Moving from Manchester to Inverness Scotland had to be the worst thing that's ever happened to him during the 15 miserable years of life he'd spent on this planet.
And that was saying something. For fucks sake he'd been stabbed, beaten, berated by his father, ignored by his mother, just generally traumatized by his brother, left to the mercy of the foster care system, witnessed the brutal murder of his family and a handfull of other people and somehow this still took the bloody cake. Fucking Scotland.

Simon has to move to Scotland with his new foster family he wants nothing to do with anyone until he meets John Mactavish a charismatic football captain who shows him that maybe he has more than he thinks he has. Shenanigans ensue.

“Max seduced you?” Alex laughs incredulously. “Somehow I struggle to believe that.”
“Well he did. And now I think I’m kind of falling for him and I hate it. Help me.” George groans, lying back and sprawling out his limbs. It’s a little childish but he’s allowed to be dramatic about this- he’s falling in love with his rival.
“Okay, okay,” Alex soothes, probably sensing that George is about to go from playful theatrics to actual hysteria. “Well, do you think he might be developing feelings for you too?”
He thinks of staring at the outline of Max’s face as he said, ‘You could come find me. I’d look after you;’ he thinks of waking up in Max’s bed for the first time with the covers draped over his clean body; he thinks of Max’s firm, warm hand on his torso and ‘let me see you.’
And he nearly says yes.
