Anthony just... knows it. With anyone else, he'd probably just ignore it. With Coy though, it feels impossible. Like he's in Coy’s orbit, pulled to him. So close that he's somehow intertwined himself in his emotions and he can't untangle himself.

    Adam's eyes met the man's in a fleeting moment, and stayed fixed there, magnetized.

     

    He was tall, and he wore an expensive-looking coat. His eyes were a deep, crystal blue, wrinkled lightly at the corners as if someone had just told him a joke. They held Adam's gaze with a curiosity that verged on recognition. His mouth was quizzical, on a knife's edge of smiling. Adam felt suddenly as if all the breath had been knocked out of him.

    Adam Faulkner-Stanheight knew his own worth- that is to say, little-to-none. His girlfriend? Frustrated with him for wasting his life. His job? A complete dead end, working retail in December. His photography? Just a hobby, and one he was afraid to really pursue for fear of failing.
