Summary
You see, the thing was, Aziraphale hadn’t meant to spend thousands of years wistfully wishing and hoping for something he was certain couldn’t ever possibly happen.
Or, two 6,000-year-old idiots finally realize they're in love with each other.

Summary
Things were different, after what was supposed to be the end of all things.
Obviously, there were the big differences, like the Ineffable Plan being in question, the Apocalypse not happening, the Antichrist being a good kid who did his best to right things, and the fact that Heaven and Hell were convinced Crowley and Aziraphale were hybrid freaks, gone native, and unkillable.
But there were little differences, too. And these were the ones that kept Crowley up at night.
Aziraphale was...different. In the best ways, for sure, as the angel relaxed for the first time in six thousand years. But also in ways that set Crowley’s unnecessary heart pounding, and made his breath catch in fear.

Summary
At the start of the fifteenth century, masquerade balls were the newest and greatest way to celebrate occasions. In London, pining Crowley and hopeless Aziraphale make their way to the palace as it celebrates Christmas Eve in a grandiose fashion. After giving up on a romantic future with each other, the two meet and fall in love for a night, their identities hidden from the world (and each other) behind masks.

Calling it a sin kinda missed the point. For Aziraphale, loving Crowley was the greatest blessing ever bestowed on him.

Summary
popular opinion tells us that hell is a raging inferno. this is incorrect. hell, at its very core, is cold, a damp, dark, freezing place, which makes more sense anyways because hell is the opposite of heaven, and heaven is built on the idea of love, and love, as we all know, is the warmest thing that exists on this earth.
or, crowley decides that some things are worth burning up for.
