Chapter Text
Twelve
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Twelve knew he had a life, one beyond the confined, bland white walls of the lab, one beyond the endless experiments that required him to exert himself by using what dr Brenner called his ‘gifts’. However, the only problem was he couldn’t remember, no matter how much he tried to dig through the memories in his brain, the only thing he could vaguely remember was a brown haired woman and a brown haired teen.
When dr Brenner discovered the power he had, unmatched by any of his other ‘children’ (experiments), he turned twelve into a weapon, a reluctant one; however, after twelve had to endure the electric shock collar, be began to do what was asked. Twelves gentle and intelligent nature didn’t go unnoticed, as brenner began to use musical instruments, art materials and non-fiction books as ‘positive reinforcement’. Although twelve enjoyed everything that had been given to him, he couldent help but feel like a dog, a pawn.
Twelves first act of ‘rebellion’ as dr brenner liked to call it was refusing to eat, then it was refusing to partake in any tests or experiments. Dr brenner wrote all of these things off as teenage angst, believing it would all pass, and twelve knew that, which was when he had thought of a plan. One to escape. Find out who twelve really is. He needed to escape.
It was one dark, wet night when twelve escaped the lab, sprinting through the forest on bare feet. He sought shelter underneath some trees, curling up into a ball, and falling asleep, he was finally free. It want until two days later when twelve had ventured out into the forest more that we was spotted by brenners men who had apparwntly ben looking for him, twelve knew brenner wouldnet let him get away that easily.
