Summary
"Good news is it could be worse," Vash tells him. "I don't think it hit anything vital at the angle it went in. The worst should be the chance of infection and that it's probably going to be hard to reach."
A sarcastic huff is the only thing Wolfwood can manage to give him in reply. Lord have mercy, he's tired. Can't he close his eyes a little?
"I told you—you need to stay awake, Wolfwood!" Vash snaps. He presses on the wound roughly and Wolfwood's eyelids fly open.
"S'rry."
The cruel touch immediately turns to soothing strokes to Wolfwood's side.
"No, I'm the one who's sorry," Vash says. " What I was going to say was that the bad news is that I saw those bandits still snooping around the outskirts of town. They might be trying to wait us out, but you never know if they'll get impatient and come looking."
Wolfwood throws himself in the line of fire between a crowded diner and a bounty hunter looking to collect on Vash's head. With his ampules broken in the fall and a shotgun slug to the abdomen, Vash somehow drags them both back to their motel. Wolfwood wonders how they'll patch him up enough to make it out of town alive.

Summary
His presence is closer now. He’s leaning into Vash's space as he works the buttons of his coat through their holes, breathing the same air as him. It makes Vash's teeth ache. The skin of the priest's neck is bared to him, his dress shirt perpetually unbuttoned. Vash sways infinitesimally forward, jaw opening and poised to take a taste, before his eyes meet a questioning dark gaze. Wolfwood's mouth moves like he's saying something, but the buzzing in Vash’s ears drowns out any words he would be able to hear otherwise.
Vash misjudges the amount of time he has to hide himself away before his yearly cycle. Wolfwood bears witness.

Summary
Sleep-warm skin was plastered against the length of Vash's spine, small puffs of air ruffling through the short hairs at the nape of his neck. A hot, hard line pressed into the small of his back, little twitches of hips rocking forward and rucking Vash's undershirt up with every tiny movement.
"Ah, a-haah.."
Vash's breath died in his throat.
It was happening again, as it did nearly every night.
When Vash and Wolfwood start camping out to save money after parting ways with the two reporters, the close quarters needed to keep warm in the desert night ends up resulting in some unforeseen consequences.

Vash's body has some hangups after finally getting Wolfwood back from the grave. Luckily, Wolfwood has a plan. Except for the fact the plan involved Vash, so it was doomed to spiral. Not that either of them are complaining.

Project SEEDS was one of the leading organizations in hybrid rescue, rehabilitation, and release. Vash was a bit of a star employee, known for taking on impossible cases no one dared touch with a fifty foot pole.
And then he got assigned a wolf hybrid with the kindest pair of eyes, contrasting with the meanest set of teeth.
Unfortunately for Wolfwood, Vash wasn't a quitter. Unfortunately for Vash, Wolfwood fell harder than a flimsy house of cards.

“You pull a gun on everyone who stops here?” Wolfwood calls. “That’s not very hospitable of you.”
The man lifts his weapon, points it towards Vash.
“You the Stampede?”
Vash shrugs and Wolfwood releases the wrapping around the punisher.
“Wolfwood,” Vash warns. “No.”
“I won’t kill you if you let us walk away,” Wolfwood calls. “We really didn’t mean any harm.”
“We don’t need to fight,” Vash says, holding out his hands. “I–”
The sand in front of him explodes. Vash is gone when the dust clears, he’s behind Wolfwood, moving with inhuman speed to shove him hard towards the bike. The gun the man wields has to have some kind of modification. It leaves craters in the sand, holes that burn so hot little balls of glass litter the area around them.
“Fuck,” Vash gasps. “Fucking run.”
