Then something even stranger happened. The walker wasn’t trying to attack. Its eyes darted to San’s hand, focusing on the can he held. San, his curiosity piqued, shook the can of beans gently. The walker’s eyes lit up like a puppy’s, wide and fixated on the food.
San blinked, unable to process the sight. A walker... that wants food? Not human flesh, but actual food? He glanced at Seonghwa, who looked just as bewildered but also slightly fascinated.
"Hyung..." San whispered, still holding the can tightly. “I don’t think it wants to bite us.”
The walker’s eyes flickered, and to their absolute shock, it spoke. “F-food,” it said in a low, raspy voice. Its mouth struggled to form the word, but it repeated it again. “F-food.”
Both San and Seonghwa froze. Walkers didn’t speak. They couldn’t speak. They were dead. Or... so they had always thought.
San's heart raced as he exchanged a wide-eyed look with Seonghwa. This wasn’t just any walker. This one could talk—or at least, it could communicate. And it didn’t want to kill them. It wanted food, like a living, breathing person.
San’s mind was spinning. What the hell is this?
