Work Text:
If someone were to ask Kongpob what are the best parts of Arthit, they would have already been struggling to stop Kongpob from going into his never-ending details that are way too detailed, if we might say, about the things his phi had shown— only to him, mind you, that make his insides go wild.
So when he started giving that thought more attention, that was where he found himself writing a letter as a form of appreciation towards those parts of Arthit.
It was supposed to be only a simple letter, but who was he kidding? He ended up writing a whole list in their journal plus a letter he had originally planned. He just couldn’t stop.
The sun was just going down, the couple were just finished stuffing their stomachs, enjoying the comfortable silence surrounding the dining area they’re seated at. Kongpob was the first to break the silence.
”I have something for you,”
leaving his boyfriend for a second to look for his letter that was nicely put on his study table. And soon enough, moved its position to the comfort of Arthit’s hand.
“What is this, Kong?” Arthit looks genuinely confused with his eyebrows scrunched so cutely like that.
Kongpob just wants to kiss that frown right then and there. So he does.
“Hey!”
Arthit isn’t mad, he just got caught off guard. Kongpob knows it so well.
“See it for yourself, P’.”
So Arthit complies, scanning through a page of their shared journal filled with memories throughout the years of their relationship. Kongpob is there the whole time to watch how a smile breaks out from the corner of Arthit’s lips.
Arthit can't help but try to find his lover’s eyes after he finally stops on the last sentence. He just needs to see— to ensure to himself, that Kongpob truly means what he wrote. Not that he actually expected otherwise.
After all, he knows Kongpob would never lie to him about such a thing. But as he said, he just needs to be sure of it. And it is never in his nature to trust that much without even a hint of doubt sprinkling on top.
Just as he looks up, only to find nothing but sincerity in those warm brown eyes.
”Kongpob, ” that’s the only thing he managed to utter just now. He truly is at a loss for words, like he always does. And that’s on Kong’s doings that always make him unable to think properly, or just— think of anything, really.
”Yes, P’Arthit?”
Before he could think any further, he found himself saying, ”the best part of me is you.”
He has no idea how that thought had managed to slip out from his mouth so faultlessly with no hint of uncertainty whatsoever.
Maybe it's the way he knows so damn well that it's the truth and how he had always been waiting for the right time to have those words spoken out loud.
Right. He really should be more honest with himself. Exactly what Kong constantly reminds him.
“What?” Kongpob rarely finds difficulties to answer, but how does one expect him to respond to the most unexpected thing his boyfriend had blabbered just now?
Oh, P’Arthit and his way that always manages to catch Kongpob off guard.
“You heard me.” Arthit couldn’t handle the intensity of Kongpob’s gaze towards him so, of course, he looks away.
“I— yeah, but- what do you mean?”
Arthit draws in a breath, the following sentences just seem to flow out so naturally from his mouth.
“You showed the best parts of me from your point of view, so I’m telling you the best part of me from my point of view. And that is simply you.”
Kongpob hadn’t even gotten a time to take a breath after Arthit’s confession, let alone take in what his lover had just said— but turns out, Arthit really is merciless towards Kongpob’s heart, since it doesn’t stop there. Words just keep on coming from his mouth.
“I wouldn’t have believed I have all these things in me if it wasn’t for you giving me reasons to believe them. And you just never stopped giving me more reasons to. So thank you, Kong. You should know that you mean a lot to me.”
Kongpob is definitely overwhelmed now. That was totally not what he expected to come out from his boyfriend’s mouth. Kongpob’s poor heart might burst if his phi keeps on talking.
“P’Arthit, I feel like I might die if I don’t kiss you right now.”
“So dramatic,” grumbles Arthit, yet he leans in anyway. Because deep down he knows he needs it too. And action always speaks louder than words in his dictionary.
The kiss was slow and short, but it held so many feelings that the two beings in that room could not put into words. Yet, they can thoroughly feel it when one lips meets the other.
“You know... people said I look at you like you hung the moon. They’re not wrong. You truly do hang the moon for me.”
“Yuck. Will your cheesy lines ever stop?” Arthit might complain, but the blush stamped into his face never lies. So Kongpob could only grin harder with that answer.
“Never.”
That’s just the thing about his P’Arthit, Kongpob could go on and on listing down the things he loves about his boyfriend and it still wouldn’t be enough. It would never be enough. Because even words are not enough to express the way he feels towards the things Arthit does to him.
Kongpob might have discovered Arthit’s habits throughout the past years he had started to feed his curiosity about that one particular tangled ball of thread that he’d come to know as Arthit’s brain. Still, he could never find a way to expect Arthit’s next move towards him.
Because that's just the way Arthit is, he is anything but predictable. It should terrify Kongpob, but let’s be honest, he does love a little surprise. Especially being that it comes from his boyfriend.
And Kongpob couldn’t be more lucky to have him in his life. Just like how lucky Arthit is for having Kongpob, too.
