Summary
"I kinda wondered if they even knew Bruce was out there, and I also kinda worried I was making shit worse by even asking. They might try to run him off, seeing as the woods behind the church still belonged to the church, and sometimes churches are the last place you want to be when you need help."
I finished NITW and couldn't get Pastor Kate and Bruce off my mind, so I decided to write a non-canon account of the friendship that grows between Mae and Bruce. Deals with religious conflict and questioning beliefs, also Mae is a bit of a jerk but that's nothing new.

Summary
“Oh, gods forbid they respond positively to you doing a good thing,” Neve deadpans. She squeezes him a little again. “That’s sort of how it works, Astarion.”
She can’t even see it. Believes the best of them all so earnestly, himself included, that she can’t see how it would all fall away without her at the center. It’s enough to make a person feel like they might actually deserve it.
“And by it, you mean…?” he asks instead.
Her huffed laugh of disbelief ruffles the hair at his neck. “Friendship, you idiot,” she answers. “And the general acquisition thereof.”
Astarion cuts a sideways look at her as best he can with her still nestled so close. “And is that what we are? Friends?”
He’d meant it to tease her, and yet finds that the silence before her answer twists his stomach. Because…he doesn’t actually know, either.
“Yes, Astarion,” Neve says gently, after a moment. “I think we’re very good friends.”
-
Neve and Astarion, continued. She's not a victim. Not a target. Not just one night it's better to forget. But then...whatever in the world could she be?

Summary
He can feel her pulse fluttering; can smell the head-blood dripping from her scalp and forgets, for a moment, why there’s a dagger where his mouth should be.
Come with us, she says, and he thinks her a fool.
When he follows, he wonders if he is, too.

Summary
“I don’t understand!” Astarion huffs, straightens, regains his composure. “You so obviously want me and here I am, offering myself to you,” he spreads his arms, gives a half sarcastic little bow, displaying the strong lines of his body beneath his fine clothes. “I am doing so entirely of my own free will. I am not trying to coerce you, or manipulate you, I am trying— Well, to seduce you, yes, but not for any untoward reasons! I want you. Can’t you trust that?”
“No.” You say.

Summary
Astarion. His name uttered mercilessly from the lips of Cazador, as he mutilated his body, carving infernal script into his flesh. Whispered in his ear, as another conquest writhed under his body, blissfully unaware of their doomed fate. But for the first time in centuries, Astatron learns, he can bear to hear his name from another, free from guilt and shame.
Tav is just– well, Tav. An adventurer of little renown swept up in a race for survival. Marching onward to live another day is all that matters. But with uncertain days ahead, Astarion’s honeyed words are difficult to resist– even if laced with poison. Keeping her wits about her might be more difficult than ridding herself of the damned Mind Flayer parasite.
A (mostly) canon-compliant series of vignettes about Astarion's past and Astarion/Female Tav, with a dash of creative liberty. Rape/non-con tag because everything under Cazador was rape.
