“Ah,” Thancred said. He crossed his arms in front of him, watched Urianger from underneath his bangs. “And what kind of lies were these?”
Urianger dropped his gaze, let it trace over the filigreed florals of the living room rug before he dared lifting it again. “Lies as to the nature of our relationship.”
--Moenbryda had always worried after Urianger, and that had only gotten worse when he'd moved across the country for a teaching position. In order to ease some of those worries, he may have told her that he was in a committed, loving relationship with his roommate, Thancred. He'd never actually expected her to come to visit, had never actually expected it to be an issue. What a shortsighted mistake that had been.
