"It's 11 p.m. What could you possibly need from me right now?" Jack replied. It was his night off but truthfully, he had just been sitting on his couch, annotating a case report.
"As a policy, I don't ask about whatever your relationship to Dr. Mohan–" Robby started.
"There's no relationship, man. We're friends. That's all," Jack cut Robby off, his attention redirecting sharply at the mention of her name. It was true enough for purposes of wherever this conversation was going.
"Be that as it may, she listens to you. And she sure as hell doesn't listen to me. A group of us are at Donegan's and no one is sober enough to drive but Samira–she's–well, I'm not her favorite person at the moment. Can you come get her and drive her home?"
