"You're free," Oongka had said, when all was said and done, the threat was over and relative peace returned to the land in the wake of the dark god's fall. What a cruel irony, for after everything, Kliff runs afoul of slavers out in the desert, and through a twist of bad luck is unable to fight them off. He is sent to the slave market in Tommaso to be auctioned off, shackled in more ways than one.
After far too long, Oongka finds him and brings him home.

The problem is that Cidolfus Telamon, in person, is not smaller than the version in Clive's head.

Summary
It's been fifty years.
Fifty years since Noctis was tricked into knocking Prompto off a speeding train, causing his death. Noctis had miraculously survived the consequences of his own intended sacrifice and saved the world, bringing the dawn back to the people of Eos. He didn't die… but in all that time he also hadn't aged a day.
Her Imperial Majesty, Solara Aldercapt Antiquum, (who looks significantly older than Noctis these days), reaches out for help with an area of her territory that has become completely wild and uninhabitable with roses and thorns. Magically sealed off and impenetrable to any attempts made to reclaim the land, the borders of this strange thorny forest have expanded rapidly over decades and has crept dangerously close to a resettled rural village in Eusciello.
As the only living person on Eos still capable of wielding magic in any capacity, it falls to Noctis to investigate this strange phenomenon, which just so happens to encircle the location where he had been forced to abandon his best friend's body fifty years ago.
