, the trainer who is ranked sixth for the Masters Eight!"

A pillar of purple light emerged, next to Iris as a figure slowly ascended onto the stage to join Iris and Ash.

"An adventurer, who is famous for his research and ability for his Mega Evolution Excavations and Research, the winner of the Kalos League Lumiose Conference at the age of eighteen: Participant Alain!"

The pillar of light stopped shining as Alain stepped up on the stadium stage. Then, he looked to his right and saw the megawatt smile Ash was giving him, and smirked in reciprocation.

Somewhere in Kalos

"What am I doing on screen?" Alain questioned himself with a frown, as leagues and tournaments were not his game. He already had way too much to work on; rather than waste on collecting league badges. "I should be trying to find a way to save Mairin's Chespie… why would I participate in such a tournament? And how do I know the Alolan Champion?" He questioned. "Are you the reason why I participate in this tournament?"

Alain's Charizard was also looking at the screen curiously as his trainer stood stoically on the stage, although inside of him, there was a raging beast that was excited to showcase its power in front of the world.

Hopefully this would be enough to ignite Alain's battling capabilities that Charizard knew he had him in.

Sycamore Laboratory, Kalos

"Congratulations on the achievement, Alain," Professor Sycamore said after taking a delightful intake of cup of coffee. "I'm glad you decided to explore new things."

With Diantha

Looking at Alain with intrigue, Diantha couldn't help but feel that this trainer certainly did have this power about him. If he wasn't even a Champion, but was still strong enough o compete in such a grand tournament, then he must be powerful.

In her mind, since the announcer did say that he was a Mega Evolution Researcher and Excavator… then perhaps she should try to find this man, if he was still in the same region as she was right now.

Lily of the Valley, Sinnoh

"It looks like the new generation does have quite a bit of talent at its disposal," Cynthia stated, smiling at seeing three new, young faces at such a prestigious tournament.

Bertha nodded her head. "Those three trainers, all young enough to be my great grandchild, all participating in one of the greatest tournaments in history…"

"Maybe we should give them the title of 'The Three Rookies', those three seem to have a lot potential," Cynthia said, smirking as she thought of the perfect nickname for those three particular trainers.

Although from all of them, it seemed as though Ash had the most potential, whilst Alain seemed to be the most composed and mature out of the three, whilst Iris seemed to have this magnetic, bubbly attitude that brought people in.

Overall, a very solid composition, if she was being honest.

"Now, for the trainer who is ranked fifth!"

A pillar of white light appeared on the starge, right to the right of Alain, and slowly but surely, the figure started to emerge.

"So is a world famous actress, and she is capable of putting up a good fight, the Kalos Champion: Participant Diantha Carnet!"

The white pillar disappeared, revealing the Champion of Kalos, and world famous actress appeared, who made a humble gesture towards the crowd with her arms.

For the regions—apart for Galar and Alola—were excited to the see the Kalos Regional Champion, Diantha being ranked as high as fifth for the tournament. Most of the world—apart from Galar and Alola—knew about the Kalos Champion's power.

Lance, Steven, and Cynthia were all smiling upon seeing that their fellow Champion still held that title, even five years in the future where it seemed as though the new generation were slowly taking over.

For Alder looked on in interest at the Kalos Champion, simply wondering how she had enough time to actually juggle being an actress and Champion.

For Leon, well, he was analying her a great deal, hoping that she would be able to give him the challenge that he so desperately desired.

Kalos

On seeing their favourite actress, and Champion on the screen, the entirety of the Kalos region erupted; the cheers being so loud a large gathered crowd actually managed to rattle some windows in their bearings, whilst a few unlucky places had to deal with a sudden shower of broken glass.

Not only was Diantha's beauty and talent something that was admired plenty in Kalos, but now hearing that their Champion was ranked fifth in the tournament caused their admiration to raise for the beautiful young woman.

Kalos Elite Four

Seeing their Champion up on stage, in her typical humble nature, Malva couldn't help but smile lightly towards her Champion. "Congratulations, Diantha,"

"Indeed, a massive achievement!" Siebold complemented

"Congratulations, my lady!" Wikstrom loudly declared, crying tears of joy on seeing Diantha on the screen representing Kalos too, making it two trainers in the tournament!

"You're still a fine young woman in the future, Diantha," Drasna spoke out merrily. "I wonder how much stronger you've become?"

Diantha blushed lightly at the praise given to her by her Elite Four members, she ducked her head down cutely, allowing the smile to grace her face. "Thank you," she spoke out. "I promise to do Kalos proud!"

"Now, here comes the trainer who is ranked fourth!"

A pillar of orange light appeared on the left side of Diantha, as the figure slowly started to emerge, one key detail could be seen; this person was wearing a long cape that fell down to his ankles.

"The famous Champion of both Kanto and Johto, the leader of the G-Men group, and a Champion whom doesn't allow evil…"

The pillar of light stopped glowing, and out from the lighting stepped out the only dual Regional Champion in the tournament.

"Participant Lance Wataru!"

All around Kanto and Johto, from the small town of Cinnabar island, to the archipelago islands of the Orange Isles, people erupted in cheer and hoots upon seeing the Champion of both their regions, and they were ecstatic to know that he was ranked fourth in the listings for the tournament.

For the Champions, Diantha, Steven and Cynthia smiled upon seeing another familiar Champion still holding strong in their ranks.

And for those that didn't know Lance's second job, their admiration for him grew even larger.

Pallet Town, Kanto

"Champion Lance!" Ash cheered out, pumping his fist in the air, having recognized this person almost instantly.

"So it looks like Lance is still our Champion… and powerful enough to be in this tournament," Misty said, excited upon seeing a face she recognized—she wasn't a massive fan of movies, so the shock of Diantha being an actress didn't hit her that hard.

"This has just become even more interesting," Brock said. "To think that our Champion is helping fight crime against the evil organisations like Team Rocket in our region…"

Unseen to Ash, Misty, and Brock, Gary, who was a little further behind them, was watching the screen with a rather fanboyish smile on his face. "Lance… finally, I'll be able to see my idol battle!"

"What an interesting tournament this is shaping up to be," Professor Oak muttered to himself, idly rubbing his chin with his index finger and thumb. "Such a historic occasion."

With Lance

Seeing Lance's entrance to the tournament, the members of the Kanto and Johto Elite Four cheered, and even patting Lance on the back good naturedly, showing their support for their Champion.

For Lance, he was smiling in excitement, he could feel his blood pumping throughout his body, and his fist was clenched in the battles that were to come.

Meanwhile, in Blackthorn City, Johto

"How rude!" Clair pouted childishly, huffing slightly as she crossed her arms over her budding chest. "I can't believe he is taking all the spotlight here, and didn't even tell me!"

"Now, the trainer who is ranked the third strongest in the world!"

Once again, a pillar of green light started to shine beautifully right next to Lance, and a figure's silhouette was seen slowly rising from below the ground.

"The Sucsessor of the Devon Coporation in the Hoenn region, the Hoenn Region Champion! Participant: Steven Stone!"

The pillar of light faded, fully revealing the Hoenn Champion to the world, as he bowed towards the audience and politely waved, showcasing his good manners to the world.

All around the world, Steven's fans—especially the young girls and young teens—simply erupted in a cacophony of cheers as they saw the Hoenn Champion looking so 'cool' and 'suave', for a few more of the egregious fangirls around the world; their hearts couldn't take it, and they simply fainted on the spot, causing a few to look at them oddly.

Ever Grande Stadium, Hoenn

Seeing his appearance in the future, Steven couldn't help but smile, proud of himself for still going strong, being the Hoenn Champion, and being ranked the third strongest in the world.

It meant that whatever he was doing, he was doing it well.

"Congratulations, Champion!" Phoebe squealed in delight, launching herself at the still form of Steven, and wrapping him up in a hug. "I'm so proud of you!"

Wallace laughed merrily at the sight of the young, quirky Elite Four member hugging his best friend. It seems as though his laughter snapped Phoebe out of her little funk, and she gave a small squeak as she quickly pulled herself away from the hug, not noticing the smile of amusement that Steven was giving. "I knew you had it in you!" Wallace commented. "Good luck in that mate, cause from the looks of it, you'll be needing it!"

"Most certainly," Steven agreed with a small nod of the head. "But still, this will give me the perfect opportunity to analyze my future competition. Plus, I just want to see how much I've improved!"

Petalburg City, Hoenn

"Yes! Champion Steven!" Max whooped in joy at seeing the regional Champion in the tournament. "Third strongest in the world!"

"What an achievement. Third strongest in the world, c'mon Steven, prove your mettle!"

Norman wasnt even aware that he made a perfect pun towards Steven. Caroline caught it and let out a small titter.

May on the other hand, was still enraptured by the screen in front of her, her eyes hadn't left the screen every since Ash Ketchum came into view.

"Now, for the trainer who is ranked the second strongest in the world!"

A pillow of bright yellow light emerged on the right side of Steven, and a rather tall figure started to emerge from the podium.

"She ahs the authority over the Pokemon Archaeolgy, and is also known as the Sinnoh Queen for defending her title of the Sinnoh Champion for over a decade!"

The pillar of light stopped, and the figure of the Sinnoh Champion emerged properly into view, smiling beautifully at the crowd gathered in the stadium.

"Participant: Cynthia Shirona!"

Sinnoh

The people of Sinnoh immediately erupted in cheer as they saw their Champion emerge from the light, along with the knowledge that she will be the second strongest trainer in the world.

Diantha, Lance, Steven, and even Alder were surprised seeing the Sinnoh Champion. However, that surprise eventually faded into intrigue, as they knew that whenever Cynthia competed, it was bound to get very, very interesting.

But now, there was one question on everyones lips; who was ranked as the number one trainer for this tournament?

Lily of the Valley, Sinnoh

"Well well… looks like you be having the time of your life, and the Masters Tournament, Cynthia." Bertha commented, giggling lightly as she watched her Champion's eyes sparkle. "I wish you good luck,"

"Yeah!" Flint exclaimed, a fiery aura surrounding him somehow. "Show them the power of the Sinnoh region!"

"I will try my best, this tournament is going to be very tough, but all I can do is do my best!"

"Good luck Champion, it will be a great experience, being surrounded by the strongest trainers in the world." Lucian commented, although he, and Cynthia frowned when they heard Aaron and Flint muttering under their breaths that the trainer's ranked eight through to sixth were probably not even strong.

Ah, those duos with their easily bruised egos…

"And now…"

As soon as the announcers voice came to life, the lights in the stadium all went out, as a reddish pillar erupted spectacularly in the middle of the stage, followed by more colored lights, giving it a much beautiful, and somehow personal touch for the introduction of this trainer.

"Give a warm welcome to the trainer who is currently ranked number one! He is the Galar Champion, and the Hero of the region, currently known as the Undefeated Monarch to those around the world…"

Soon, a figure starts to emerge; the lights went out and the spotlights concentrated on the center of the stadium, and through that, the silhouette of a man wearing a cape could be seen, displaying his all too famous pose that everyone from the Galar region knew.

"Participant: Leon!"

Galar

"LEON! LEON! LEON!"

Even where he was standing, someplace in Hammerlocke City, Leon could hear the fans of his chanting his name repeatedly, the chanting so loud that he could see the windows vibrating in their sils.

Closing his eyes, Leon basked in the sound of the chanting his fans brought to the table, feeling a trickle of thrumming power start to beat in his heart.

"The people of Galar really do love us, right?" Seeing Charizard nodding his head, a fiery determination started to shine in Leon's eyes. "Then bring it on! Let's see what all those powerful trainers can do, and could one of them finally give me a match I've been dreaming about for years!"

His partner Charizard gave a great roar, shooting a Flamethrower right up into the sky, he was ready to those trainers its powers, and he was ready to fight nothing but the strongest Pokemon!

With Sonia

Seeing Leon on screen, Sonia couldn't help but have an affectionate smile on her face. Then, her mind conjured another image of Leon, this time showing him from the time when they were children… before Leon got too chummy with Rose, who honestly gave her the most awful feeling in the world.

"Come on, Leon," She whispered, holding a hand to her heart. "Show them what a true Champion you really are!"

With Lance

"So, he is Leon…" Lance muttered, looking at the figure of Leon with a critical gaze. "The most powerful trainer in the world, huh?"

"Even looking at the screen, I can tell that this man screams nothing but power!" Bruno commented.

Charles Goodshow, having already met the Galarian Champion, had a smile on his face, already knowing that the other Champions would have a very hard time facing Leon; his adaptability in battle was second-to-none, and it was terrifying how strong his Pokemon truly were.

World

Around the world, everyone was stunned by the power, and aura this man seemed to possess, even through the screens around them, they could feel the burning passion that this man had for battling.

And knowing the he was the Galar Champion, the apparent Hero of the Region, and of course the Undefeated Monarch meant that his class, and level was simply on another level that had yet to be reached.

It sent many veteran, and retired trainers into their thoughts. Just how strong was this Leon guy? Would they be able to see the sheer, indomitable power this man possessed in battle? Or would his battles all be cakewalks?

"There we have it folks!" The announcers voice blared to life once more, "Those are the world's eight strongest trainers, or should I say, the Masters Eight!? This will show us the true power of the Pokemon World Champions, such as a miraculous and historic moment! Today, the Undefeated Monarch, Champion Leon, and seven other competitors will all have their first matches!"

With that, the roar of the crowd magnified tenfold, perhaps being loud enough to break a world record alone, before the announcer cleared his voice, and spoke up once again.

"Leon, a word, perhaps?"

Suddenly, the camera focused on Leon once more. With a bright smile, Leon regarded each and every person in the crowd with a passing glance, before looking towards the seven other competitors. "Everyone, take your best shot! Leave nothing behind! My Pokemon will defeat everyone standing in their way!"

Once again, the crowed cheered raucously! Chants of every competitors name could be heard from the thousands and thousands of fans gathered, however, Leon's chants were loudest of the bunch.

"And now, we're going to reveal the matches for the first round!"

The screen in the stadium suddenly became the centrepoint for thousands and thousands of pairs of eyes, images of the trainers starting roll by like they were spun by a wheel, before finally stopping on two trainers.

Which was revealed to the images of Leon, and Alain.

"For the first match, it's Leon vs Alain!"

Through the screaming and cheering crowd, Alain and Leon made eye contact with each other, having a friendly—if a little determined—stare down with each other, each of them clearly determined to win.

With Leon

"So, we are going to face one of those rookie trainers huh? This will be interesting." Leon said with a smirk. "Show me what you got kid…"

His Charizard roared, wanting to face that trainer's strongest Pokemon and trounce it into the ground!

Lumiose City, Kalos

"So, this Alain kid is going to face the undefeated Champion of Galar… it will be a tough match for him, that's for certain," Diantha spoke out.

"Yes, now we will see how much potential that kid has, and how powerful Leon truly is…" Drasna spoke out.

Wikstrom, Siebold, Malva, and Diantha nodded at her words.

With Alain

Alain was surprised by the match-up, but even then, he could feel a twinge of nervous excitement bubbling within his system. "So I'm facing the undefeated Champion in the first round, huh?" He murmured, before glancing towards his Charizard. "Well, let's prove our worth by being there, right?"

Charizard roared loudly, determination dancing within his eyes as his flames burnt even brighter, ready to defeat such a powerful trainer.

"And for the second match!" The screen did the same thing, rolling through the images—minus Alain's and Leon's—before finally settling on two. "It will be Lance vs Diantha!"

The crowd cheered loudly for the aspect of watching two Champions colliding in battle together. Diantha, with a smile on her face, turned to face Lance, upon making eye contract, Lance bowed slightly in respect towards her.

Lumiose City, Kalos

"The Champion of Kalos versing the Champion of Kanto and Johto; what a headline," Malva commented.

"Be careful, my lady," Wikstrom commented, turning to face Diantha. "From what I've heard of Lance, he is truly a tough opponent, and a serious Dragon trainer who has won many battles."

Diantha nodded her head. "I will keep it in mind," she said, before thinking. 'Let's see how much power the Champion of two regions has,'

With Lance

"So, it's Kanto-Johto versus Kalos," Agatha spoke out. "Be careful Lance, Diantha is a very tough opponent, and she also uses the new Fairy-type Pokemon, who have the advantage against Dragon-types."

Lance grunted at that information, before smirking. "It doesn't matter, let's see how good the Kalos Champion is!"

"The third match-up will be… Cynthia vs Iris!"

Iris let out an excited gasp at hearing her opponent, her eyes sparkling. "Me and Cynthia?" She spoke to herself, before turning to face Cynthia, who was sending her a soft smile.

"Go easy on me," Cynthia spoke up, although one could hear the clear challenge in her tone.

Lily of the Valley, Sinnoh

"So, it seems I am fighting one of the Rookie Three, interesting,"

"Yeah, and we can see just how much potential this Unova Champion has…" Flint spoke out.

"Certainly," Aaron agreed with Flint's statement.

"I hope that she will prove to be a great challenge, and someone to keep an eye out for in the future," Cynthia added on, smiling as she stared at the young Unovan Champion on the screen.

With Alder

"So, our future Champion will be battling the second strongest Champion, Cynthia." Marshal spoke out, before slamming his fists together. "What an extraordinary challenge!"

"Yeah, let's see how she handles being under pressure by a much stronger, and more experienced opponent." Shauntal agreed, with Grimsley humming in agreement.

"Let's see just how much potential you have, Iris," Alder spoke out lowly, and seriously.

Village of the Dragons, Unova

Seeing her future self's first match-up, Iris couldn't help but feel a little downtrodden. "Great, my debut as Champion of Unova is against my idol, who happens to be the second strongest trainer in the world…"

"Now now, Iris," Drayden spoke out, garnering the young girl's attention. "Who knows, you might be able to cause an upset. But think of this as an opportunity for the future, having self-doubt will only lead to one's downfall."

"Finally, for the fourth and final match, it's Steven Stone vs Ash Ketchum!"

Upon hearing his match-up, Ash looked towards Pikachu. "So it's Steven we are facing…"

"Pika…" Pikachu cooed, nodding his head, a cute determined expression upon his face.

"Ash!" Hearing his name, Ash turned his attention towards the voice, and noticed that it was Steven himself speaking to him. "So, it seems like we finally have a chance to battle!"

"Right, I've been looking forward to this!"

"So have I, I've heard a lot about you from my friend Wallace, it seems you have made quite the name for yourself across the world,"

"Only good things, I hope?" Ash quipped humorously. Steven merely chuckled at that statement, and nodded his head.

Ever Grande Stadium, Hoenn

"So, I'm facing the new rookie, and the very first Champion of Alola…" Steven muttered, although he was a little surprised to see just how well his future self knew of Ash, and how they seemed to be taking jokes between each other.

Petalburg City, Hoenn

"Oh no!" Max cried out, crocodile tears running down his cheeks. "I don't know who to cheer for, the first Alolan Champion, or Steven Stone!"

"Hoenn versus Alola… what an interesting match-up, especially since we have no clue who this Ash Ketchum even is…" Norman commented, crossing his arms.

"I… I think…" Hearing May speak up for the first time in a while, it caused Max, Norman and Caroline to glance towards her, although they were surprised to see her clenched fist on her chest, just over her heart. "I think that Ash will win this… something is just telling me that it will happen."

Norman grunted, having recognized the look that his daughter was giving the future Ash. If he ever came to Hoenn, he would be giving him a stern talking too, that much was certain.

Caroline, however, was cooing up a storm, barely surprising a squeal about her baby girl having her very first crush.

Max was just confused as he tilted his head towards his sister.

Pallet Town, Kanto

"So, Ash will be facing the Hoenn Champion," Professor Oak stated, humming slightly. "It seems as though those two know each other as well,"

"Ash better win this, I will not allow him to slack off! Show me just how powerful Ash has become in the future!" Gary Oak said his sentiment with a clenched fist.

"I know my son can do it!" Delia said, full of confidence that her child could win his battle, and perhaps even the whole tournament.

"So cool! We get to battle the Hoenn Champion!" Ash cried out, excitement coursing through his body as he bounced on the balls of his feet.

"Pika! Pika!" Pikachu cheered alongside his trainer.

"Now, calm down Ash," Misty said, placing her hand on his shoulder to stop him from jumping up and down and perhaps putting his entire body through the lab floor. "Just remember, you will be fighting the third strongest trainer in the world,"

"Beating Steven will not be easy, his Steel-type Pokemon are tough and powerful," Brock said, having heard plenty of stories about Steven Stone, and how his Metagross easily wiped the floor with three different trainers in a row.

"Tell me, Brock," Misty said, getting the older trainer's attention. "All the best Champions have gathered there… would Ash be able to defeat trainers like Cynthia, Lance or even Leon?"

"I don't know, Misty." Brock answered earnestly, shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know how powerful Ash is in the future, though whatever happens, win or lose, we will continue to support Ash."

Pokemon School, Alola

"Alola versus Hoenn… I must say, on paper, Steven Stone does have the advantage going into this." Professor Kukui said, glancing towards the screen at the bond that the Alolan Champion, and the Hoenn Champion had.

"Yeah, but who knows the outcome before it even begins," Samson Oak reprimanded Kukui lightly. "Plus, at least we get to see the potential power of our first Champion."

Professor Kukui nodded at that statement. Then, he glanced towards his students, who seemed to be positively buzzing at the match-up.

"C'mon Ash, you can do it!" Kiawe cheered loudly, hoping that his voice could somehow reach Ash's ears in the future.

"Those are the match-ups for the start of the Masters Eight Tournament! Lets see who will become the World Champion amongst these eight Master Trainers of the world!"

Across the world, people were cheering loudly, everyone was excited and anxious to see such grand battles happening between the most powerful trainings in the world, and everyone was already supporting their respective regional representatives, although quite a few were smitten with the looks of the other trainers from around the world too.

However, before anything else could happen, the screens around the world suddenly went blank, and displayed: "To be continued…"

END CHAPTER

So yes, I do admit that 'watching'/'reading' fics have always been my guilty pleasure. However, instead of characters watching the anime from Season 1 and so, I'm doing a more broader range. I started with this for an introduction and all, but I plan on showing the world Ash's crazy adventures of the past/present/future.

Which means yes, the Legendary Pokemon encounters and such.

However, what do you guys want to see the world react to next? Should I continue with the Masters Eight, or should I come back to that at some point in time? If you want to see one of the Legendary Pokemon encounters, which one should it be?
