It starts with a bracing hand on her shoulder, meant to help Ashley regain her balance after a tossed flash grenade had caught her by surprise. She jumps, but relaxes as soon as she realizes it’s him, lips quirking into a fleeting smile of thanks before the worry returns and wipes it clean. Leon files her reaction away, and makes a point of never approaching her from behind again.

Summary
