when code 505 was announced, hinata shoyo heard nothing. the ringing in his ears was loud enough to block out the sounds of screaming, of papers being collected and the others in his office scrambling to leave. to go home, to see their families. hinata shoyo had no one. no one to run home to; no one to say his possible last goodbye to. he had no one, but he had a duty. a duty to serve and protect; so when his finger hovers over the final 9 of that phone number, he knows the last sound he will hear will not be the screaming around him.
