"Okay, but objectively," Kaveh started, pacing back and forth across the living room rug, "do you guys think he's hot?"

"We've never seen his face, Kaveh."

"Stop looking at me like that. I just want to know if he's handsome. Is that a crime?"

Alhaitham, who had gone very quiet, snapped his book shut.

"I need to make a call."

Kaveh blinked at him. "A call? To who?"

    "Work."

Tighnari frowned. "You've never mentioned what you actually do for work."

Alhaitham was already halfway to the door. "Because none of you would understand it."

Kaveh is a cosplayer; in other words, a modern-day Prince Charming in a world where chivalry is dead, as quoted from Cyno.

All artists know that art, in any form, comes from a fundamental basis of inspiration. He's a very big fan of the anonymous comic book author known by the pseudonym “Sage". He doesn't make much of an effort to hide this fact.

The only issue is this: he also has no idea that "Sage" lives in the same apartment, one door down.

    Summary

"Few people know how to truly relax," Ratio says, perched on the edge of Aventurine's desk. It makes his thighs double in size. Aventurine's thoughts begin to scatter. "Relaxation is a process. As such, naturally there are practical, step-by-step instructions to achieve it.”

"Right," he says, forcing his gaze away. "My, doctor, could one take a guess and assume that some of the relaxation you're referring to is of the more…” He flicks his fingers. “Intimate kind?”

Something curious happens: Ratio stalls. He averts his gaze as his cheeks dust over with pink.

He recovers quickly, however, coughing into his palm and resuming right where he left off. “It would be inane to exclude the potential of intimacy.”

Aventurine is stressed. The knowledgeable Dr. Ratio offers an expert, thorough, only slightly self-indulgent solution.

    "Veritas," he whispers.

    "Yes, love?"

Oh, that's—he's never called Aventurine that before. Not like that. Never so softly. The endearment lands with enough force to propel him forward before doubt can catch up.

“When you get back,” Aventurine ventures, finally letting the thought leave the safety of his head, “do you want to move in?”

A year in the life of Aventurine and Veritas—and the nerve-wracking ordeal of figuring out the whole relationship thing.

Neuvillette is aware of his misunderstandings about human behavior so he is resigned to continuing his search in looking for cues. Wriothesley has been nothing but polite and distant. Every time Neuvillette is turned looking at Wriothesley, Wriothesley is looking away.
Look at me, Neuvillette’s eyes plead over the fluke of his glass, a silent begging that thrums with a desperation he has only ever held for Wriothesley.

Neuvillette, after the return of his authority severs the shackles of his isolation, is looking for a mate. Wriothesley is a considerable candidate. He makes sure to vet him thoroughly.

    Summary

It felt right to be with Alhaitham, this resolute stranger, even if it was just to linger next to him, sun overhead, voices of patrons nearby overlapping. He would do this. But where was this hesitance springing from?

Asking someone on a date, well, he must have done this before, surely, even if it surfaced as a blank. Even if he hadn’t, there was a first time for everything. The hesitance curdled, a harrowing sensation, akin to erosion in the gut of his being. Just what was this?

He couldn’t recall, but no longer could he stall, with time pressing and Alhaitham’s presence threatening to separate from his side, where he was the only receiver of that pressing, omniscient gaze.

“Listen,” he began. Alhaitham’s expression failed to change, and neither did Alhaitham move. Only by speaking it could Alhaitham’s mind be known. “I hope I’m not being too forward- that is, I hope I’m interpreting things correctly, but I’d like to do this again, if you’re also interested.”

(An amnesiac Kaveh professes his interest in handsome stranger Alhaitham. Once recovered, Kaveh is compelled by his and Alhaitham’s mutual honesty to reveal his true feelings despite his own self-doubts.)
