He spreads out his arms in what he hopes is a welcoming manner and wills his voice not to shake. “Ah, Hiccup Haddock! Son of my good friend, Stoick the Vast. To what do I owe the pleasure?” The man hopes he sounds genuine as he approaches the figure. A night fury curling around the kid’s legs makes it hard to focus. Olav stops when the dragon growls.
“You know why I’m here.”

“Luffy-ya.” Law repeats, pushing down the embarrassment that comes along with the next words. Luffy pauses in his questions, sensing the urgency in Law’s tone. “I need you to pick me up.”
Silence. Law takes a moment, prepared to say it again when he’s cut off by the loudest laugh through the speaker of the snail. Luffy cackles, loud and squeaky as he smacks his knee with his hands. He hears a few other Strawhat’s join in, and his face flushes a bright red.
“Assholes, the lot of you.”
“Don’t worry Torao!” Zoro laughs, cooing as he speaks. “Captain will come get you.”
Law’s eye twitches and he glares at the transponder snail. “Shut the fuck up, Zoro-ya.”
Basically, after his fight with Blackbeard, Law and Bepo stumble upon Shanks and his crew; unintentionally. Avoiding death again, Law convinces him to let him borrow a snail to call someone to pick him up.
To the amusement of Shanks, it just to happens to be the Strawhat Pirates.
