Summary
Around Baku, Seongje felt like a suicide soldier with nuclear bombs exploding in his ears all the time. Around Baekjin, Seongje felt like a stupid dog because of the annoying whistle, they never seemed to stop.
“Stop it!”
“Stop what?”
He turned around only to find Baekjin hadn’t even raised his head to look at him since Seongje stepped in, let alone to open his mouth and whistle.
But around Hyuntak, Seongje only heard silence. It was not a pleasant sensation, yet not uncomfortable either. Something was deeply wrong with him in ways Seongje couldn’t bring himself to admit. But to be brutally honest for once in his life, Seongje found it pleasing to come back to him, to block all the ringing in his ears after a whole day long with Hyuntak around. Only with Hyuntak around.

Hyuntak never spares a second glance.
Hyuntak sets the boundary clear by always being the first to leave after they’ve done, no matter how trembling his legs are or how fucked out he might look.
Seongje is a little bit disappointed that he can’t read Hyuntak’s feelings easily like he used to, especially when the younger leans against the doorframe, cruel goodbye rolling out of his tongue sounds as sweet as candy with a cocky smile that Seongje knows will make his mischievous round eyes disappear.
“Gotta leave before you love me.”
Hyuntak says that every time. And surely he should, for Seongje hates his poor heart being seen cracked.

He had—he had midterm assignments due, for God’s sake! He didn’t have the time—nor the bandwidth—to be acting like a damn fool. But here he was, clawing at the walls and kicking his feet against the bed. This whole debacle had been eating into his sleep, too, and he’d go to class running on at least two cans of Celsius, looking like a damn zombie, sitting behind...him.

At that moment, Taki chose to squat in the middle of the mat and pee.
"Oh shit," Dongha said.
"Yeah, shit," Baekjin said still laughing.

Hyuntak needs to drive a guy away in ten days for an article. Seongje needs to make a guy fall for him in ten days for a contract.
They meet at a bar. They pick each other.

But deep down, he was thankful to him (not that he would ever say that to his face).
Cause he had two things that kept him afloat now. Two things that excited him: cooking and whatever he had with Seongje. One he was proud of and the other he would take to his grave.

The cuffs bite cold against the skin of Hyuntak’s wrists but he barely notices. Not with Seongje staring back at him with a blank look on his face, hands shoved into the pockets of the leather clinging to his frame. He can't even begin to make sense of it - how he's here, taking the fall for murders he never committed.
