After a solid minute, he was pretty sure Derek was asleep, and was about to put his phone back down when he finally saw the three dots appear, denoting that he was typing.
Waiting, he knew Derek had to be typing and deleting things, because he spent much too long typing for the two words he sent in response over thirty seconds later.
