He’s forgone his usual sorcerer’s cloak and unbuttoned his collar for the exercise, and Tsukasa watches his Adam’s apple as he speaks. He doesn’t think he’s ever been so distracted by another man’s neck in his life.
You are the matter.
In which Rui convinces Tsukasa to spar with him, and it goes even worse than expected.

Summary
They’ve done this before, but something feels different this time, kissing deep into the night after the words they’ve just spoken and the feelings that came with them. There’s so much Tsukasa wants to say, so many words of adoration ready to pour out of his mouth, but he knows neither he nor Rui know how to navigate feelings like that just yet.
So they simply lie there in each other’s arms, lips pressed together, and Tsukasa only hopes that everything he feels gets across somehow.
In which Rui spends a routine night at Tsukasa’s, and they both fall a little too deep into their feelings.

“Oh, that reminds me!” Tsukasa suddenly straightens up, looking over to Rui and flashing him a grin. “There was something we always used to do after we came here. Come with me.”
Rui barely has a second to think—(there really is something about how Tsukasa looks in the light of a sunset)—before Tsukasa grabs his hand and pulls him up, starting back towards the arcade.
In which Tsukasa takes Rui to a place filled with memories, and they both leave with some new ones.

Summary
There’s a blanket strewn over the far side of the couch which Rui stands up to grab, draping it as lightly as he can around Tsukasa without touching him. And then he stays there for a minute, looking at him. Tsukasa’s bangs have fallen into his eyes since he’s been asleep, strands catching in his eyelashes, and suddenly Rui wants so badly to reach out and brush them back away.
But he catches himself, remembers the situation and what he can’t, mustn’t do to a friend who already trusts him enough to fall asleep in his company.
So instead of leaning over, he stays sat where he is. Tsukasa’s already given him the world, and he couldn’t possibly be so selfish as to ask for even more.
He exists in the shadows to push Tsukasa into the light. That’s his role and he will stick to it, his own feelings placed aside on the backburner.
Tsukasa lets out a snore from beside him, blissfully unaware.
All’s fair in love and war, but falling in love isn’t always fair.

Tamsy was weird, Enjin thought. He was a mystery, with kind eyes and a soft demeanor, but there was something else. Something sinister, but no matter what he did or looked into, no signs of anything out of the ordinary arose.
And now, he was right here, pulling Enjin into him like he was his own universe, with his very own gravitational pull. Tamsy had that effect on people; he makes them want to get closer, to play with him, and toe the line of real and fake. He was a bad omen, or perhaps he wasn’t; his walls were too high to tell.
