Other-Delgal is often here. He keeps to himself for the most part, but in the mornings, he arrives with fresh bread. It’s been a while since anyone has brought him food, another testament to Other-Delgal’s concern for Thistle’s well-being. He splits it down the middle and smears it with a generous amount of fig jam before handing it to Thistle.
“You are not Delgal,” Thistle states instead of a simple thanks. His voice is rough from scarce use, clawing up from his throat like a beast that has spent far too long in the depths of his chest. He tries not to grimace; in times past, his voice was viewed as a treasure of the Golden Country. People would flock from all over at the chance to see Freinag’s beloved jester warble of tales now forgotten.
“No,” Other-Delgal says. “I’m not.”
“You look like him.”
“I know.”

His long fingers form a bridge beneath his chin and his visible eye sparkles as he peers over at Takumi. “No strings attached, and I won’t tell anyone what you’ve told me… Even if they should try to torture it out of me, my lips are sealed.”
“Everything you say about yourself sounds like it should be in the about section of a dating app,” Takumi points out, but he shakes his head. “It’s fine. It isn’t a big deal, so I don’t mind saying… but you don’t have to be tight-lipped about it either. It’s just… you know.” Takumi picks at his pants, then stops, smoothing them down. They’d gone to a significant amount of effort to change the design of their Class Armour. He’d really get an earful from the girls if he caused any permanent damage. “It’s… today is…”
“Your birthday?” Omokage supplies. Takumi chokes on his own spit again.

Their home, built by the shades under Hades’ employ. Or rather, at the behest of the stranger.

It's unseemly what Will does to him, the way that Leon thinks of him, fixates on him, with an intensity beyond fraternity, beyond admiration, beyond even infatuation. He is not much – objectively, he is not much at all – yet the way that he makes Leon's heart lurch with something kinder than fear, warmer than loneliness, is ruinous.

He saw the side-eyes, the subtle wiping of hands on aprons after taking his money, the wide berth people gave him when they saw him coming down the street.
The idea of touch as a casual commodity was foreign, a luxury he wasn't afforded as an elda.
He didn't mind it, content to shy away from everyone he ran into-Until serendipity introduced him to a certain noble who had no qualms in allowing Will into his space, and for the first time in his life, Will wanted to reach out.

Summary
Gallica’s first inclination is to be suspicious. The brake to Will’s engine, so to speak. He’s the one to run ragged over a lost toy as much as he is to raise his weapon in defense of a beggar; she’s the one to ensure that they escape with their lives and pockets halfway full for another day.
So when Will, of all people, tells her to “stay in my bag” and to “not leave until I say you can,” she is, very rightfully, doubtful. Betrayed, maybe. His ears are her ears; her eyes are his eyes; they combine to corroborate the information gained from the world around them.
Will’s got a secret. Gallica takes it upon herself to figure it out, not realizing that this secret also concerns another companion of theirs, and misinterprets just about everything to do with their relationship along the way.
or: gallica, the ever-reliable one, learns about will and strohl’s romance and underestimates how absolutely smitten they are with each other.

Ask anyone a question containing the words “Will” and “love,” and they’d guess that he loves quietly, gracefully; that he’d bunch a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a box of chocolates in the other, extending both of them out toward the object of his affections with a soft smile.
They are wrong.
Because Will loves Strohl – he’s said so many, many times at this point, and Strohl would be a fool not to just believe him already – and this? This is not, by any meaning of the word, quiet.
The clemars are a mighty tribe, commanding respect. The clemars are stuck in their ways, blindly following tradition. Strohl is a clemar, and while he’ll never be the one to fling insults on the basis of one’s tribe, sometimes he can’t help but think it would’ve been better if he wasn’t. For Will.

Will’s eyes flick open. Strohl becomes slack-jawed and blissfully absent of thought, looking into them at point-blank range, but grinds his teeth back together. “I’m only kidding,” Will says, running a thumb over Strohl’s cheekbone, and then he laughs.
Kandera would shock Strohl less than this electric current in his veins.
Some journeys start in response to an injustice, a breach of faith, and a desire to rectify. A clemar who’s wandered for the past seven years, loosely held together by the pride on his back and staunch stubbornness stumbles upon the start of his own at long last.
He wouldn’t know it, though. Not many journeys begin with meeting an elda. And nowhere did this clemar write that he expected to fall in love with said elda.
