A few seconds passed, Mysta’s confused expression was the only thing that greeted the sorcerer’s unanswered question. The detective seemed to be contemplating something as he gave Shu a long stare. When the sorcerer didn’t elaborate further, Mysta’s eyes widened slightly.
Or Shu realises something through a long thought process with Mysta's help.

The premise: Luca's whole family (friends included) thinks he has been in a seven-year relationship with Shu and marriage is imminent on the horizon.
The problem: Luca has not, in fact, been dating Shu for seven years. They are simply good friends and roommates who sometimes sit in each other's laps and eat off each other's forks.
The (bigger) problem: Luca accidentally agreed to bring Shu home to meet his parents.
