almost pass on this until i saw the date and suddenly gained insight into how an archeologist feels discovering ancient religious artifacts.
i wonder if they would have been friends had this happened, most likely they would have drifted apart still. though, it's interesting to think that they could only either have eachother, or both become champions. they were not destined to lasted either way.
