It wasn't when his birth parents died and he got thrust into foster care. It wasn't when someone called him a villain for the first time, or hit him for the fun of it, or hurt him simply because they could.
It wasn't when Aizawa offered to train him, it wasn't when he was allowed to fight in the war and get his provisional license that way and it also wasn't when Aizawa and Yamada fostered and then later adopted him.
It wasn't when Hitoshi graduated and got his real license and it also wasn't when he got hired at an agency and finally achieved his dream of becoming a real hero.
No, his life went to shit on a random Tuesday afternoon in third year when Bakugou Katsuki confessed his feelings to him and Hitoshi blew him off.
