If it was another day—a day before Whitaker found out the guy he had a kinda-sorta thing with, the guy he gets on his knees for, the guy who pulls his hair and ties his hands behind his back and calls him a good boy, a day before he found out that guy was his new boss—he'd ask if Whitaker was being cheeky because he was looking for a punishment.
