Summary
John’s had feelings for Arthur for as long as they’ve known each other. He can’t help it–no matter how hard he tries to push the thoughts away or trick himself into falling for someone else, they remain like a stubborn scar.
When a moment of impulsivity lets his secret out, things grow tense between them, and John thinks he’s ruined their already contentious relationship.

"Can you tip your head back?" Arthur asks and he sounds hesitant, a little ashamed, "Just a bit."
"Mm… Move me," John says, hoarse, "I don't know what you want."
Arthur goes very quiet for a moment then leans back in, two fingers under John's chin, tilting the younger’s head back, exposing his neck.
John’s eyelids flutter for a moment, feeling exposed.
"This ain’t how I sleep," John whispers, teasing.
"It's how I want you."
John almost curses at the pang of heat low in his gut that makes his toes curl in his socks.
