Sorry for any mistakes!

Notes:

Okay, i’d like to say this is my first fanfic ever. I wouldnt have wrote a fanfic, but there is a DISTURBING lack of Jax/Ragatha content here.
So I decided to take matters into my own, inexperienced hands.

I’d like to reccomend “eat your heart out” by mable as a very good Jax/Ragatha fanfic.

I’m not good at writing, its probably, and is terrible. But we need more content!

Chapter 1: broken hearts

Chapter Text

It was a regular day for Ragatha in the digital circus. She got up: just before everyone else, and stretched a bit. They never really got proper sleep here, it was like a light sleep that even the touch of a feather could make you ‘wake’ up.

The little Raggedy ann doll always felt incredibly depressed by it. But done her best not to think to hard on it… she didn’t want to end up like Kaufmo.

Ragatha stood there for a moment, she realised it was a bit earlier than she usually woke up, so she came to a decision: to check on the newest circus member, Pomni.

She was a bit worried about Pomni… her first day here was a lot worse than anybody else’s. Ragatha couldn’t help but feel a small swell of pity in the pit of her stomach.

She eventually departed from her room, walking down the hall with a cheerful smile. A smile which she had to desperately force on when she saw each X on all the doors.

Ragatha done her best not to think about it… especially Kafumos door she saw in the distance. Streaks of red, creating a cross on his picture.

She eventually reached Pomni’s room, unfortunately for her, it was situated right across from a certain purple, arrogant rabbit.

Oh god… she found that rabbit was extremely annoying, everyone did. Jax: the swarmy, mischievous prankster of the circus. He always had a habit of targeting Ragatha too, she felt bad that Pomni would too have to suffer from his antics.

Shaking her head, she knocked on Pomni’s door, giving it three hard knocks.

*Bang*

*Bang*

*Bang*

…. silence

Ragatha reckoned maybe Pomni was asleep, or, didn’t hear her. So, she chose to knock again, three stiff knocks.

*Bang*

*Bang*

B-

The door flew open, revealing a very disheveled and terrified Pomni. Her eyes were as wide as saucers, she looked like a sad puppy, the mixture of blue and red in her eyes blending together… like water…

wait..

Pomni had been crying. Ragatha realised, as she looked over the poor clowns frown. Her eyes furrowed as she gazed into Pomni’s room, covers, pillows, and other objects were dotted randomly around the room. This wasn’t good.

“Oh dear…” Ragatha began, taking on a motherly tone. She paused, trying to think of what to say, in order to not upset the clown further.

Before she could get a word out, Pomni immediately hugs Ragatha and blurts out something at an incredible, indescribable speed.

“Imsosorryileftyouwhenkaufmoabstractedthatwasterribleofmeimsosorry” Pomni cried, clinging onto the dolls skirt as if it was the only thing keeping her alive.

Ragatha took a deep breath, and slowly patted the mini jesters head. Trying to process what she had blurted out.

Once it slowly clicked, the twizzler haired girl smiled, and began to console Pomni.

“Its okay… I told you to go get Caine.. its okay.” Ragatha began, holding Pomni close.

She coughed a bit, “your first day here was… rough.. to say the least.” The doll winced, “but its okay, alright? I forgive you, no harm done.” Ragatha affirmed, drawing circles onto the doe eye’s girls back in order to calm her.

Eventually her consoling began to work, as Pomni slowly settled down, taking a step back as she wiped her tears away.

“ok…” she said in a small voice, looking away like an ashamed puppy dog, Pomni genuinely looked like she hadn’t slept at all.

The raggedy ann look alike adjusted her blouse, “well, I just wanted to check in with you” she smiled, “did you… not get any sleep?” Ragatha questioned softly.

Pomni looked away once again, closing her eyes. There was Ragathas answer:

no.

“Well, its okay. You just rest up here a little until its time for breakfast okay sweet?” The doll smiled, her motherly tone soothing the clown.

Pomni nodded, a come-hither look still plastered on her face. as the clown slowly stepped back into her room. “Thanks..” she gave a small smile, and closed the door.

Ragatha stood there a moment staring at the door, before sighing and adjusting her bow. She took a step back, and made her way down the hall.

Holding onto her dress as she walked, doing her best to not look at the blood red x’s that crossed multiple doors.. an unsettling reminder of her inevitable fate.

However, because of this Ragatha did not notice a particular cocky rabbit hidden, leaning against a wall.

She only noticed him when it was too late, one second, she was walking down the hall, the next, Ragatha was face down tasting the musty carpet.

The doll didn’t have to guess who done it, the snickering and giggling gave it away. She looked up and spotted the smug rabbit, a grin on his face.

“Jax!” She began, slowly getting up, dusting off dirt on her dress. crossing her arms, she was about to speak, but was cut off.

“Sorry doll face, didn’t see ya there~” he grinned, leaning back against the wall, one leg over the over as Jax too crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow.

Ragatha huffed, her hands going down to her sides fiercely, ready to tell Jax off. But instead she paused, and sighed. Looking at the smug cheshire grin he had plastered on his face.

“Whatever…” Ragatha mumbled as she walked away, hoping to be rid of the annoying, yappy, bunny. However, it would seem fate had another plan in mind, as Ragatha heard the rabbit thumps of his feet. Jax caught up to the doll with ease.

Thump,
Thump,
Thump,

“So… raggs..” he began, with a grin, slyly scooting up next to the doll. “How have you been!” Jax snickered, an exceptionally devious glint in his eyes. This could only mean one thing, Jax had done something else, and she was about to find out what it was exactly.

Ragatha sighed, “I’ve been okay Jax…” she smiled, “and you?” She asked, desiring to keep the peace between the two.

Jax stretched, rubbing the back of his neck causally. “Oh nothin’, y’know, aren’t centipedes SO fascinating” He began, slowly hinting towards what he had done. Ragatha immediately sent a sharp glare to Jax, challenging him.

“What did you do Jax…” The doll spat his name with venom, she didn’t need the rabbit to answer her question. Ragatha already knew. and she knew that she wouldn’t be entering her room until she found a solution to get rid of the bug.

Jax put on a fake offended look, “Pshh! What! Why would I do anything to you Raggs?” He grinned innocently. However, it was more akin to creepy.

The doll immediately stopped in her tracks, she was done, with Jax’s little games and stunts. Ragatha wanted just one day, one day, without the rabbit ruining it.

, “I am so sick of you!” Ragatha practically snarled, getting into a very defensive position, and sharply pointing a finger at the bunny.

“You always do this! You always just…” Ragatha paused, groaning as she rubbed her face. Glaring at Jax, noticing how his grin had grew ten fold.

Jax chuckled, putting his hands his back, as he leaned forward, cocking his head to the side in encouragement. “Always just….” He smirked, “just what..? Huh dolly? Just what?” Jax snickered, “spit it out.”

Ragatha stared down the rabbit, huffing a bit, she didn’t want to be rude, but she had enough of Jax’s attitude.

“you always just act pathetic.” She spat, looking up at Jax. “Absolutely, pathetic..” she said, her face red with anger, however, Jax, being an asshole took it out of context.

He gave a grin, his eyes squinting with mirth, “awhh… is the little dolly blushing..” he teased, trying to get under Ragathas skin.

And it worked.

The raggedy ann doll had just about enough of this, so she done something she never done before in her whole time in this circus.

She slapped Jax in the face.

Almost immediately that grin was wiped off of the rabbits face, replaced with a shocked and bewildered expression. As he looked at the little dolly, slack jawed.

Ragatha said nothing, as she sent a sharp glare, and stormed away, back down the hall, away from Jax. She just didn’t want to be near him in ANY way at all.

While the doll was fuming with rage, Jax had his own little problem.

Ragatha snapped. Ragatha slapped him.

Jax stood there, the red mark of the slap stinging across his face. The harsh red contrast to his light purple fur. The rabbit was going through a hundred emotions, but, he done what he done best.

Jax put on his sharky tooth grin, and waltzed casually over to the dinner table, as if nothing happened. Ignoring his strong desire to run to the doll, apologise, beg for forgiveness. Anything.

Anything for his dolly.
