The hate gets suffocating after a time, threatens to choke her between the silks of her bed and let the meat from her bones rot until she is unrecognizable. Hating the Queen has made Rhaenyra into a different person, more dragon than girl, her skin turning from satin to scales. Hating her half-brother has made her into a tyrant, willing to kill a babe if it meant the threat of disinheritance would disappear.
But hating the Queen’s brother, it has made her so much worse.

This might truly be one of the most wonderful, dearest things this fandom has gifted me.
Jegulus in here is… warm. Like a sunny day in spring. It’s metaphorical and cuddly and angsty for two seconds before it’s mending it’s hurts edges and just tucking in to each other. It’s pure chemestry, delicious smut, lots of amazing dialogue and snark and sass and laughter. It’s James POV as a love declaration with every paragraph and it never gets old. I don’t think I’ve read a more affections Jegulus than in here, and it fits theme perfectly. Sirius and Remus in here are so organic and fun. Their wedding day was one of the happiest, coziest, most beautiful scenes I’ve read in the Marauders fandom ever. I’m so in love with this work and this relantionship.
PS:
Reading this for the second time just cemented this as one of the loveliest Jegulus for me. It’s so precious, and to read it all through James’ perspective makes it even more special. The writing is so sensitive and poetic and beautiful, overall. Their dialogues are lovely and so genuinely fun. I loveeeee their personalities, they are so organic and have such I believe chemistry and it’s nonstop entertainment. Might be one of my favorite Jegulus’s personality portrayals, they are so full of it, both of them. Ugh, I want to live inside this fic and I will forever hope to read a follow up on it. -
