“Lena,” Kara said softly as the light-hearted humour died away, “where are you?”
“I’m…” Lena swallowed thickly, eyes tearing up as she started to feel panic and vulnerability seep out from inside of her. “I’m somewhere I don’t think you should visit.”
“Oh.” Kara whispered dejectedly.
“I mean I don’t think you’ll want to visit.” Lena clarified because the concept of making Kara feel rejected or abandoned was far worse than anything else she could experience.
“If you’re there then-”
“I’m at the Luthor mansion.”

Nancy stared at her, her expression shifted. Not angry. Not hurt. Focused. Eerily similar to her I'm gonna commit a crime face. “Robin.”
“Nancy?” Robin tilted her head. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Nancy stepped closer. Close enough that Robin’s back brushed the edge of the desk behind her. Then her hands fell to Robin's hips, keeping her in place,
“Robin Buckley,” Nancy deliberately tipped her head up so their gazes were locked, “I underestimated how catastrophically bad you're at social cues.”
Robin huffed. “Rude, I told you I was.”
“Look at me.”
Robin did. She always did when Nancy asked like that.
“We have been dating,” Nancy said slowly, enunciating every word, “for nearly six months.”
Or,
Steve is needling Robin into finally landing herself a girlfriend—both unaware she already has one at home.

Robin bites her cheek and passes the bottle back and forth between her hands. “I know,” she says, small. “Guess I'm just not used to it, is all.”
“Well, consider this an exercise,” Nancy says. “Tell me now.”
She waits a long time for Robin to respond.
“I don’t really think she wants me.” The admission is barely a whisper.
“What do you mean?” Nancy wants to tell her, of course she does, how could anyone not want you?
Robin stares at her knees. “When we... mess around, she doesn't touch me.”
