Summary
He spent weeks trying to cast himself as the villain. It was a great role. Villains don't have to explain themselves. Villains just walk away with a smile. But there is no vitriol here for him to cling his anger to. Only a quiet, devastating hope.
or: Lee Leo leaves Trainee A to find himself.

Summary
Sangwon looks at him—takes the risk and looks at him. An ache settles on his chest, deep, so deep it’s growing roots. If this pain is what’s left from their love, then Sangwon wants to open his chest bare so Leo can hurt him once, twice, all the times he wants. This big, unbearable pain that draws across his body is nothing compared to the love he used to feel. The love is buried as deep as the roots—the roots themselves wrap around it. Two things that can’t be seen separated but as a whole.
What has been Sangwon's loves if not the cause of his pain because he cannot have them? They’ll hurt him. They will always hurt him. But Sangwon wants to love and love and love them all again.
or: Sangwon and Leo find their way back after so many years.

Summary
A 21st-century historian, Lee Leo is a gifted-but-jaded academic more comfortable with dusty archives than people. When a rare artifact throws him back in time, he awakens stranded in 18th-century Joseon, armed only with his knowledge of the future.
His brilliant, anachronistic mind catches the attention of the politically isolated and haunted Crown Prince, Lee Sangwon. Appointed as the Prince's secret confidante, a deep and forbidden love emerges in the quiet sanctuary of the royal library. Leo must help his prince navigate a treacherous court and become the great king history remembers, all while knowing that every page they turn together brings them closer to a farewell written in time itself.

Summary
Anxin's laughter, however, feels like a drill, like an out-of-tune violin in the middle of an acappella choir.
“It's okay,” Sangwon whispers slowly, raising his hands to frame Leo's face. Leo realizes that he has slowed his movements, losing his rhythm for a second. “They can't hear us.”
Leo knows, and perhaps that's what bothers him the most. Now that he's lost his concentration, he can hear it clearly: Xinlong's deep voice, the perfect mandarin that still sounds alien to him, that laugh.
He hates that laugh.
