Summary
Carl is sitting there at the kitchen table, his fingers idly gliding over the rim of a whisky glass next to a bottle that’s already missing most of the amber-coloured liquid. Carl’s face bears more than his usual sullenness. There’s a sharp, grim edge, clearly tinged with sadness and Jasper knows he can't let that stand. Includes, but is not limited to: a rehabilitated zombie, a ridiculous amount of beeping noises, people that know too much about guns, people that know too much about intestines, a green sky, metaphors piling up (like crumbling skyscrapers!), spooky subway tunnels, singing oldies, worrying a lot, bleeding a lot, word soup, dog whistles, finding hope, finding clean toilet water, and finding a family that you didn't realize was right there the entire time.
