Summary
Lambert’s a young, budding alpha—not that he knows that yet. He’s smaller than average, but he’s scrappy and fierce; he calls it having substance over style. He’s snide about the others giving in to their “base” urges—that’ll never be him! He’ll have absolute iron control over himself.
He’s a late bloomer, so the instructors are reasonably sure he’ll be a beta. Breeding cycles—even though they don’t matter to witchers—tend to prompt omegas and alphas to develop earlier so they can get breeding done when their bodies are young, fit and healthy. An omega is obvious from birth, but an alpha’s anatomy develops as they grow. Lambert doesn’t think about it. Everyone has loose skin around the base of their cock, and no one really keeps track of it for him.
So it's a big fucking surprise to everyone involved when his first rut hits in early spring one year. He's only just started growing a beard, filling out in the chest and shoulders. He's still all whipcord muscle and long limbs.
